  1. I understand that any roller coaster company allows a restraint to tighten while on the ride (as opposed to letting it get looser, for obvious reasons) but this tightens MUCH more than any restraint I've ever felt. On Wild Eagle, if you held onto the vest as opposed to the handles, you could prevent it from tightening. It just meant you had to hold on the entire time and could never put your hands up and be "free" Since the problem tends to be noticed while on the brake run and not during the ride, I'm really not going to let my past experiences deter me from enjoying GateKeeper. This minor inconvenience isn't enough to majorly affect how I'll feel about the ride. I know it will be a good one!
  2. I have the feeling that it's probably something really simple.... But how do you get the photo backgrounds? It makes everything look that much more real!!!
  3. I was hoping to get to SDC this year, but unfortunately, the only day I can go is a saturday in mid-august So I'm thinking of just not going at all.
  4. The only racing coasters I've been on are Colossus (SFMM), The Racer (Kings Island and Kennywood), and Gemini. Not trying to be biased here, but Gemini IS my favorite out of all of them
  5. Also, there's Stockade in the back of the park and the employee cafeteria located near the front. It's very, very cheap PS, traincrossin, check this site out. It'll definitely help you a lot and answer any questions you have!
  6. At that time, the park isn't too busy yet, but it's still a Saturday so you can't really expect too many walk-ons. I would say you should go to the park, ride a few rides and see what the crowds are like. FastLane hardly ever sold out last year (except some Saturdays in July and Halloweekends) so you can buy it after enjoying the park a bit if need be.
  7. There have been a few. Dorney Park did one on Steel Force and Sea World San Antonio did one as well, but it was on a stage not a roller coaster.
  8. And just like when we saw the gaps in the keyholes, there are more people complaining about complaining than there are people who actually made a complaint about the color of the trains.
  9. Elitch Gardens. However, I grew up with Worlds of Fun and I work at CP during the summer... I've been to EG the least and CP the most (obviously). I consider CP my "home" so you can possibly consider it? IDK. Lol.
  10. Cedar Point. Unless you know exactly where to go (and there aren't many spots!), you won't see the park until you get right on the causeway... And BAM! It's just enormous and it's all you can see since it's out "on the water." I've never seen anything as amazing.
  11. I believe that Chance was probably close to building a hyper lite when Wild West World was open. Remember that park in 2007 just north of Wichita that was open for two months then went bankrupt? They had a sign outside of the park in front of the gates saying they were going to get a 200' drop tower for the 2008 season followed by a woodie in 2009 (clone of Thunderbird at PowerPark), but then there were talks of getting a mini-hyper instead, kind of like Steel Eel, which was going to run along the east side of the park. Considering the Chance Morgan factory is about a 10-15 minute drive from where Wild West World was, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Chance had this concept ready to go for the park. Shipping costs would be much cheaper since it would only have a few miles to travel.
  12. (Don't worry, guys. FaithnotForgotten and I know each other.)
  13. My first three are all very close to each other and I can't really decide which one I like most, but here's the best I could do! 1) Top Thrill Dragster 2) Magnum 3) Maverick 4) Raptor 5) Millennium Force 6) Mantis 7) Gemini 8) Wicked Twister 9) Blue Streak 10) Mean Streak 11) Iron Dragon 12) Corkscrew 13) Woodstock Express 14) Cedar Creek Mine Ride
  14. This was back in 2007, but when I rode Viper, it was smooth. Mild headbanging but not anywhere close to unbearable. There was no line and I actually got to stay in the front seat without actually getting off for 3 rides straight. On the 4th, I moved to a new seat because people were waiting for the front. I enjoyed it a lot! Revolution was a little rougher but we still enjoyed it. We just happened to hit these rides on a good day then
  15. ^Start construction on days when the park is closed. Halt construction when the park is open. Start construction a little earlier in the "off-season" to make up for those days the park is open. Simple enough.
  16. Vekoma SLC in Game Exchange Here is my recreation of the infamous Vekoma SLC. I didn\'t not use the SLC design that came with the program. This was created completely from scratch.
  17. All I know is that it's a very underrated coaster. It's in my top ten!
  18. A lot of us do have internalized homophobia. The thing no one wants to say is that it is ALL our fault. I choose to rarely go to gay bars/clubs. And by rarely, I mean that I have been twice. Once because a family friend was in town and another time because a friend convinced me to go for my birthday even though I really didn't want to. The thing that upsets me more than anything is that we want rights, but don't know how to get along with anyone in our community and we can't respect anyone's point of view except our own and that drives me nuts. I've also done a little bit of research into this. I grew up in Kansas and it's pretty obvious that that isn't the most gay-friendly place. The very rural areas, there are plenty of gays, but it's the typical "I'm bi but don't date dudes" or "I'm married" or even "Omggg you're sooooo hottt we should get married someday what did you say your name was im so srry did I upset you I promise ill never do it again im so sorry ughhhh im so stupid If you hate me its okay but we can still be together right?" And yes, that last one, I've actually had that happen before. I blame the media, mostly. It can be harmful to people of all orientations, but I believe that as a minority group, our media has a bigger impact on us. Think of it this way, mainstream television shows people of all sizes, races, nationalities, etc. In gay media, you have racial diversity and that's it. You see a bunch of hot, muscular, men which does NOT accurately reflect how real life is. When you have a person who grows up in a rural area and never meets a gay person face-to-face until they're an adult, the media will have a MUCH greater impact on them than if they grew up in a diverse, gay-friendly, urban area. If a gay person grows up seeing all these images, eventually it's going to get into their head that that is what gay life is all about. They have to act and look a certain way. I have met enough people to know that this is true. Also, when you're in a supportive environment, it's easier to accurately express everything about yourself (your interests, needs, wants, beliefs, emotions, everything) than if you were in a non-supportive environment and had to conform. I was a victim of cyber bullying when I was in high school by a few of those infamous "gay cliques" we seem to not be able to get rid of. Let me tell you, to this day, not a day goes by where I don't think about the things I went through. Moving to a whole different state was part of the "healing" process for me. But this is part of the reason why I choose not to frequent bars/clubs. I still have a lot of fear that what happened to me a few years ago will once again transcend into my daily life. Whenever an issue about bullying comes up in the news or whenever I can be an activist for anti-bullying, I take part. When I hear about a suicide due to bullying, my heart breaks knowing that I was once in that point in my life but got a sliver of help that gave me just enough of a push to keep going. But it's hard for me to really do much because my bullying didn't come from homophobes. It came from gay people... It's kind of hard to explain that when talking about bullying of gay students. It's my dream that once sexual minorities become more and more accepted by society, we'll begin to see a better gay community. So my thoughts in this post are a bit scattered, but I got some stuff of my chest that can somewhat fit into this conversation.
  19. Do you mean the barrel roll through the keyholes and the in-line twist?
  20. In case any of you missed it, SDC posted this on their facebook page today. I thought it was hilarious!
  21. ^I've done that too! Lol. I don't usually say my screen name though. It was made when I was 13 Ugh. Lol.
  22. Do it! It's cool meeting people from TPR when I'm at CP.
