Haha sorry guys.

I inadvertently corrected a Sky Ride operator on the frequency of Von Roll Sky Ride cable replacement yesterday. I'm in no position to criticize someone's dorkiness in regards to any ride type ever. Don't apologize to me.

To make room for the respectable coaster that's under construction, a 24 wheel platform moved this pile of sh*t to the east end of the pier. Sadly the move was successful and they didn't "accidentally" drop it into the Atlantic Ocean for the insurance money. Personally I would have wheeled it to Morey's in the middle of the night as a practical joke but I guess they don't have much of a sense of humor.

^ The Atlantic Ocean would probably talk to all the hurricanes and tropical storms to make sure it washes back on shore perfectly intact.

That's actually pretty neat that they moved it that way.

Now you know Morey's would have managed to squeeze it in where that crappy maze was this year near Great White, themed the living sh*t out of the inside with some scare actors in there for the cherry on top.

... aaaand I was wrong!

Well, partially. This is still a Gerstlauer, still an Infinity coaster trackwise... but the trains are Eurofighters:

So it's like Krater:

But not like Monster, or Karacho, as I thought:

We can also spot shin-guards, as the row are closer together than an Infinity, and this one don't have a plastic shield like the other Eurofighter. I hope those won't be disruptive.

Of course the guy who owns the deck the video was shot from is named "Nick Dionisio". I'll bet anyone who lives in Seaside named Nick Dionisio GTL's on the daily and has a strong fist pumping game to offset his non existent gas pumping game.

Yeah, perhaps the trains are just missing their shells.

Posted

No, I think the shell is there, but protected in cartboard and plastic tarp. As I mentionned, it has shinguards, that means no higher shell.

Judging from those trains and the lift hill structure, i'd definitely say this is a Eurofighter and not an Infinity as listed on RCDB. Not as though that matters much, it's going to be a solid coaster regardless!

This drone footage in the attached article was released before local authorities banned drones from flying over the construction site. It provides a good visually representation of where the pier is expanding.

Yeah I realized that after I posted it. Either way, it should be a nice addition to the Jersey shoreline. At this point I'm left wondering if it will have lapbars or OTSRs.

(and can a mod update the subtitle to eurofighter?)

No, it's still an Infinity track.

EDIT: Added the "I'm just kidding" mark. It's just that I love spending time looking at the differences between Eurofighters and Infinity - as you can tell with my previous messages on this topic. The line between the two is not clear anyway. In the end, I think this coaster can be called an Eurofighter, but it does have the track developed by Gerstlauer for Infinity coasters (and the subtitle was refering to the track, so I pointed out that it was already right). No hard feelings.

^ Oh damn I didn't realize you were a moderator, my bad.

This moderator would rather tell you to have an early beer for the holidays than fulfill your request!

An Infinity coaster called Eurofighter--that's sure to muddy the waters. I doubt the layout will be exactly like any of the coasters in the video; seems that they used that footage in lieu of an animated layout. The elements they named will be there, but we don't know what it will actually look like at this point. Still, an Infinity coaster with those elements is sure to be good enough I think I want to stop by. I'm already planning to hit up Morey's in my PA/NJ trip next year, and this isn't too far away.

When they say there's going to be an "Immelman Turn," I'm not sure if they're for some reason talking about the cutback on the 320 models that's kind-of-sort-of an inversion, or an actual immelman. The length is also different from the 320 models, so I think this might actually be custom.

Gerstlauer calls the cutback an "immelman turn". The park confirmed on facebook it will be custom to fit their space, I imagine that will mean it will be 320 - helix. It will be the shortest Eurofighter to date.
