  1. Yeah, well donkeys smell like ass (literally and figuratively), so you're going to have some degree of fearsome stench no matter what you do. Rodents poop everywhere too.
  2. Don't sit in that seat... the restraint buckle has a tendency to come undone...
  3. The Incredible Hulk feels like you are going really fast during my second favorite part of the ride, the big turnaround after the first loop. You go down under the tunnel and shoot back up, go around an overbanked turn and back down. I kinda wish I brought goggles on that ride, I hate having wind blown into my eyes.
  4. Well... that is what I thought, the first time I saw one... mind you, I was six years old...
  5. You may have just scared me away from wooden coasters for the rest of my life. You are telling me that there are a lot of wooden coasters that are actually bumpier? Ughhhhhh..
  6. Can anyone answer the question about where the 14 inversions come from?
  7. Only one..unless they're lesbians... Who's afraid of the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf?
  8. This video was awesome. Who's house was that? I thought it was funny that you could see these plush Taiko thingies above the TV, just like these forum smilies.
  9. And that 50% of the population makes up about 5% of the coaster community. And floorless coasters aren't dying out. Dorney Park got a new one just last year. Floorlii ROCK!
  10. Is it a credit? If you really want it to be, then fine, I won't argue with you. But if you ask me if it is a roller coaster, I say no, because it is powered.
  11. I think I disagree with this. Do you think sit down coasters are a thing of the past? The floorless coaster is an improvement on the sit down style... this is my favorite type of coaster. As for fads, I hope that bumpy wooden coasters die out soon, I would really like to see some nice smooth ones.
  12. Negative G is fun. Positive G is torture.
  13. This is a no-brainer. Steel wins 100% for me. Sure, wooden coasters may be fun, but they all seem the same, and are hardly ever original in appearance. You have the okay unpainted coasters, and the super-ugly painted white ones. Also, wood is much harder to maintain, and gets bumpier after a while. Wood is imperfect, which means you rarely ever get smooth airtime. Wood looses speed much faster than steel, so manufacturers have to resort to cheap tricks that involve banking turns incorrectly, in an a feeble attempt to keep you interested. Plus, with wood, you can't include one of the most important elements of a roller coaster... inversions. Well, they tried....once... and we all know how that turned out... Rolling Eyes Wooden coasters, once again, require a lot of maintenance. Steel coasters don't need nearly as much maintenance, and yet they still are much faster, smoother, and more thrilling. Wooden coasters come in one style.... Sit down. Steel coasters come in many, many styles, including sitting, inverted, floorless, flying, and 4D. Basically, wooden coasters are a thing of the past. Something that should have disappeared several decades ago. Because, every good thing about a wooden coaster can be done with a steel coaster, it will cost less to mantain, look nicer, last longer, and can be perfected in design based on the improved techniques used to build steel coasters. I know there are a lot of people who completely disagree with me, but I do have a right to my own opinion.
  14. Sheikra and Kraken. WHOO YEAH!
  15. Wow... that surprises me. As soon as I saw this thread, I immediately thought of Kraken at Sea World Orlando as the ride with the best ending I have been on. Oh well.
  16. I definitely prefer airtime to positive G force, and I wish more looping coasters had it. Airtime can be torture sometimes, but it's fun. I say the exact opposite about rough coasters with tons of positive force poulling down on you. It can be torture ALWAYS, and is never fun. So yeah that is what I think about airtime. I think the Mummy (Florida) has the best airtime of any coaster I have been on.
  17. That was an EXCELLENT POST. THANK YOU! I am really looking forward to going again sometime soon!
  18. Thats neat, and I like the logo. I have never played with RCT3 (only NoLimits) so I have never built a park before, but it looks like fun.
  19. I was about to make a thread for this but first searched it and found it here. I really am considering going, but I would like some detailed information please. Are all of the major attractions included in admission? What is designing rides for CyberSpace Mountain like? How many directions does the simulator turn? Is it worth my $40 if I have never been? I like this kind of thing. I think it would be worth my $40 just to avoid spending my day in the mall with the rest of my family who actually like malls. Are there any fan websites about Disneyquest that have more information? WHAT THE HELL? SPORTS SUCK!
  20. It's not as bad anymore, they just retracked both sides so it's rideable now. Lion was the second side to get retracked, so it's actually smoother than Tiger is now. But my tip for riding Gwazi, ride in FRONT... the back rows of the train will shake the hell out of you still. Oh, and also, if you ask if they could duel them, they will Really? Wow, I rode three times, twice on Tiger and once on Lion and they never dueled them.
  21. The most important advice anyone can give you is DON'T RIDE GWAZI! Unless you really want the credit. The ride is nothing more than that. A crappy ride built by Sucky Coasters International. Its not because the man died after riding it (though Im glad this ride has that kind of press now, because you really are better off not riding this). But I did prefer Tiger; less pain, more airtime. As for Sheikra (My #1 favorite Coaster), keep your eyes open for a single rider line. Last time I checked, there was one. Also, they dont let you choose your row,, and you can't wait for the front. While I like the back for most coasters, since sheikra has such a short train I don't think it makes much of a difference. My favorite row was front, but like I said, you don't get to choose. Montu (My #2 favorite Coaster), you need to ride a few times. It's by itself in the corner of the park, and when I went the longest wait was five minutes. A front seat on this is a MUST! I've only been on this ride and both Dueling Dragons, but this is BY FAR the best inverted coaster in Florida! Best part of sheikra of course is the drop, second best part is the hangtime in the immelman. The only ride I chickened out on was Phoenix (a looping pirate ship ride). But now I really wish i went on it.
  22. Ugh... I hate when they do that with inversions. Why can't they make them big and slow enough to get some disorienting zero G at the top? Sheikra's Immelman is the perfect example of what I wish they did with more coasters. Why does everyone hear "intense" and think of hard positive G force? I think intense, and what comes to mind is weightlessness and feeling disoriented. Thats what I like. I wish more coasters had less elements focused entirely on positive G force, and had more with negative G and "controlled" weightlessness. I say save the +G for really fast helixes and the bottom of loops. I hate when an entire inversion is ruined by +G's. It keeps you from feeling any other more exciting sensations. As for the most intense moments, I say the drop on Sheikra and the drop on Kraken. Also, the launch on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. It's the best in the back. After a few rides in a row it gets less intense, but the first ride of the trip always gets me
  23. I agree... they have too much positive G force and snap and not enough hangtime
  24. Zero G Roll has my favorite sensation... but overall my favorite is a nice, HUGE loop. I don't like the tiny loops that pull hard positive G's all around. Those are just stupid. I like the huge loops like on Montu, Kumba, Kraken, Dominator, etc, that have tons of hangtime. I also like the immelman on Sheikra for it's hangtime. And is it just me, or do others also think that the inverted Zero G Roll isn't nearly as effective as the floorless one?
  25. I absolutely LOVE this thread. I always liked to design rides on paper that either are possible, yet would never be built, or that are impossible for safety reasons. The first time I ever saw an inverted coaster, I didn't understand that the trains where shaped like they were.... I actuallty thought that the riders went upide down at the bottom of the loops and right side up at the top. This inspired a lot of creativity, I started thinking of new ideas to invent. Of course, I have dreamt the dive machine from the stratosphere. I have also thought of a 4D coaster, however, the cars rotate by natural motion like they do on the zipper, a Top Scan, Top Spin etc. I have also designed several rides where the rider travels straight along an upside down piece of track for quite a long time. Back when I was afraid to go on most roller coasters (but was still as much of an enthusiast as I am today), I actually thought that would be scary. I also designed a lot of "torture rides", usually involving people getting strapped in by their arms and feet and being held under water or dipped in lava as they pass by. And opf course, I created a roller coaster with extra wheels on the side, where it jumps off the track and drives downa ramp for the second part of the ride.
