  1. My focus has now shifted from Falcon's Fury to those amazing souvenir cups....
  2. ... That's because it's a very high capacity coaster. Line length has little to do with popularity. Last year, GateKeeper had over 2 million rides, but it's almost always a walk on when I've ridden it. Technically, it's the most popular coaster in the whole park, it just doesn't usually have a line. The exact same thing applies to Banshee.
  3. We must be visiting the parks on different days American Eagle was racing all 3 times I was at the park this year, and Gemini was racing maybe 50% of the time(I hit up cp 12 times this summer). I can't say much about colossus racing as I have only been to the park twice in the past 10 years and only remember it racing once. There have been several times that I have waited in line for gemini the past few summers and had to wait in a 15-20 min line with only one side running.Still not a bad line, but only running one side of a racing coaster is taking away most of the fun and point of riding a racing coaster in the first lace. I can also say that lightning racer was also racing every time I visit Hershey park. On a typical day, Gemini opens with red side and the blue side opens at 11:30. On cold or windy days, Gemini is at a high risk to valley, so if you see one loaded train and one empty train, the empty train will have sandbags in it and will continue to cycle without riders until there are enough people in line to consistently fill both trains. This is pretty rare but happens usually in May and during Halloweekends. Also, Gemini only runs one side toward the end of August and occasionally beginning of May as staffing levels are lower due to many of the employees going to school. CP doesn't have the advantage of being in a big city, so nearly all seasonal employees come from far distances and can't always work while going to school.
  4. Sounds like someone took out a camera or phone or whatever. Seriously, these last few pages are filled with nothing but over-dramatic nonsense. Rides break. They are mechanical machines that run for more than 12 hours a day, every day.
  5. ^Uh, yes it is possible to ride everything in one day without FastLane. Just get to Maverick first and ride the B&M's in late afternoon when the line nearly disappears.
  6. Have you been on any other GIBs? Déjà Vu at SFMM. But something tells me that might not count
  7. I rode Goliath and enjoyed it a lot! Although we were in the front seat which might have had something to do with it.
  8. Went on Tuesday and had a great time! Everything was a walk on except Green Lantern (15 minutes), Kingda Ka (40 minutes, including a delay), and Zumanjaro (25 minutes in single rider line). Rode Nitro a few times and once in C train. Rattley? Yes. Uncomfortable? No. I think some people are just a bit dramatic We rode El Toro close to 6 times. Will they ever make that station wider? It was ridiculous!!!
  9. Thanks, guys! We WERE able to ride everything in one day last year, including Nitro probably close to 8 times, El Toro about 4 (15 minute wait on average). Everything else was just once. We didn't get to ride Skyscreamer and we completely forgot about Houdini until we had already left One of the reasons why we might buy flash pass isn't just for lines, but we are leaving before close as we are going to drive up to MA to go to SFNE the next day.
  10. Any ideas on crowds this Tuesday? Considering buying flash pass if necessary but I really would prefer not to! I went last year and Ka had a 45 minute wait, so did Superman and GL. We did start in the back of the park where everything was almost a walk on (Nitro at 5-10 minutes) but I'm not sure if we just got lucky or if that's the norm. Is there a game plan or certain order to ride everything in? Thank you!!!
  11. Any coaster can valley. Raptor and GateKeeper are just more prone to it in high winds (or cold temperatures), compared to Mantis.
  12. Trying to make a B&M inverted drop like Banshee's is proving to be quite difficult. Any tips?
  13. Chance Morgan is the only redeeming value of Kansas.
  14. ^Its a fantastic example. When everyone saw the POV, it didn't look like anything special. Just a coaster with a tall hill. Then everyone rode it and realized how extreme it really was. I honestly can't think of a better example than that when it comes to POV deception. I didn't really care for Skyrush but I will say the POV was indeed very deceiving.
  15. ^Because if the seatbelt is snug around you, you won't get as much airtime as you normally would. With a B&M clamshell restraint, there's usually a little bit of wiggle room in between clicks.
  16. I live in Sandusky so Cedar Point is about 5-10 minutes from me. But after that, the three closest are Waldameer, Kennywood, then Kings Island.
  17. THIS. Not to mention, the theoretical capacity is somewhere around 1600 pph, right? There's no possible way you could do that with 2 trains.
  18. ^Raptor is a very high capacity coaster. It's usually slammed in the mornings but fairly often it's a walk-on in the afternoon/evenings. No need for it to be on fastlane plus. Out of MF, TTD, and Maverick, MF has the highest capacity and I totally agree with having Maverick and TTD on the plus. I can imagine MF may make its way to FastLane Plus some day, but for now, I think two rides will suffice. We shall see though!
  19. To those who think that standby lines are greatly impacted by any sort of "line cutting "pass, remember that the people who are "line cutting" would be in the standby line IF there were no "line cutting" passes, thus making the standby wait longer. Soooo....
  20. Agreed. Ish. It's really annoying seeing everyone say OMGGG ITZ A POLARR COASTERRR because they said the word "DNA". He said "coasters are in our DNA." He could have said "Coasters are what we specialize in" or "We're pretty good with adding coasters" and no one would have thought anything of it even though they mean the SAME THING. When he said it's in our DNA, he meant that CP will always be adding coasters. Everyone was looking into this WAY too much to think that because a Polar Coaster (which one hasn't even been built yet!) looks like DNA, it's coming to CP. Everyone needs to sit back and relax and let whatever happens, happens.
  21. I've never eaten at the subways in the park so I can't answer that but Chick-Fil-A is indeed closed on Sundays.
  22. ^Soak City doesn't open until May 26. Just get the regular park tickets.
  23. NoLimits doesn't have Zierer trains, which is why they went with the closest thing, the eurofighter trains, to make a NoLimits rendering, for those who were thinking it's gerstlauer.
