PKD's Flight Of Fear Being Removed?

Recommended Posts

From Screamscape:

http://www.screamscape.com/html/paramount_s_kings_dominion.htm

(1/24/06) I’m kind of hoping that this rumor has just been overblown or just a mistake, but we’ve heard from a source that Flight of Fear may not be open when the park does in 2006. In fact... this source doesn’t believe that Flight of Fear will open at all in 2006. Anyone else heard something along these lines?

The ride is no longer listed on the park's attractions list:

And it was at the beginning of last season:

Interesting......

If this is really true, that would be horrid. I absolutely love Flight of Fear. I think its better than Volcano personally.

Grizzly is my favorite coaster there, then FoF. I think it'd be a big mistake, but there may be maintance problems with it that we don't know about.

That would be a bummer!

This coaster went from the worst I've ever ridden (nearly knocking me out!!!) to a really great ride!

At least it will hopefully be moved somewhere else if they do decide to get rid of it.

Maybe the park finally realized they had too many launched coasters?!?!?

Not impressed with the MTV Soundwave retheming that I read about when I took that survey awhile back.

It'll be a shame if this coaster is removed. I haven't tackled PKD's ride, just PKI's version and that was back in the opening year when it still had its OTS restraints (and people are calling EE rough?) and there was a 2-3 hour wait just to ride it!

I heard it was getting re-themed to MTV. Since Paramount owns the MTV side now.

Why would they take out FoF? They would be taken out as the world record holder for the most launched coasters!
