ParkTrips Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Pretty sure it's not a Star flyer but OMG I need a tissue
Nrthwnd Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Oh my.... What will those European designers come up with next???
Canobie Fan Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 ::O! SEXY... I really want to try that style now. I rode Prater back in 04 and it was cool.. It must be way better laying down.
DerekRx Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Looks to me like they just forgot to check for all the parts before assembling the ride. When they got done, they realized they were missing the seats so instead they just put a hook at the end of the chains and attach it to your belt. As much as the StarFlyer will freak me out when I finally ride one, this would do it twice over! I wonder how landing in one of these is, Wave Swingers and Yo-yos can be kinda dangerous.
Jeezus Juice Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Well, we knew there was going to be a line somewhere...There's mine everybody!!!! Will...never...ride...ever... -Don ...ever...
martinb Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Now that looks like fun, but I've still got to try the normal Star Flyer. Has there ever been any accidents on any of these crazy rides? I imagine that if the flying one was to turn up at a park it would be a pay per ride attraction as the capacity would be very low! I think it would be one of them rides that would make me VERY nervous before riding but when it starts I'd be ok, maybe. I really think you've got to have guts to ride it.
CoasterJunkie Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Ok, I agree with someone else...that is way over my "limit". I have ridden the Star Flyer in Orlando. Nervous as hell to start, but once I got up there, I was fine. It was windy, and the movement of the swings is kind of odd, but I would do it again!! This...no friggin way. I wont even do SkyCoaster.
BorisTF Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I'd do one of these.... Imagine one going on Stratosphere Tower though :-/
martinb Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 My palms are now very sweaty! It shouldn't be on top of it, it should be around the perimeter of the tower at the top, if you get what I mean. I think even a normal Waveswinger up there would make me think twice!
msep003 Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 I wonder how landing in one of these is, Wave Swingers and Yo-yos can be kinda dangerous. The ride stop at the top of the ride and then it goes down without any rotation . I've never been on it and i will never go on this ride . It was like 30 Euros for a ride and i wouldn't pay so much to try that crazy thing .
FLIPDUDE Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I would totally ride that. Of course, It would scare the pants off me, and then I'd jsut be some creepy kid flying aorund in his boxers, but then again, that can be quite fun. ...I need to wear tearaway pants next time I'm at the amusement park.
VegasCoaster Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Typhoon Video Here is a video of it in action from that lovely Belgian traveling fair site. This thing looks awesome, and unfortunately the odds of riding one in the US must be sky high. Think of all the waivers and the line that would make.
FLIPDUDE Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Great idea for NO PANTS DAY tomorrow! ha ha, you think theyll allow being pantsless in an amusement park? I dont live in the US so I dont know the rules and regulations of no pants day
BudtheWeiser Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Erm having watched that video no way in hell id go on that flying high held up by a piece of string no thanks
The Riddler Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I've done that ride last week at the funfair in Paris with the person who filmed it. It is a verry nice ride en scary on 40m hight above the funfair haning on two steel cabels. But, I love the ride. It is expensive but nice because there is only one of theme on this moment.
