Wooden Warrior! The Voyage is way overhyped, it's good but not that good... The worst by far is Hades 360 -
Photo TR: The Kiwis Do Texas Midwest 2013
Werner replied to mattnz's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great start to the TR! Can't wait for your thoughts on SF over Texas... -
Just a quick question, for how long are you going? Maybe it would be able to fit in both SF parks. Since many Airlines to trough one of the 'hubs' and Chicago is one of them. Maybe this would cost you one or two days extra, but it's proberly worth it. Since you said your Into old school Anton, and SFGAm has Whizzer... If you have any more questions on how i would do it just sent me a PM

Green Lantern is an decent ride, but nothing special. For more parks along the road i would say check: coast2coaster.com It's an amazing map of themeparks

^Good shot! FYI too: 10 MP doesn't say much about the quality, it's more for how big you can print the photo.

This thread reminds me, i've got to get to 'know' mt new camera better to get better shots of of it. And to really focus on manual operations Been a bit lazy since i sold my DSLR and got me myself a nice 'compact' SuperZoom... With the Texas/Midwest coming it's about time that i'm going for it.

2 Months ago i visited both Alton and Thorpe, and both parks are great in their owm way. If you need to use oublic transport i would choose to go to Thorpe over Alton, just because of the location. If you have a (rental?) car, then the drive up to Alton would be worth the it! Alton has some very unique rides such as Nemesis, Air, Oblivion, The Smiler and many more... Thorpe on the other hand has Stealth, wich is just a 'mini' Kingda KA, but a great rush! The rest of the rides are more o.k. thrill rides, only Slammer really stands out. ... You could maybe aven take a train Friday evening towards Stoke- on- Trent, and spend two nights in a hotel. There is one across from the train station and the bus to Alton stops there too But only do that if your able to travel on Friday evening and Sunday morning Hope this maybe helps...

Well since there is nothing wrong with the layout itself, i would say retrack and other trains. That has to do the trick for this one. -
Well i'm not Robb ofcourse, but just came back from Thorpe a month ago. 1. Stealth -BIG GAP- 2. Nemesis inferno 3. The Swarm 4. Colossus 5. Saw: The Ride Also dont miss some of the flats like Slammer and Rush!

Nemesis, but Montu is a great ride too! -
^ That is so true! When i walk to an shop and i see a family who's getting told by a sellsman to go for an DSLR for holiday photo's. That kind of always bites me, becouse ot's kind of a rip-off. That's why when i see people looking for a camera like that and they get talked into buying a DSLR, sometimes i ask them what they are going to use it for. But somehow it seems to be a thing to have nowadays...

^Auto function on a DSLR is just lame. Well for me i've sold my DSLR(Nikon D700) last year and got myself a Fujifilm Supersoom(X-S1). So far it does what it needs to do, just point and shoot! It's just as good as any 'low-budget' DSLR, the only thing is: it has more zoom and better minimal F-stops. Can't wait to try it out this summer...(Hi Hanno! Click and run ) Might even check out if i can get the manual options to work, if i take the time for it.

B&M Wing Rider Coasters - Love or Hate?
Werner replied to jfruge's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well after riding Swarm a couple of times two weeks ago. I can say: It's an okay ride, but indeed nothing ground breaking. But i think these kind of rides are really great rides for parks, just because they bring in the crowds. Don't see them get build as muck as inverts over the years to some, but maybe some more will be build in China. But most say i think one of these Wingriders will proberly look really good in a Busch Gardens type of park Since i will be riding Wild Eagle, X-Flight and Gatekeeper this year. i can say: i'm going to get my fair share of wingriders this year -

Welcome back to reading this Photo-TR again. The second day took us to my favorite themepark in England; Alton Towers! Welcome to Alton Towers! We made a left turn after we entered the park, it's Sea-Life people... This guy really liked his place cleaned up! Still a little to cold today for this, unless your a Brit! A my favorite Alton ride! Time to fly with Air! Feel as free as an bird! No forced Pretzels here... Only this part... Are you done taking pictures? I saw this Monster of a Coaster here somewhere... Let's go! You mean this Monster? It will eat you alive... Guess that didn't go so well, with all that blood coming out and all... Can't leave without this classic shot! I would love to join... Where can i sign up? A little view from the Sky Ride. But wait, ... ... Rita turned out to be closed Ohh! HEX! Still my favorite Madhouse! Can you see the face too? How cool would it be, if they put someting like Darkastle in here? Oblivion! Those poor people... This are the many faces of Death! Time to put some SmileS on your faces! Smile 1! Smile 2! Smile 3! Smile 4! Smile 5! aka, lets go put some more rumours on the internet about a secret element... Smile 6! Aka, should i tell them about this bolt? Smile 7! The exit smile of Horror! And remember: Smile always! And now back to reality... It's almost like a fairytale... Goodbye, Alton... Hope to be back soon! Hope you enjoyed reading this update, and don't mind leaving a comment -

^They said something about that i needed to have my drivers license at least more then a year. After when i asked them if it would be a problem before i made the booking, so this is not over yet.
