Ed
They must've replaced Jubilee with a BRAND new SLC the day before you got there. Â Hahaha can you imagine they wanted to build that ride even taller? Like 250ft....
robbalvey
Well, I will say it wasn't "smooth", but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Which is was shocked us. We totally thought it would be *DEATH* Â But we've certainly been on much rougher Vekoma's, and rougher SLCs. Â --Robb "Nothing was as bad as Gouderix!" cfc
^So, that makes three good Vekomas for you on the UK trip? Who'd a thunk it? (I know that I was pleasantly surprised by Kumali, but the Corkscrew variations lived down to my expectations.)

Wor Viney- son
YOU LUCKY PEOPLE... I MEAN TPR!!! I went to Fantasy Island on my bday and I was on holiday and they said that the MASSIVE SLC was closed due to high winds. I was heart broken... ! Its such a shame I didnt go earlier... for 2 reasons! Â 1. It be so GREAT to meet the TPR gang! I have read every single review on every park since the beginning of the year 2. You could have got me on that SLC! It was the coaster I was waiting for, for over 9 months
martinb
I'm glad you enjoyed your time at good ol' Skeggy. Â Fantasy Island has some unique rides, shame the park its self is pretty bad. Â Just think, if the original plans for JO weren't turned down, it would have been the 2nd tallest coaster in the world, and its an SLC
DerekRx
^We waited almost 4 years to ride it since it was closed on our last visit. I was figuring it would be a cha-ching and move on, but it was actually pretty enjoyable. I've been on worse, and I actually rode this thing like 4 times, only getting my head smacked in the same spot, the sidewinder. Other than that, it was really cool! martinb
only getting my head smacked in the same spot, the sidewinder  Same here!  Even though its only 170ft, its seems alot taller when your up the top.  I'm off to Skeggy for the Weekend in the morning, but as the holidays have passed al the big rides at FI will probably be closed.  Did anyone gon the water slide indoors? Riding that thing front row going into the fog was really awesome! I was amazed..a GREAT way to start off our Pre Pre UK trip! It was awesome! Rode it like what..6 times in a row...? Haha! jpekari
Wow six times in a row????? I would think that would hurt like hell!!! I rode A normal SLC four times in a row, and I didn't remember what happened in the last five minutes!!! Well you Guy's and Elissa said it it was smooth?!?Well mabey all vekoma rides arent that bad. OldJJman
I liked it quite a bit as well. Â I actually can't think of a standard SLC that I've been on that was smoother. Â Like Robb said, we were already expecting the worst, and it was no where near that. Â Then there was "smooth as a baby's bottom" - Kumali!! Â JO was good. Kumali was great! jpekari
LIKED A GIANT SLC????? Wow that sounds just wrong. Â Go on the SLC at sfne and you might think different. That monster bashes your head so much it should be called Mind Be Gone instead of Mind Eraser. Whitch is a prety apropriot name for it. Â It is deffinately "smooth as a baby's bottom"

martinb
^ Theres only 2 in the whole wide world: Â http://www.rcdb.com/installationresult.htm?column=1,10,3,4,5&order=1,2&model=31 Â Â JO was good. Kumali was great! Â You serious??
thomas2
Wow I watched the POV of Thunder Coaster and I must say I'm impressed by it's smoothness. That final brake run looks very smooth; the train nor track doesn't appear to move a bit! Â Vekoma woodies are the best
viking86
Thundercoaster smooth??? HAHA! Its nowhere near smooth! Its not that rough in the rain, but it still throws you around like crazy (which I like). But in good weather, Thundercoaster is one of the most uncomfortable coasters I have ever ridden. The entire coaster feels like its going to shake itself apart, and its a spine-adjuster at the bottom of every hill. Â My guess is that the wood bends a bit more when its wet so the transitions arent as abrupt in the rain. Â Damn you Tusenfryd for contacting Vekoma to supply the trains when the coaster wasnt designed for them! Â Yngve "Is still confused about Robb's comment about crazy airtime in the front seat" Oestbye
robbalvey
^ Yeah, it's definitely not "smooth", the mounted lipstick camera makes it look that way in the video, but it's one of those rides where the amazing airtime all over the place makes the roughness a little more forgiving. Â And as for my comments, all I know is that I've been there to the park two years in a row, and that ride delivered just some crazy amazing airtime! And yes it was better in the rain (or when it was wet), but it still delivered a pretty awesome ride when it was dry too. Â I do prefer the front seat. That INSANE ejector airtime you got in 3 or 4 places on the ride was almost "Balder quality." Â --Robb
viking86
Hmmm I have been riding Thundercoaster every year for the last 4 years now, but I have only ridden it once in the front seat (april this year) and I just remember coming off and thinking it was kinda 'meh' and everyone else seems to think its better in the backseat so I havent bothered riding in the front again. Not when I can experience the OMFG moment you get on the little hill where they take the pictures in the backseat (only in the rain of course) Â When I rode it this summer it was after a month of dry weather so that should explain the crappy ride. It was absolutely horrible. Thank god for the heavily padded seats! Â Its a shame that I didnt get to ride it the first year because people say that it was amazing that year. And it didnt have the seatbelts....
robbalvey
^ Everyone has different opinions...some people perfer the back, some people perfer the front...no one is right or wrong. *shurg* Â --Robb
Archie_1990
Hey Robb, I see 5 inversions on Jubilee Odessey, but RCDB says that there are 6. I'm confused.
SharkTums
I think they're counting the 'overbanked turn'. Â A lot of times SLC's also count that they have 7 inversions!!!

coaster05
As far as thundercoaster goes I got a dry ride earlier in the day and several in the rain later, but I found both to be excellent. Course I do have a high tolerance for roughness, and I would 99% of the time prefer roughness to braking.
