  1. I'm mad about this situation. Do I care? No. They were just celebrating July 4. The reason I'm so mad was that I was in the middle of watching Ellen DeGeneres ride the mummy and for some reason they think this is more important, and interrupt my show. I hardly EVER watch TV!!! So when I do, DON'T mess with me!
  2. So much for that... I actually sent him 3 well thought out handwritten emails.. Robb, you might want to take the link out of this post as well. It is in the "Emailing Dan" thread in the Ask Alvey section, and people may still be using it.
  3. I can't believe that some people can't accept that others have opinions. Many people say that my list is stupid, but I just thank them for their opinion and move on. Sure, I may have only been on the coasters in Florida, and while I am a really big fan of them, I am veryn open to the fact that there is something better out there. I actually thought about this list for a while, and this is pretty much exactly how they rank for me: 1) Sheikra (The best drop sensation in the world, very scary. Plus, tons of hangtime on the immelmann) 2) Montu (Great combination of inversions. Most vertical loops on inverts are too small to be fun ...too much +G, not enough hangtime) 3) Kraken (The best Zero G Roll ever, and a great first drop) 4) The Incredible Hulk Coaster (Launching into a zero G roll is one of the most ingenious ideas ever) 5) Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (My first inverting coaster, and has the best corkscrew of any coaster I've been on.. B&M corkscrews are too tight and the sensation is unpleasant, not fun) 6) Dueling Dragons Fire (Great airtime hill, and two immelmanns, which I love) 7) Kumba (The best vertical loop of any coaster I have been on... tons of hangtime) 8) Revenge of the Mummy (More airtime than I could ever dream of, not to mention the special effects) 9) Dueling Dragons Ice (Zero g roll, and a cool turnaround after the first drop) 10) Space Mountain in Florida(Nothing beats this classic ride. While I hate the rough bounciness of a woodie, I absoluterly love it when a bumpy steel coaster comes along. The bumps actually make this ride kinda fun) Almost made it on the list: -Dania Beach Hurricane (simply because it was the only woodie I have ever been on that was even somewhat good) Notice a pattern? They are all steel. I am not a big fan of woodies. I had Dania Beach Hurricane on there for a while, but when I rode the Mummy, it surpassed it, because it had better airtime. See? It's my lack of interest in woodies that usually gets people angry with me. But then, it's just because I have been on 3, and two of them were complete CRAP. Also, I dont think The Dania Beach Hurricane is anything special. And if it's one of the top woodies, then that must be saying something. (And I live about 20 minutes from it, so I would be a big fanboy of it if anyone was).
  4. I love when Robb gives us "virtual rides" on the construction tour videos.
  5. Yeah, tell me about it. Only a 600 dollar difference. I plan on getting ONE scorpion kit before the end of the summer. Hopefully this will satisfy me for a little while.
  6. The myspace that you see now is Elissa's real page. The fake one had all sorts of false info, but this one is authentic.
  7. I was the same. Always loved watching and looking at and deigning coasters. Always hated riding them (even though I refused to even try). My first coaster was Space Mountain at WDW. Right side (Omega), last seat. I refused to ride it again for about 7 years. When i rode it, I was still afraid every time, but knew I would be okay. When I turned I finally saw a special on Rock 'n' Roller coaster and decided it was finally time to go upside down. I did, and now all of the sudden I will ride anything. So, yeah, Robb and I have the same first credit. (Even though Space Mountain is two credits and he might have chosen the other). Thats cool. But what was your first ride together? I dont think you answered.
  8. Weeeeeeeeeeee!
  9. I thought that SOB's loop was smooth? That's what I heard, the loop was smooth, the rest of the ride was painful.
  10. Sure, this pic is huge, but I have never seen a cooler angle of such an awesome ride. This shot really shows you how tall it is.
  11. I'm getting a job just so I can buy one of those. The pictures on the previous page are excellent, GREAT job!
  12. I found out that you can safely launch a bottle rocket from your hand...
  13. The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman Its actually better than any roller coaster.
  14. Thats pretty cool. I was thinking about doing the same exact thing. Maybe I'll upload some of my own photos later.
  15. The acceptable level of wetness is the no more than the amount that would be dry by the time you get off
  16. Do you like them Wet, hairy or smelly? He was supposed to include a cute picture.
  17. Because water rides can totally ruin your day. However, a hot Danish chick trying to get me to go on the ride would certainly change my mind
  18. ...NOOOOOO!!!! I change my mind!!! Animal testing is BADDDD!
  19. Ok, this thread was influenced by all of the rodent jokes all over this site. I figured since pretty much "anything goes" in this section of the forum, so I would give this thread a shot! What is your favorite rodent? I actaully have a few. My favorite though, will always be a small mouse. I love rodents For overall cuteness, NOTHING will ever be more adorable than this little critter. I had a mouse once. She died I miss you!!
  20. Here is my top ten list, and I actually thought about it for a while, and this is pretty much exactly how they rank for me: 1) Sheikra (The best drop sensation in the world, very scary. I had Dania Beach Hurricane on there for a while, but when I rode the Mummy, it surpassed it, because it had better airtime. I just made this thread.....it got locked because it was a duplicate...
  21. Who can think of their top ten favorite roller coasters of all time? They don't have to be exact, if you want, just think of the ones that stand out the most in your mind, and try and put them in an order. If you can only think of a few, or even just one, put that! Here is my top ten list, and I actually thought about it for a while, and this is pretty much exactly how they rank for me: 1) Sheikra (The best drop sensation in the world, very scary. Plus, tons of hangtime on the immelmann) 2) Montu (Great combination of inversions. Also, the only coasters I have been on are in Florida, good thing we have a great collection of coasters here. I had Dania Beach Hurricane on there for a while, but when I rode the Mummy, it surpassed it, because it had better airtime. Can you think of your favorites and roughly put them in a list?
  22. no. unlike animals, i can communicate a choice to refuse. yet, im sure there would be people willing to volunteer for these study groups. would you? I very much doubt you would find someone of sane mind willing to be tested. And no I would never allow myself to be tested on. We have animals to do that on. I'm appauled that you can even think that. I think you might actually be the only person who's intelligence is on par with a chicken. That pretty much sums everything up right there. Animals are lesser creatures than humans. Killing an animal for fur is one thing. But if I can save a humans life by killing a chimpanzee, I would do it. The same way the government would allow a hostage to die in order to save the rest of the country. I understand your empathy for animals, I feel the same way too, however I do not ebelieve that they should be treated the same as humans.
  23. The shake effect? Try hitting F6, see if that helps.
  24. Why the hell am I still up this late?
  25. This was my first time using more than one segment in a drop. Before, I always used only one, it was easier to get the pumping out. But I attempted two this time, and I got the shape I desired, which was worh the extra time it took to shape. I put the sea serpent in because I like that element. Honestly, I hate cobra rolls, I only put one in because I needed a turnaround inversion and a dive loop or immelmann wouldnt have worked in my layout. Thanks for the comments on the lift supports, they took 3 times as long as the supports for the rest of the entire coaster. Every track I make, I get better, so I always appreciate feedback and advice, thank you who have taken the time to download and critique. And I happen to love vertical loops. Thats why I put three in. A nice, big, vertical loop with a with tons of air at the top is a ton of fun! With my next track I will attempt to not use prefab elements. It will probably be very difficult on my first try.
