  1. I really hope Kumba is not going anywhere! I will be devastated! That was the coaster that got me hooked! I had never ridden a roller coaster, but the paper in my home town had Kumba on the front page. I KNEW I had to ride it! June 12, 1993 was my first trip to Busch Gardens, and was so excited to finally ride it! We rode Scorpion and Python, (and all the other rides) to work my way up to it. As we were walking to get into the queue, a train flew over the g-roll and down to the Cobra Roll, and I said “Nope!” I ended up not riding it that day. I finally talked my parents into taking me again later that summer to ride. I managed one ride that day, because it was so insane! To this day, it is probably the coaster that I have the most rides on. Wish I had thought back then to keep count So mad than I can’t get down there any sooner than June. Don’t remember if I’ve posted it in here, but here’s my car, Kumba!

  2. That color scheme is the most Six Flags thing in that it's devoid of anything resembling taste.

  4. First I would like to apologize to anyone I may have offended a while back. I was off my meds and needed a break. Meds are back and I haven't caused a scene in a while, so again, apologies for acting like an idiot. I'll take responsibility for it! I have a question for Carowinds regulars. I will be in the Charlotte area on Thursday March 31 where park hours are 9-6. I won't be there until noon. Is 6 hours enough time to get on all the big rides (I have season long FastLane, so that will help)? I would think the park wouldn't be crazy busy due to the shorter hours, but Spring Break and all can bring larger crowds than usual. I would also assume skipping Ricochet will be part of the plan if the line is long since it is not on FL, but it seems like most of the other coasters and flats I am interested in are on FL. Having never been to the park, I look forward to checking it out and finally riding Fury 325. I appreciate any helpful info!

  5. I honestly, really think, that the coaster-riding public, doesn't give a flying f about the "color scheme" etc. They want a thrilling coaster ride. Period. IMhO.

  7. I really don't think this has been explained. I didn't create the program but will give it a go. An example: Person 1 rates El Toro #1, followed by 3 steel coasters and then Phoenix. Person 2 rates Phoenix #1, followed by one wood coaster that no one else likes and then Toro. In overall rankings, El Toro would beat Phoenix because the 3 steel coaster spread is larger than that one wood coaster. But in wood rankings, Phoenix wins because the steel coasters cease to exist. This is a simplification at best, but shows a system it could happen. If you pull out the woodies from the overall list, you get a result based on how people rate them relative to all coasters. However the actual woodie list assumes the order in peoples' rankings wouldn't change, but pulls out the steelies in advance and reruns the program from scratch. May seem flawed but it is more a true woodies list then.

  10. You have to walk by the whole park to get to the entrance from the USF la quinta. You are right, about 2 miles total to the entrance, plus 2 miles back, plus another 2 miles to do 1 lap around the park. The walk back probably won't be so fun, and if you're doing it at night, I would say at least take a Uber back to the hotel. Save on 2 additional miles of walking after a long day, and as others have said it's not the greatest of areas. I don't think you'll get mugged taking a walk down McKinley but if you're doing it alone I would probably feel a little uneasy at night.

  11. The park is really in an iffy part of Tampa I hope you don’t end up with massive hospital bills from getting mugged because you wanted to save a few bucks from renting a car or uber and wanted to walk to the park

  15. I'm just going to chime in here and say Saint Louis is a crime ridden shithole. Bert, I'm sorry. I've been here for 37 years. It may be fun to visit, but it's not nice to stay. We may have the city museum, a nice zoo, and a lot of other fun 'attractions,' but no one is rushing to this area to raise a family. This area has been depressed for years. I personally like a lot of things about our park, but it also needs a lot of work. You come from one of the best parks in the chain. SFFT has gotten a considerable amount of attention in the last decade. SFFTL got a used boomerang. In the meantime, they took away Splash Boats, Antique cars... and half... of our Go-Karts. The carrousel is rightfully being renovated, but even that is currently not operating. Xcaliber was SBNO for two years. American Thunder is arguably the last real exciting attraction the park received. I'm not really complaining about our park. It's fine. Personally, I don't give a shit. But, it's not cool to criticize the rightfully-so jaded long time members of this thread.... Except for the "Corporate hates our park" guy. Criticize away, because he'd hilarious.

  16. it's a Six Flags with two unique flats (Catwoman, and Xcalibur) found no where else in the chain, and several really great wooden coasters (also unique in the Six Flags chain). it's a real shame you don't appreciate the park for what it is, and what St. Louis has.

  17. Well that’s subjective. But if that’s the case then someone better tell Universal that their marketing would be more effective for Velocicoaster if the track was neon orange

  18. Grey and black was the best. I also loved the all-black Batman schemes. Don’t know why SF is so against any dark, non super flashy color scheme.

  19. It's a war crime. Tatsu, presented by Nickelodeon Slime Time Live. I also noticed that Medusa's repaint is going to be bright orange and green too. I think American Dream Mall had a crap load of Nick Universe paint left over and sold it to Six Flags for cheap.
