  1. Those drops are like... unreal. So lucky to have this coaster a 5.5 hr drive away. Looking forward to ERT on El Toro this summer.
  2. Hehehe, yup that's the Superman guy. What a character...
  3. Go tothe ERT event in 2007! For one, it sucks to go to a theme park alone, at least I imagine it would. And second, ERT on some of the greatest coasters ever built. And by 07 they should have that new coaster...
  4. I've never been sick on a ride but I guess the one that makes me dizziest is the tilt-a-whirl. Yesterday, at SFNE, two people threw up on Nightwing for back to back ride cycles. So I guess its safe to say its pretty high up there for making people sick. That and the fact that the restraints squeeze the fluids out of your body...
  5. Wow, I can't believe they built one of these things. Hopefully it will run longer ride cycles than the US afterburners.
  6. 4/19/06 SFNE Weather: Perfect Crowds: Moderate Rides closed: Catapult, Skycoaster, Mind Eraser (That's it!?) My girlfriend Ali and I arrived around noon and headed straight for Superman: Ride Of Steel. The wait was about 15 minutes. We got in the front seat after an additional 10 or so minutes. Always worth it. We ended up with two rides. Airtime for everybody... Up next was Nightwing... well we tried to ride it but after 45 minutes and two puke cleanups, we decided to move on. We finally saw the 'Superman guy' everyone's always talking about. Just a little strange... We headed to the North End to check out Catapult, the sign at the front of the park said it was closed but we wanted to see it test. See the photos below of Catapult catapulting water bottles. You can thank my girlfriend Ali for being such a good sport and taking all the great photos. Cyclone looks nice with the new paint, entrance and retracking but the line was insane! Pandemonium also had a long line as usual, so we pretty much did no rides in the South End. We stopped by Crackaxle Canyon for Tomahawk, a Huss Frisbee. Great as always, and always a walkon. Later on, I took a ride on Splashwater Falls, the new spinning raft ride. Great fun but I can see it will have long lines through the summer. A bit of advice... The entrance sign says Flashpass enter right, and standby enter left. DO THE OPPOSITE. They messed up on the signing. Good one. To end the day, we hit Batman The Dark Knight, which looks like may be changed to Batman The Ride according to park signing. I don't know what it is but I love this coaster. Great zero g roll and the colors and location are also nice. Overall, a pretty good day at the park and the improvements are very nice. Please enjoy the below photos. Thanks again Ali. (Robb please feel free to use these in the gallery!) Catapult inverting. Batman offering zero gravity. Apparently Batman The Dark Knight is reffered to as Batman The Ride on the park's signing. map still says Knight... Whatever. Awesome little B&M. The interlocked flat spins. Flashback and the freshly painted Cyclone. Wheels anyone? Best first drop in the world. Superman OWNS YOUR FACE. An overview of the South End minus the ferris wheel... Gotta love Tomahawk... Nightwing... The only Huss Fly Away outside Europe. We waited 45 minutes for 2 puke cleanups... and still no ride on Nightwing today. Twister was running a decent program. The rafts actually spin pretty fast! This is a great addition to SFNE! A rear view of SWF. The line for Splashwater Falls was about an hour, so I went down the Fastpass line to see if they needed a single rider, here's my stolen family for the ride cycle... Catapult was testing all day today, not just up and down but finally completing ride cycles regularly with water bottles. Catapult going vertical.
  7. Think Acro and Tomb Raider are bad? Dude, one word... Tango.
  8. Just watch the happy people (in one piece) getting off the ride for a while, that outta do it.
  9. At least buy it a drink first. If you're cheap like me, just hit up the hospitality center. But... yeah. Kumba was one of my first coasters and it's still one of my favorites. Awesome cobra roll, long tunnel and that weird wavy section of track after the zero-g. Be gentle...
  10. SFNE's Cyclone. A lot of people to this day have it as their favorite wooden coaster. Boulder Dash is nearby and doesn't leave blood in your pee. Although it's not nearly as bad as it used to be, and this year it was retracked. I'll have to get back to y'all...
  11. I have been to both quite frequently... BGE: I prefer Busch Gardens to PKD not only because of my B&M fetish, but the place is just so damn beautiful. Alpengeist is one of my favorite coasters (been on over 200) Busch also has Darkastle, and it's rare to find a park nowadays with a decent haunted house (not full of cartoon characters!!) If you're planning on '07, you might get some Dive Machine action. On the other hand... PKD: AWESOME drop tower. Drop Zone is worth a visit in itself if you like drop rides. It's one of the few rides out there that "gets to me" just because of the height. I don't really care for PKD's coasters that much. I love Volcano but I can see how someone can get bored of the repetitive elements but the launches are pretty intense and the second one will surprise you on your first ride. PKD has great flat rides including a brand new Huss suspended top spin. Really try to hit both parks, they're must-sees.
  12. I feel while budget and breakdowns may have been an issue... couldn't it just be a case of "let's not outdo the original" ? At least all the buildings look different on the outside as well. Would have been nice to not have two towers with the twilight zone theme. I can't wait to try TDS's "Hightower" version of the ride. By the way... is there any concept art for the paris tower? Is it just going to be flat on all sides like it is now?
  13. Saw this coming with Catapult... Maybe there's a slight chance I can get on it Wednesday, Glad you guys had fun. You really don't appreciate the great theming thi spark has until someone reminds you in a photo TR. Compared to most other SF parks, SFNE is beautiful.
  14. Awesome photos. Too bad Delirium was closed, that's my favorite ride in the park.
  15. The Crush coaster is coming up quick! Hopefully I'll get to see DLP within a couple years. These additions have definately caught my interest in the park.
  16. http://www.jtcent.com/disneysea/american/amwtot.html The scaffolds are off! To our Japanese friends... is there an opening date set for this beauty? ...must go to DisneySea...
  17. Nice photos. Did they have Catapult running? I'll be up there Wednesday, can't wait.
  18. That really is too bad Jump is just sitting in a boneyard. If I understand correctly, it's the only one outside of the European fair circuit. GADV probably would have run it tamely... but I've spoken to people who've been to fairs in germany and the ride can be quite intense. Too bad they didn't stick it in the Plaza Del Carnival section of the park, it was nice and colorful, would have fit in nicely. Time to write a nice letter.
  19. The ride looks like fun. I'm sure every other Paramount park will have one within 2 years and I'll get a chance to ride.
  20. This was one of the MANY great flat rides GADV removed. They also had a Huss Frisbee and an extremely rare Huss Jumping. Wonder where that ever went... Oh well, it seems that with every flat ride that left we got another huge coaster.
  21. Here's some of the flat rides and a couple Superman.
  22. I would settle for a 'Journey' ride at one of the WDW parks. (guess it would make sense at AK) It's the main reason why I'd want to check out Disney Sea.
  23. At least wait until Crush and ToT are done in Paris.
  24. There's still a lot more needed at the existing 4 parks before they should even think about building a 5th gate, but I bet the Imagineers have at least an idea of what it would be. I would guess IF they ever added a new park it would be a 'mostly thrills' park like Cali Adventure to compete with IOA's thrill rides but a Disney Sea/Adventure themed park would be excellent. I don't see it coming this decade. Get Magic Kingdom a new eticket first! Then we'll talk.
  25. I guess the only thing to say is... wow.
