  1. Nope. I get it every time. My butt is out of the seat from the crest of the tower to the pull-out of the drop. I love it!
  2. ^I just saw that on facebook today. It's very sad that places like that exist. Even more sad that a parent would want to send their child there. And in response to the Drag Race conversation on the previous page, I'm excited for Adore Delano. I remember when I watched him (Danny Noriega) on American Idol and I LOVED him! Unfortunately, I have to wait until Tuesdays to watch the show because I don't have Logo
  3. Is it sad that I don't even want to touch NoLimits anymore until NL2 comes out? Haha.
  4. Top Thrill Dragster: -Lap bars -Smooth -Fantastic airtime on the tower -Replaces anticipation of a traditional coaster going up a lift hill hearing "click click click" with the sounds of an engine revving. Really adds to it! - Runs at highest capacity. (Originally designed to run 6 trains but capacity was actually increased when operating with 5 trains) -The launch is basically one "tug" and it's incredible. Kingda Ka: -OTSR's... WHY?! -Rough. Wow. Very, very rough. -No airtime. Why? It was trimmed to death at the top of the tower. And the speed hill did absolutely nothing. -The launch "tugs" like 3 or 4 times. It was awkward and weird. I am a CP fanboy and I LOVE Top Thrill Dragster, but I will give credit where credit is due. When I rode Kingda Ka, I went in optimistic but was still left disappointed. The point of these rides is height and speed. One trick pony? Yes. Maybe a "two-trick." But it does it WELL and that is what it has going for it. The speed is insane. The ride just "feels" massive.
  5. I'm probably most excited for Lightning Run. It looks fantastic, and if it turns out to be as good as it looks, it would be nice to see some more pop up around the states! I'm very optimistic about its success.
  6. I still can't get over the fact that there's another ride in the park that ends in "hawk".
  7. I prefer riding magnum in the back, but every now and then, I ride in the ejector seat, 1-3.
  8. Except Ouimet wasn't in charge until last year...
  9. FastLane plus could offer different rides next year. I imagine gatekeeper was on FastLane plus simply because it was the new ride. It's also a huge people eater so I think it would be fine on the regular fastlane.
  10. I posted in here in February but I have two new credits to add GateKeeper and Jr. Gemini. 1) Magnum 2) Top Thrill Dragster 3) Maverick 4) Raptor 5) Millennium Force 6) GateKeeper 7) Blue Streak 8) Gemini 9) Wicked Twister 10) Mantis 11) Mean Streak 12) Mine Ride 13) Iron Dragon 14) Woodstock Express 15) Jr. Gemini (I originally only had about .5 of the credit, but I got the full credit the next day!) 16) Corkscrew
  11. Depends on which direction you look in.
  12. It's not my best work, but sure, you can use it if you want. Technically, it belongs to NoLimits, but I don't mind it being used.
  13. Dominator at Dorney was a big surprise when I rode it. The drop side was fantastic.
  14. Hydra at Dorney or Thunderbolt at Kennywood has my vote
  15. It's not fair to compare the popularity of these rides based on line length. GateKeeper gets twice as many riders in one hour (or even MORE than that) than Maverick does. GateKeeper also had 2.16 million riders this year. No new ride has got over 2 million riders in its opening season other than Raptor. With GateKeeper being at the front of the park, most people ride it earlier in the day, resulting in a much shorter line at night. With all of these factors in place, it's not fair to say that the GP isn't impressed with it. Regarding X-Flight or GateKeeper... I have not ridden X-Flight yet, but I plan to next year. As for GateKeeper, the sad reality is that some days it's "meh" and some days that it's fantastic. I rode it in early May on a colder day, and like most posters here, didn't really experience much. No airtime on the camelback, but I thought it was "fun" nonetheless. Fast forward to a hot day in June and WOW it was much different. That thing was hauling a$$ throughout the entire ride. I was out of my seat on the camelback. Yes, butt-off-seat airtime. The dive loop had fantastic forces and so did the helix after the block brake. Also, after Labor Day, they fixed the restraints so that ALL of the vests no longer tightened up uncomfortably throughout the ride. It drastically improved the ride experience. It was very "freeing." I knew plenty of people who didn't rank GateKeeper too highly but agreed that with the vests being fixed, it's a totally different ride and they liked it a lot more.
  16. ^I have ridden both Mean Streak and The Beast and I don't rank either of them very highly...
  17. ^Only during the operating season. And during Halloweekends, it's only ope Friday-Sunday
  18. ^But after that, it just kinda meanders and does nothing.
  19. Cedar Fair: Leviathan or Magnum XL-200 Six Flags: El Toro SeaWorld Entertainment: Steel Eel Herschend: Outlaw Run Parques Reunidos: Phantom's Revenge
  20. ^Because they've been in business for over 100 years. When they started, coasters weren't very big, they weren't as crazy, and not as advanced as they are today. It's also fairly recent that the "large" wooden coasters we know of today are becoming very aged. Unless something goes horribly wrong, a brand new wooden coaster is not going to be rough in its opening season, even with PTC trains. Over time, it will tear up the track. If a park opens up a successful wooden coaster, other parks will eventually follow suit. It isn't until several years down the road that they will see that the PTC's tear up the track enormously. You could also say that parks understood that they will have excessive maintenance on wood coasters. If PTC trains were the standard, then they probably already knew the upkeep will be a lot. There really was no need for newer trains if parks understood they'll have to maintain them well.
  21. That's the perfect description. I got off of Green Lantern feeling pretty let down. The non-moving, longest line we experienced all day didn't help either. It was smoother, no doubt, but nowhere near as intense as Mantis. I think since it was almost a clone (not quite, but almost), I expected it to be much more similar than it actually was. Mantis' intensity vs. Green Lantern's smoothness... I really can't decide which one I like more, however. The only other B&M stand-up I've been on is Riddler's Revenge. That was in 2007 and I don't remember it much, but I don't remember being overly thrilled by any means. Last but not least, Skyrider at Canada's Wonderland. Yeah. Not happening again. Terrible.
