robbalvey Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Hey everyone! This is an idea that Elissa and I have been bouncing around for a while now, and considering that we're running out of the old "Donkey" T-Shirts we figured we'd give this a try! Here is the idea..... We need a design for a new Theme Park Review T-Shirt and we're giving YOU an opportunity to design it!!! Your shirt can be funny, it can be serious, it can be site related, it can be coaster related, it could be simple, it could be crazy, whatever YOU think it should be! There is no limit to the amount of designs you can submit as long as they all fall within the following guidelines. You can post the .jpg version of your idea here, but please read ALL of the following rules before starting your work. Here are the guidelines: 1. You are designing the BACK of the T-Shirt. We will stick with the traditional TPR logo for the front. 2. All artwork used on the shirt must be YOUR OWN artwork! You cannot use clip art, you cannot use a photo. 3. If you want to use a photo as "reference" it must be YOUR OWN photo. 4. If your T-shirt is chosed, the artwork MUST be submitted in a high-res format ready to print on a T-Shirt. We suggest designing your shirt in either raster program such as Adobe Photoshop or a vector art program such as Adobe Illustrator. If you are designing in a raster program, make sure you design actual size at at least 150dpi, but 300dpi would be preferable. 5. Design must have 4 or less unique colors, no gradients, no photographs, no tiny halftones. T-Shirts will be printed on Black & White colored shirts (possibly gray) so keep that in mind when designing your image. The color of the tee shirt does not count toward the four color limit but the colors you choose for your image should work well for all shirt colors. 6. If you are using photoshop you will NEED to submit a "layered .psd" version of your shirt if you are the winner. 7. You may submit a .jpg version of your shirt to this thread for everyone to see and get comments on, but if we use your shirt idea, you MUST have the high-res version ready to send to us! 8. Remember that overly complex or busy designs don't always translate well to a T-Shirt. I'd also think twice about using a lot of small text, but those are just suggestions. 9. MOST IMPORTANT! Please keep in mind that producing a shirt is a VERY costly venture and Robb & Elissa reserve the right to make the final decision on the winning T-Shirt design. There may even be a chance we could decide NOT to go with a contest entry for our next T-Shirt if it turns out none of the entries meet our criteria. Regardless the goal is to have FUN designing a TPR shirt even if it doesn't appear plastered on someone's naked body! Ok, I think that's it. I hope you all like the idea of this contest and we look forward to seeing your entries! --Robb GADZOOX.zip TPR Font
Homer Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 An attempt on a basic T-Shirt design... ADMIN EDIT! Pulled shirt design. It suggests breaking park rules. NO!
trustkill22 Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Could I please know the font you use on the TPR logo thats on the front???
benzo41190 Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 ^I think it is called Goudy Stout/Stouty Gout or something like that
DATman Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 ^^^^^ You misspelled traveling I did mine wrong anyway, so I'm just taking it out...
Token Yankee Guy Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Ok, after a few trial and errors here's my submission. Now, I also have in the .PSD layers format. Do I need to e-mail to you, or will you guys ask for the original file from the winner when you guys pick one?
robbalvey Posted June 7, 2006 Author Posted June 7, 2006 Could I please know the font you use on the TPR logo thats on the front??? I attached it to the first post. --Robb
robbalvey Posted June 7, 2006 Author Posted June 7, 2006 Just as a note - one of the reasons I suggested not much text is because you have to keep in mind that we have a lot of international members here also. What might work well on a T-shirt in the US might not translate well to other countries. That was one of the reasons our initial shirt was more of a "graphic" design rather than text-based. Just FYI. --Robb
CP_RULES Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I probably wont be entering because I dont have the best software for designing a t-shirt (Microsoft Picture It 2002), but I was wondering, can anyone take me step by step of how to install TT fonts? I have the installer but I can never really get it to work, and have been wondering for a long time. Much appreciated, -Justin Seabaugh
DATman Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I wish I had some good software to do it. Oh well, I'll stick to film.
SLUSHIE Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 can anyone take me step by step of how to install TT fonts? You just take the file and put it in the C:/WINDOWS/fonts folder. If you have windows anyway. WAFFLES! WAFFLES!!!!
Angry_Gumball Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I know you said no photos but if we scanned a drawing we did on paper, would that work?
robbalvey Posted June 7, 2006 Author Posted June 7, 2006 ^ Yeah, that would be fine. And also, keep in mind when I say "no photos" it means we're not going to print a photo, but if you want to use a photo you've taken, for example, gray scale it and use it as a backfround image for something else, that would be fine too. I don't want to "limit" what people might want to create, but there does need to be some restrictions. --Robb
Angry_Gumball Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 K, thanks! Maybe I can put my artwork to use. Ok, this is as simple as it gets colorwise. Sorry that it's not what you'd consider funny, but serious is good as well. As mentioned, I'd put my artwork to use besides making a nice picture to hang on the wall. Hope you all like it. Think now...a hand drawn coaster on your t-shirt...sounds good? This one..... .....or this one
arrowfanman Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Thats an awesome sketch! Good job man! I might sketch an idea or two...I'm not proficient in making anything on the computer, but I'll try. Perhaps I'll have someone else help me. -Jahan p.s. When is the due date?
SideWindZ Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 How about a "The Video Store on the Corner of Lincoln and Olympic!" t shirt btw, if *Angry_Gumball wins, I'm a buyer!
c0sterfreek Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Angry_Gumball you rock. Thats a kick ass drawing!
sixflagsmagicmountain Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Yeah, Yours is really cool, If it wins, I will buy one for sure.
robbalvey Posted June 7, 2006 Author Posted June 7, 2006 Guys, seriously. This isn't a "Photoshop Contest" this is a REAL chance to design our next T-Shirt. So far we've had an entry about breaking park rules, and now the above 'photo' which is out of the guidelines. Please try to take this somewhat seriously or we'll just close this and chalk it up to a "bad idea" --Robb
