  1. I want to say thanks to everyone for the help and feedback! Simply stated, we had a blast! I have never been able to do so much at the magic kingdom on any visit. When I got there at 4 it did rain a little but after that, it was little to no rain throughout the night, just a drizzle now and then. We got to meet mickey with no wait! That is unheard of but hey, I'll take it. We even met 4 princesses in the matter of 10 minutes. Splash mountain was a walk on, as well as the haunted mansion. We decided to have a late lunch, early dinner at liberty tree tavern. Of course we had no reservations but they were able to seat us. The price point was really good for family style and the food wasn't that bad at all. To sum it up, by the end of the night we were exhausted and skipped some rides out of sheer tiredness. Needless to say I will be returning next year.

  2. It is slower cresting the first hill because Dollywood took out an entire section of LSM's when they determined the bottom of the first two hills were getting damaged from the force. I've been riding it since it opened and it is much slower going up and over the first hill once they removed those LSM's. However, the rest of the ride feels the same.

  3. so. . . via a personal message from Six Flags Fiesta Texas Park President Jeffrey Siebert, yesterday afternoon? apparently they have heard the complaints regarding what happened to the food options in Sangerfest Halle (ie: they got really shitty). . and he sent me these snapshots of the menu boards, that I believe are back as of this coming Saturday. that's why I love this park. . .they actually LISTEN and adjust accordingly. (and yes. . those prices are nuts. *but* most of it is on the Meal Plan as options. . . which as of my last visit the only things being served in Sangerfest were Personal Pizza, Prepackaged Salad, and Fried Chicken Strips (all Meal options tho), and the split chicken you could buy for $19. So this is a huge step forward again.

  4. Just got back from a weekend trip to NJ and GAdv with a friend, first time there since...2015 or so, ish. Holy crap what has happened to this place? I've heard a lot of negativity about it lately, but kinda took it for just enthusiasts bitching about things; I've heard complaints about a lot of parks, after all. And Great Adventure used to be one of the good Six Flags parks! All the others I've been to have been at least decent lately, so GAdv couldn't be THAT bad, could it? The majority of the place looks like walking around a theme park in Fallout now. Rides that look like they haven't been painted in a decade, pavement tiles all cracked and broken and out of place. Nothing looks kept up. Half of one end of the park is fenced off. The scenery in the Western area for some reason seems to be in much better shape but the rides there aren't any better off. We had SIX rides break down either while we were on them or right before we got on. After we got off the lift hill on The Dark Knight, none of the effects turn on, and they stopped us at the first brake for 10 minute, before turning the lights on and announcing someone would be coming to walk us off the ride...right before the released the car and let us back into the station. Wonder Woman, Superman, the log flume, Medusa, Kingda Ka, and Zumanjaro (oops...that's seven, not six) all broke down while we were waiting for them; some relatively short breakdowns, some where they completely closed the ride and cleared out the line. I know no one expects great food at Six Flags but every other one I've been to has at least been acceptable the last couple years. The burger I grabbed at Garden State Grill was borderline inedible, on top of the staff there having no idea what they were doing. My friend attempted to order one of the hard ciders they had advertised; the cashier gave him a deer-in-the-headlights look for a while before deciding he couldn't sell alcohol, and going looking for someone who could, which ended up with us getting out of line and into the other register line for someone who could sell it, only to get to the front of that and be told they didn't actually have any. Then then managed to lose our order; we have to go back up with the receipt later and get them to track it down. With how upset it made my stomach after I wish I hadn't. I don't like coming around here to be negative. There's already enough of that. I tend to really enjoy even parks that other people look down on; I've gotten amused reactions for posting excited reports from Dorney and Worlds of Fun. I just can not find much good to say about GAdv now though; I haven't seen a park so badly run and cared for in years. Good points, I guess, some of the rides there are still pretty great when they're running. Jersey Devil was fun, Medusa was running amazing (until it broke), Kingda Ka is still pretty awesome. I don't know if the park needs money, a complete change of management, both, something else...I know it's been a hard time for parks but I've been to a couple dozen the last couple years now anyway and I haven't seen anything this bad. Someone please save this place before Kingda Ka falls over!

  6. ^ Great name, Chuck! You add that evil smelling rat/mouse/whatever inside coaster, and that Toad Hill Shoot the Chute (kinda), and it's a whole different side of London, LOL! The Ultimate's lift hill to .........? TPR 2010 UK Tour. Nope. Once was enough, thankeuuuuuuuuuuuuu. What it was named, on the TPR 2006 UK Tour. That other .... uh .... ride. Mmmm green water. 2006 UK Tour.

  8. I don't really do trip reports anymore (does anyone?) but we finally visited this wonderful park again for the first time since pre-Covid to (finally!!) check out Pantheon as well as the parks now-happening (thru Sept 12th) Bier Fest, and as expected we had a great time. Can you go wrong with beers and new Intamin hotness? The threat of rain all week kept crowds super light and we managed to stay in the park open to almost close on Saturday and again from open on Sunday til about 4pm. During that time it only rained once for about 20 minutes. The longest we waited for anything all weekend was maybe 20-25 minutes for the front row of Pantheon. In short, Bier Fest was magnificent and Pantheon is insane. For the event, you can buy a $40 lanyard that gets you ten 6oz samples of beer, and while the weather was mostly sunny/partly cloudy it was humid AF so we found ourselves dipping into both the Festhaus and Grogans Pub to soak up the air conditioning and fill up on samples. At both spots we found random locals brewers were popping in to talk about their breweries and give out more samples so of course we were trying all of those too. Lots and lots of beer samples. Soooo how about a few photos of the world's most beautiful theme park? Or uhhhh... the place we always go before Virginian theme parks... Yippee! Feels good to be back at one of my favorite parks anywhere. Grogans Grill and their dollar hot dogs were the real MVP of our weekend. Shout out to the cashiers for not enforcing the 2-per-transaction rule. It's like 11am and I'm already double-fisting! Was great to finally meet Chuck/ @cfc after all these years and share some rides and brews! We always start the weekend at Griffon. This ride is so good. At some point we made our way to the craft hall in the Festhaus. Because you need something to soak up all the beer. You can use your Bier Fest lanyard to sample ANY of these 30 taps or anything on tap at Grogans. @coasterbillstill got a flight PSA: Alpengeist is the best invert. Some of these are just screenshots from videos I took for an Instagram reel. At least Lochness Monster looks good... Alright enough f*cking around, time for this absolute insanity. Pantheon is excellent and shot right into my favorite coasters. Great pacing, unique forces, not a moment wasted. I only ever rode in the front (or close to the front) but there is air all over this thing. The backwards launch is downright absurd. The operations left a little to be desired after experiencing the well oiled crew at VelociCoaster late last year but they were cranking trains pretty quickly. The trains are comfy, and as a larger dude I had no issues and didn't really have to be stapled on any of my rides. There is so much to like about this ride. The zero-G after the first launch is loaded with hang time and the outward bunny hops are good fun and a great way to get things started. The stall feels like it goes on forever, and in the front of the train we were getting some intense ejector at the top of the outward banked hill over the Rhine River. The missus, who we thought might not even ride this, not only rode multiple times but also declared it as one of her all times favorites by the weekends end and is still talking about it three days later. Thumbs up from row 1. I know you're dying to ask - How did it compare to VelociCoaster? Beyond the fact that they're both new Intamins with multiple launches, top hats and stalls? They're pretty different rides. I do prefer VC overall. I like Tempesto, but we never made it on. I didn't get any photos of Apollo, but that we did ride a bunch and it was phenomenal as usual. We did ride this fabulous contraption a few times as well thanks to the low crowds and non-existent wait. At some point on Sunday we finally made a stop at the black forest and for the first time ever I was treated to a walk-on for this ride. Still one of my favorites here but after some beers the indoor section actually gave me a little vertigo and a skipped a re-ride with the group. Shout out to @PKI Jizzman Thanks for reading. Sorry if some of the photos are small. Go check out Bier Fest if you can!

  9. Yeah, lots of people believe that they're going around and routinely sprucing up the parks just because they keep saying that they are but that's questionable at-best and absolute BS at worst.

  11. I'm curious how you came to mention Paris. The latest data I can find is from 2020 and Paris is ranked 17th in most visited parks in the world. Disneyland is number 12 with over 1.5 million more annual visitors. In 2019, a normal year pre-covid, Disneyland (rank #2 on earth) had almost DOUBLE the attendance of Paris (rank #17, unchanged). Tokyo, Shanghai, even friggin Chimelong Ocean Kingdom are ranked higher than Paris. At least in the NFL you get first draft pick for being the worst. Six Flags gets Larson Loops.

  12. What a clusterfuck. rachelmadcow has been given a timeout. If anyone continues this conversation without doing it in an adult, civil way the same thing will happen to them. Why is everyone so pissed off about everything all the time lately? Relax...

  13. I can understand that. In my early 20's the city seemed more innocent. I visited nice areas, and the blinders were secured firmly to my face. There are very fun areas in the city, but the raiders are always paying visits. I'm 37 now, and I've seen a lot. The lawlessness has exploded since 2014. When I do to take my family into the city, I do so with law abiding protection and I'm always alert.

  15. Let's not overlook that $14 "processing fee" that Six Flags is sneaking in there. More ways to squeeze out every drop of money, and something to not overlook when trying to make a baseline comparison of ticket prices across parks.

  16. No hate from this guy. Also I would have taken Wicked Twister in a heartbeat had they relocated it. This reimagining of Zambezi Zinger is original and not a cloned coaster such as a raptor. Not throwing shade on a raptor either. I just think you gotta be excited when something original comes to your park that hasn’t ever been done before.

  17. Uh, I am sorry, but Indiana Beach literally did exactly what you just described. Anything can be for sale, and any modern company could recreate it way better than what is essentially a junior Prowler. Hell, remove the spiral lift and add a family friendly launch to modernize it, that would fit the need more than this. This is a turd.

  18. And how would you propose doing that, given that the original coaster is now operating in another park (in a third-world country to boot, so you know maintenance hasn't been done), has recently had a major incident, and is by a long-defunct manufacturer? Seriously people, think before you speak.

  19. Interesting to see (at least in the renderings) that this ride isn't entirely Titan Track. Large sections of it are, but there are a lot of wood track sections too. I would think that it would either be entirely one or the other. Maybe a cost factor, or maybe as a furthering test of Titan Track and it's capabilities?
