martinb Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Is it: Height Speed Amount of Inversions Types of Inversions Drop Type of train Airtime + G's - G's If you could take any parts from any type of coaster from all over the world and gel them togerther what would they be? E.G. Sheikra's drop with Balder's airtime and Colossus' quad Inline twists
coasterlover420 Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Height Speed Type of Train Drop I think the ultimate coaster would be TTD stard W/ a SR finish and then A second launch with a mirror tower right next to the first one so the trains race up the towers and end behind the station(s). That would be SWEET! (not to mention expensive!)
CP_RULES Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I think the thing that makes a good coaster is the complete flow of the coaster. Whether it be many inversions, or a hyper, a good coaster has good flow. For instance, a coaster like MF has no boring slow parts, and there is always something cool in-between air-time hills, and overbanked curves. I think a cool coaster would be a MF drop, combined w/ B&M inversions, Morgan airtime, and CCI/GCI/GG twisted-ness. (Maybe even some awesome Intamin transitions too!) Thats just my opinion.
Angry_Gumball Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 For me, it would have to be a mix of everything or most of everything: Speed, lats, out of control feeling, painless, and of course, stomach-tingling airtime.
Spookbaby Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 well airtime is important, and then theres airtime. Also, some good airtime is nice and wait... did I mention AIRTIME?
coaster1 Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Airtime, wood and hot Swedish Chicks .. or Dannish
BDG Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 1. Variation in height, speed, elements & g-forces. 2. Precision in calculating and building the ride. 3. Maintenance.
coasters 4 me Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 For me it is: Height Speed Drop G's I just love the feeling of being really high with just a simple lap bar or restraint holding you in. It is just full of adrenaline. I love SPEED. I love the wind that blows by you and through your hair on a really fast coaster. The drop is obviously the best part for most coasters. I just love Sheikras drop. It is such an adrenaline rush just siting there 200ft look straight down. And also the G's. I like positive G's but negatives are way better. I love airtime. But I like the occasional Lateral on a Woodie.
verticalzero Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 WOOD Drops Airtime with lots of G- and some G+ Build in a forest/side of a hill Headchoppers Constant speed Direction change
Eagle Rider Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 From the time I reach the top of the lift, my favorite coasters provide constant speed, relative smoothness, and air time (which can vary depending on many things). Overall I look for a ride with speed and a few surprises. A hill in the second half of a ride with good airtime will usually rate high in my book. I'm a woodie fan. Concerning steel: I look for a ride where the inversions are enjoyable and spaced out enough to be enjoyed.
MLRC7 CP Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 an Intamin or B&M strata coaster or higher w/ all types of g's, inversions, speed and no otsr's
CoasterFanatic Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 W - O - O - D Agreed. Seconded. Motion Carried. Next Question.
