Okay, I'm really mad! My friend just told me that Dueling Dragons was the worst ride he's ever been on! I decided to make this poll to prove him that it is actually one of the best rides. I also loved Kraken at Sea World and would like your opinion.

My first Inverted Invert was also the best!

I don't see a poll, but in my opinion Kumba beats out all coasters in the state of Florida. The older the coaster the better it is from B&M.

Posted

Ok, you should feel lucky I'm home sick and bored as hell...I added the poll in. I don't think I missed any major coasters...Erik, you can correct the poll if I did.

I didn't include any kiddie credits or comedy options, so you all guys who wanted to put Uncle Bernie's Haunted Mine are SOL.

My vote goes to Fire.

well i dont know how to vote in pole but if i did i would vote for deuling dragons. Not because they are the best invert ive ever been on but the overall experience is very immersive and well designed.BUT if i had to chose a coaster in FL(not counting themeing) it would have to be hulk.

i know you said you arent counting kiddie credits but Flying Unicorns is an Awesome kiddie coaster

^I would agree!

1. Kumba

2. Kraken

3. Montu (w/o trims)

4. Hulk-IOA

5. Sheikra

Spot on! I totally agree with that. I might even be crazy enough to rank Gwazi 5th and Sheikra 6th. I probably ride Gwazi 10 times every time I visit BGA.

^Yeah, that's a pretty good ranking there. How, it just occured to me how Florida may be really hot, giant bug ridden, swampy, and hurricane fodder, but its also got some really great coasters! Guess its true, you don't know what you've got until its gone. Great, now I have an urge to listen to Cinderella...stupid polls.

SheiKra, but I've yet to ride Everest...

Its Disney, its nothing special, and anyone who thought it might be should shoot themself in the foot because they're setting themselves up for a big dissappointment. Although I will say that it is slightly more intense then the average Disney Ride, but nothing on the scale of any BMer, but none the less... its fun.

Anywho....

I vote Kumba. For a short while I was thinking I liked Kraken a little better, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked Kumba. I even had cravings to ride it for like a whole 2 weeks after my week in florida. Really tells you something when you have the need just to ride one ride.

I've got to go with SheiKra on this one. Best floatjector airtime on a coaster I've ever ridden (floater air that feels like ejector, a little term I made up, haha).

SheiKra is the only "hyper" of Florida, but it serves the bill well. Excellent ride - and almost never any lines!

I was going to vote Hulk, but I realized a minute ago that I like SheiKra's air just a little better than Hulk's power. Time to go change those top 10 ratings

As for the poster above, I actually enjoyed EE. The backwards section took my by surprise in terms of its intensity, and I thought that the theming was top notch as well as unique. EE was alot of fun for me, and I value the amout of fun I have on a coaster higher than I value the actual forces. If something makes me laugh or happy, I'm going to rate it high - and in that respect, EE rates pretty damned high.

I Voted Kumba, with Montu close behind.

I think that Sheikra and Expedition Everest are kinda boring. They do have their moments, but they have no pacing. They both do something kind of entertaining, then do something boring, then do something kind of entertaining again. Whereas Kumba is pretty damn entertaining the whole time.

Kumba is a bit dull to me, if for no other reason than I've ridden the same layout on 3-4 other coasters.

Montu is a bit more exciting, but I hate the batwing trims and the MCBR really kills the "pacing" you say exists throughout the ride.

I will say that SheiKra's MCBR does the same thing, and SheiKra tends to be heavily braked, but SheiKra does something that few coasters do, unique "tricks" so to speak, whereas Kumba and Montu are simply bigger/slightly different versions of common coasters.

Thanks for attacking me for stating my opinion.

The Pacing was refering to Kumba, whos MCBR you fly through.

Whatver coasters that you refering to that Kumba is similar to, Kumba was built before all of them.

What are these tricks you speak of?

The lack of love for Kraken makes me a sad boy. I love Montu and SheiKra, I really like Hulk and Kumba, and I like RnR and Python: but just thinking of Kraken makes me feel funny in my bathing suit area...

I voted for SheiKra... when we went to BGA, we didn't get a chance to go to Kumba because the park was so crowded.

Here's my list:

1a.DD-Fire

1b.DD-Ice

1c.Montu

4a.Kumba

4b.Sheikra

4c.The Hulk

4d.Kraken

4e.The Mummy

I know, I took the easy way out, but there's just so many quality coasters in central Florida.

Note: For voting purposes, I chose DD-Fire.

I have already posted my top coaster(s) in Fl. for this thread, but I would like to point out that I have noticed there are ALOT of references to "KUMBA"..lol

I'm not sure if everyone is actually voting on it, but the responses (on Kumba) appear to be quite high.

It really depends on each of our individual tastes/preferences. I just feel that the overall ride quality, theming, the layout, and quality elements make Kumba a perfect choice. Also, it has a tunnel, a helix (sort-of) and the loop going "around" the lift is quite impressive, not to mention how it goes over and under guests (bridges) as the photo opportunities it has.
