The NL/NL2 Preview Thread
christianscoasters replied to mcjaco's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Just opened up NL2 and there was an update! I installed it, but I have no idea what the update consists of. Anyone know? -
I am TERRIBLE at naming coasters, so expect more generic names from me Viper is a B&M invert that makes use of its surrounding terrain. The first drop is approximately 170 feet. Track is 3,104 feet long. Max speed is 64 MPH. 5 Inversions. Two trains. **DOWNLOAD**

^^^ Thank you! I ended up closing the program and reopening it... And it worked 10x better. Lol. I'm currently using the demo as the full version still has quite some time to download. While the editor in the demo has a lot of features disabled (obviously), I can't do a whole let yet, but what I can do, I'm astounded. This is an amazing program. On the tracks that came in the demo, it's super easy to run in manual mode, transfer off trains, etc. I'm so impressed. The developers have done an astounding job.

NoLimits Coaster News!

Won't let me buy it yet -
Millennium Force will always run with 3 trains. If it's only running with 2, which it does sometimes as you said, it will be either because 1) Rain. 2) A mechanical issue on a certain train. 3) A mechanical issue affecting the ride in 3-train mode. The difference in capacity between running 2 trains and running 3 isn't as high as you'd think, unlike, say, a 3-train B&M dropping down to 2 trains. Cedar Point won't let their star attraction run at a lower capacity because it's "not busy enough" or something like that, unlike SFMM.

I don't "get" standups
christianscoasters replied to etr102's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The age of the stand up coaster is long gone. It was only created as a gimmick. Plain and simple. When you show a coaster to an average person of the GP, then explain how you ride it standing up, they instantly think it's ten times cooler. -
Weird Coaster Facts

Gemini is the only coaster at Cedar Point where the operators have to manually park the trains by pumping the brakes as they come into the station. It's a lot of fun! But after I already posted this, it was brought to my attention that Coasterkyle has already said this Whoops. -
I don't 'get' TTD or Kingda Ka

^What he said. Totally possible not to get airtime *right* at the top but ONLY if the train barely even makes it over. But even then, you'll get it going down the drop. The 270* spiral on the way down also kind of feels like you're being ripped out of your seat.
