^I don't understand what there is to "get" though. Checking a seat is really just that simple. And since you do it so much, over and over every day, anything that's out of the ordinary, like someone trying to hold their bar up or any other safety hazard, is clear as day and very noticeable. At SFGADV on El Toro, I remember they checked both the seatbelt and the restraint at the same time, starting at the front of the train and working their way back, and they did it very quickly. Then, the attendant running the control booth would tell them which cars the computer says has a lap bar that isn't down far enough, and they'd go to that seat and push it down until it was down enough. That seems to make more sense to me, for efficiency's sake at least.

Strangest layouts
christianscoasters replied to Her0ofLime's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Powder Keg is a little odd. The weird little elevator track before the launch, the long turn with the old Premier track, and then the lift hill in the middle of the ride... And after that, there's not even that much left to the ride. Tons of fun, just... Odd. -
^^Actually, it could be perfect for any park! If you're looking for a family coaster, you could take out the barrel rolls. But because it's such a high capacity, it would be a great family ride in a large park but still small enough for a small park budget! ^Thank you! I tried it with the bobsled style cars. Yeah, it definitely does look a little more realistic

A friend and I have a joke about maximum capacity on coasters and running 12 trains on Raptor at Cedar Point. Yes, 12 trains. Obviously, that's impossible. But it inspired me to try and make a coaster in NoLimits that is designed to run 12 trains. This coaster right here is the result of that. It can run 12 trains successfully. However, the more blocks/trains you have, the shorter each block section gets, resulting in a few brake sections at the end rather than more track. I reduced the train count to 10, as the capacity would be the same, if not better, with 10 trains rather than 11 or 12. A train leaves the station approximately every 18 seconds, resulting in a capacity of 2,400 riders per hour. With trains only seating 12 people, it's a very fast loading/unloading process. To compensate, I made two stations. One for unload, and one for loading. If NoLimits had the ability to move multiple trains at once like Maverick and Millennium Force, then that's what I would have gone with for this. Since that isn't an available feature, I instead made the trains move in/out of the station rather quickly. While I used a Schwarzkopf looping coaster, I didn't design it to be a "realistic" one. For all I care, this design could be a spinning coaster, an intamin, or anything like that. I just wanted to see if it was possible to create a coaster that runs 12 trains. I didn't create this to be the "next best coaster." I wanted a small, high-capacity ride, and that's what I created! When you open this up in the simulator, let it cycle for a few minutes. When you first start the ride, all of the trains are on the block brakes. After it cycles for a few minutes and every train has moved, the ride will continuously run without stopping on the block brakes. People Eater in Game ExchangeA coaster with a capacity of 2,400 pph. Lagoon Discussion Thread
christianscoasters replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Everyone keeps talking about the elevator lift, but when I read that thread on lagoonisfun, the very first page says the ride will have a traditional lift hill, just scroll towards the bottom. What's the truth here? Lol. -
Best B&M sitting coaster?
christianscoasters replied to rcjp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've only been on one sit down, wildfire. I absolutely loved it! -
^My guess for the reason why raptor was only loading certain rows was because of the wind gusts that kept coming out of nowhere and the lack of a line. If the ride is a walk on and they're not filling every seat, they'll close off the back rows to keep the weight toward the front of the train. This helps the train to go a bit faster on days like today where weather conditions can cause a roll back. Once it becomes busy enough to where all (or more) rows can be filled, more seats will be opened up. I've worked on Gemini for two seasons now, and when it's cold and/or windy, this is the normal procedure, which includes putting weights in the trains every morning for tests. We'll close off the back rows until we have a big enough crowd to ensure we can fill more rows. I will almost always honor requests to sit in the back if someone really wants to. The only time we can't is if we have the exact minimum required amount of riders to fill the necessary amount of rows and in which case, they'll have to sit towards the front.

I consider it one, but I don't disagree with it being two at all. Some notable differences include: -Blue has a smoother helix. -Red has more "good" airtime. -Red is more smooth overall. And a little secret: Red is *slightly* faster From an operators standpoint, blue is better. From a riders, red. So I can understand how some people might consider it two.

I've only ridden the beast one time so I could be 100% wrong about this, but here's my guess: On certain rides that run more than 1 train, if the next block is occupied, the lift will slow down to let the train ahead clear the block, that way the train on the lift won't stop when it gets to the top. Example: Millennium Force starts out somewhat slow because the train in front of it isn't quite in the station yet, then halfway up the lift, it speeds up once the other train is completely clear of the brake run. Sometimes, if the train is dispatched too early, it almost comes to a complete stop at the top of the lift.

Photo TR: Chuck Finally Visits Cedar Point
christianscoasters replied to cfc's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
You should have ridden Gemini in the front of red. The airtime on the top of the first horse shoe and the final bunny hills are fantastic! On a hot day when the trains are running really well, it can have airtime comparable to Magnum. I remember seeing you when you visited, thinking "That guy looks familiar. Have I seen him on TPR?" Haha.
