USRoadTripper Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I'm claiming a single seat for myself on that ride right now! No way is heavy chick gonna share a seat with anyone and stress the chains any more than they already will be! hahaha -Julie
ParkTrips Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 awww Julie don't say that! BTW I totally forgot to check if the one in Orlando had backwards seats, I think THAT may be too much for me to handle anyways
Nrthwnd Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no. I don't ride that much on the 'regular' swings that operate in most parks. At my age, I can refuse what I want, damnit. Without reason, hah.
SharkTums Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 ^Wow, do you think Jeff will start using that excuse now!?!?
Guy T. Koepp Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Hey Robb, what was the major difference between riding a Starflyer and riding Insanity in Vegas. They both are really high off the ground and go real fast. Guy "Inquireing minds want to know." Koepp
DATman Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 ^One has lap bars/steel rods holding you in. The other has seat-belts and chains.
benzo41190 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I think the seats should rock back and forth kind of like a "rock o plane". But of course, there would probaly have to be OTSR's
Guy T. Koepp Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Belts and Chains! I love it! Guy "Sounds like my kind of ride." Koepp
Scaparri Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Just tried out the Starflyer yesterday. What a crazy, scary ride. It was a bit intimidating swinging so fast so high off the ground. Awesome ride though. -Scott "I'm going to deficate in my pants on Insanity in March" Parrish
ECZenith Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 The difference? About 1,000 feet of height. ;0) Seriously, I wouldn't be caught dead on either of those two rides. I can handle a coaster's height just fine, but when it comes to Starflyers, or ANYTHING on the Strat Tower, I just wouldn't be able to get myself to do it. MAYBE the "Big Shot" ride...
Guy T. Koepp Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Big shot is fun. The coaster sucked. Guy "I'm looking forward to what they put in next." Koepp
Guy T. Koepp Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Oh crap....does this mean I have to experience it as well in March?... Get Video Eric. Guy "Can't wait to see it." Koepp
nannerdw Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 what was the major difference between riding a Starflyer and riding Insanity in Vegas. Insanity faces you toward the ground, but the Star Flyer is more like a traditional spinning swing, only a lot higher and faster! Doesn't the Star Flyer also go up and down a few times once it is at the top?
nemesis-storm Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 FYI, I didn't get sick on it...it just completely terrified me!!! Tiny little chains, a bar, and 60mph 200 feet up!!!! I'm with you here Elissa. I would go on any coaster or almost any ride but those terrify me.
Canobie Fan Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Wow I dont see how a lot of you think its a scary ride. Maybe the 2 newer ones are faster then the one at Prater? I really didnt think it was that big of a deal and after it goes around a few times... It almost got old to me.. :-\ My best friend who went to Prater with me rode it and she loved it... It was the greatest thing ever to her but even after that (and a ride on the parks 100M slingshot) she still wont ride SROS at SFNE.
