1980's Coaster Specials were Cheez-whiz...
vjgx replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
19 seconds through the first link -- laughing my head off! By the way -- His first coaster was also my first coaster... I feel ashamed to share such a trait with such a lame person, dang it!! -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

AIM conversation with my friend: "i blacked out on nitro's corkscrew" (this is Nitro at GAdv) I had to correct him by saying: "nitro's helix you mean?" "twisty section" "spiral" Him: "...ya" I don't mean to laugh at my friend, but I couldn't help it... -

I was wondering, how are the wait times (generally) for each ride at SFMM when it opens? Specifically, I'm wondering about X, Tatsu, Batman: The Ride, The Riddler's Revenge, and Scream. If anyone could answer my questions, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Most INTENSE Coaster Moment?
vjgx replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Tatsu. 124' Pretzel Loop. 'Nuff said. -
Cool... I usually go to Playland when I'm in NY, and this is a pretty good representation of it. I find it a good place to go if you wanna hang out for a couple hours, because it's not pay-to-be-there, it's pay-per-ride... Unfortunately, the only coaster there that I actually like is Dragon Coaster... Superflight hurts, and I'm not the biggest fan of Crazy Mouse (or any wild mouse ride for that matter)...

I'll be going to Magic Mountain on Sunday, September 10th. This is the Sunday after Labor Day weekend... So I was wondering, has anyone been to MM the weekend after labor day? How do the crowds compare to a normal Sunday? I would really appreciate any information regarding this, so thanks to anyone who replies!

Oh yeah... I forgot I made this thread! Anyway, our trip was somewhat "cancelled", so it looks like I can forget about this thread...

Wow, I would be very relieved if all I had to do at Jury Duty is sit and wait... with free internet access!! And yes... This heatwave is very stupid, annoying, and any other word related to stupid or annoying.

Funniest Ride Experiences
vjgx replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was waiting in line for Montezooma's Revenge at KBF, and there was one girl on it who was freaking out. The ride op was foolin' around quite a bit that day (it was our 3rd time on it for the day), so he decided to make another joke out of the situation. He goes up to the girl and goes, "Oh, are you scared? Awwww don't worry, I'll count down for you so you'll know when we go! " About 10 seconds later: "Okay... 10, 9, 8 [LAUNCH] sevesixfifotreetoonezerobyebye!" The look on the girl's face and the whole station laughing was priceless... and even funnier, we all tried to stop laughing before the train came back through the station, so she wouldn't know! -
Painful Coaster: GhostRider at KBF... Worst. Headache. EVER! I've never felt so much vibrating, shaking, or jackhammering in my life! Painful Flat: This thing: Uncomfortable restraints + hanging upsidedown for 5 seconds at a time = painful distribution of blood throughout the body! Fun Coaster: Tatsu... Flying position is crazy fun, the pretzel loop makes me laugh hysterically, and to top it all off, it was my fourth coaster bigger than Jaguar at KBF... and I was half-asleep before getting on![/img] Fun Flat: Supreme Scream, or any other similar Turbo Drop tower... lots of fun, and always a bit freaky!

Rides that will never happen
vjgx replied to zaneymon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven't really thought of any crazy ride designs, but my friend suggested the following idea when we were at KBF a few weeks ago: There should be a ride in which a bunch of people sit on a gigantic disk-type thing with seats. Then, a giant robotic arm flings the disk through the air (with no track, etc.)... until it's caught by another robotic arm on the other side of the park. Long story short: Frisbee: The Ride! -
^ Okay then, I'll see if I can do that. This is primarily a friend's trip, but I'm tagging along... so maybe I can "recommend" that he follow my advice!

Note: Do not post any more, please... I'm not going any more. Well, I'm probably going to be at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure on Wednesday (probably both on the same day! ). To make things worse for me, this will be my first time at DLR since about 10 years ago. Seeing as I'm totally clueless, I need a bit of help. What rides should I attempt to get on, and what's the best order? Do I need to worry about insane crowds on a Wednesday? Is it possible to get all 6 credits between the two parks within one day? Also, I'd appreciate any other tips related to DLR, if possible... Thanks a bunch!

Photo TR: Theme Park Review goes to COMIC CON!!!!
vjgx replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
OMG I was at Comic-Con too!! I was there today, but arrived yesterday to meet a friend in San Diego... and I had this weird feeling that you might've been there... Well, it looks like I was right! Among other things, I purchased a Snakes on a Plane T-Shirt (which is awesome) and a V for Vendetta mask (just for kicks... you should've seen the looks I got wearing that thing in the parking garage elevator!) So yeah, it was awesome. P.S.: I saw that restaurant you ate at, I walked by and was thinking how weird it was for "A Steak Place" to have that name. Instead, we ate at Rockin' Baja Lobster... that wasn't too bad at all. -
GhostRider at KBF... I rode it a few weeks ago, and I could care less how much any of you like it -- It was jackhammering and vibrating so much that I almost literally felt my brain being bashed around inside my skull... I came off moaning with the worst headache I've had in my life!

Until May of this year, I wouldn't ride anything over 50 feet tall... Then, my friend invited me to go to SFMM with him. Because I didn't want to disappoint him (seeing as I'm one of his best friends), I decided to go and test my limits. Viper was my first big roller coaster ever, and I was terrified... I went on it, had fun, but was still kind of shaken from the roughness, and that it was so big (at least it seemed that way). Eventually, later in the day, I was convinced by my friend to go on The Riddler's Revenge. Ever since that ride, I've not been the least bit scared of any roller coaster. Sure, I've been nervous before riding the more intense stuff (like Tatsu, which is awesome), but now it's nothing compared to what I used to be... and I'm glad. I've come to realize that there's nothing to be afraid of -- only fun to be had! And believe me, that's a good feeling to not be afraid!

Mini Photo TR: First "Sign" of BGE's New Ride

Dropping... Bird claws... I've got it! It's a Flying Dive Machine! -
The Riddler's Revenge on May 13, 2006. - It was Tatsu's opening day - 8,000 extra people were there due to a gigantic company event - The misters stopped working the second we got in line - I still wasn't used to big coasters at all, and I had almost chickened out. Eventually, I got in line. I waited another 3 hours, scared out of my mind. - And to make things worse, about 3 times throughout the line the ride broke down and they had to cycle empty trains for about 20 minutes - This being Six Flags Ghetto Mountain, there was line jumping "out the hizzy" (did I say that right? ) But eventually, I got on... and loved it! It's currently my 2nd-favorite coaster, 2nd only to Tatsu...

Oldest Coaster You've Ridden
vjgx replied to MSLSM's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dragon Coaster at Playland Park (Rye, NY). It was opened in 1929... and is still running. I rode it a couple weeks ago, and it's still amazingly smooth. Heck, it's about 20 times smoother than GhostRider at KBF... and that opened in 1998!!
