coasterbill
2001 Nacht already spent a season in rehab. Same with Power Surge. Other than Fying Turns, which took time to be built, there aren't any others that experienced long downtimes. This. Power Surge and 1001 Nacht are the two problem children of Knoebels. Everything else is very reliable.
SigilX
Another sad bit of news from Knoebels... From WNEP (an ABC affiliated local station) - "CLEVELAND TOWNSHIP -- Four campers at Knoebels Amusement Resort were sent to the hospital after part of a tree fell on their campsite. It happened at the campground at Knoebels around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. At the time, strong winds were reported in that area. The victims are from Northampton County. Three of the four victims remain in the hospital. Police say a 41-year-old man is in serious condition, an 11-year-old girl is in critical condition, and a 4-year-old girl is in fair condition. An 8-year-old boy was treated and released. Officials at Knoebels said that section of the campground has been closed off. “The campground is open, and the area that this occurred is currently closed for an ongoing investigation into the circumstances. Our first and foremost concern right now are for the individuals involved,” said Stacy Ososkie with Knoebels. Knoebels says Locust Township police are assisting in the investigation at the park along the Northumberland and Columbia County line." *** Sad event, but being in such a wooded area like the Knoebel's campsite, accidents can happen. Hopefully the family can recover soon.
coasterbill
Could a haunt maze be on the way? We heard there was a meeting to discuss a special addition for Hallo-Fun. Then, we noticed these stakes. Could this be the location of a ride that will be making an appearance during Hallo-Fun? Knoebels Facebook

WolfBobs
Going to be at the park this Sunday. Was curious for PA residents. Are most Weis stores "participating" stores for the $16 ride ticket booklets? I know I've read on here that the Danville location has them for sure, but that location would take me about 30 mins out of my way. Thanks for the help! WolfBobs
Driving from Cleveland to Allentown Saturday with my brother and nephews for Dorney, then spending the night in Drums with some friends, then heading to Knoebels on the way back to Cleveland Sunday. Planning on getting to the park around noon.
A.J.
If you're driving that way from the Hazleton area you'll be getting off Interstate 80 at 236A for Bloomsburg and PA-487. There's a Weis near downtown Bloomsburg on US-11, and another one in Catawissa on PA-42. Both are just a few blocks away from the route I would personally take doing that direction. Bloomsburg - https://goo.gl/maps/MuybJUgadSK2 Catawissa - https://goo.gl/maps/7XuTz7gajMD2 EDIT: Getting off at 241 and going south on US-11 will take you right by that one in Bloomsburg. Hop on PA-487 afterward and off you go. EDIT 2: I always spell Hazleton wrong... Edited August 24, 2016 by A.J.

I Like Theme Parks.
Today I had the best visit to the park so far! This time we brought some of our non-enthusiast friends, and they're now convinced that Knoebels is the best park ever. This time we tried some more foods. I finally had the amazing perogies, and they're even better than I expected. We also tried Cesari's, which is great, and of course we got the ice cream waffle sandwiches. The park was pretty crowded, but I didn't wait for more than 15 minutes for everything. Flying Turns was the only long unavoidable line, so I skipped that one. The workers were friendly, and the operations on the log flume and coasters were absolutely incredible! Even with the airgates on Phoenix, some of the dispatches were 20 seconds, but every one was less than a minute. Here's the ride list: Flyer - I've improved my snapping skills over the season, and I got a very consistent ride! At full speed, I snapped every single time the flyer went back up. Looper - Pretty good ride. I couldn't do a full loop, but I was hanging upside down for long periods of time. It's worth riding once, but it's nothing that special, especially by Knoebels flat ride standards. Power Surge Downdraft Whip - This is the best ride I've had on this whip. It's much stronger than I remember. It's a beautiful vintage ride that's kept up really well! Satellite - Awesome! This is definitely one of the top five flat rides here. Bumper Cars - The steering is a bit difficult because it's so old, but oh my god! The crashes here are awesome. They actually tilt when you bump hard. The cars on it also look super cool. Giant Flume - This one soaks you on the smaller first drop, but the rest isn't that wet. It has a great location and tunnel, and it's a lot of fun, even though it's a little too short in my opinion. Super Round-Up - The best round-up, aside from the ridiculous carnival ones. It tilts really far, and the ride is extremely long. Black Diamond Phoenix x 5 - back row three times, front, middle Twister x 3 - second-to-last row, back row, middle Impulse Another amazing trip to the best park ever! coneyislandchris
Spent the weekend out at Knoebels with the full family. It was pretty packed on both days due to miscellaneous factors; mainly a large employee appreciation event on Saturday, and a combination auto show and doggie dive event on Sunday. Even with the larger than expected crowds, operations were totally on point as they always are around here. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes for any ride between the two days, with the notable exception of Twister on Saturday; they were running both trains, but only loading the red one. The blue train was being sent around empty every cycle. Since my one-year-old daughter was in tow, we ended up primarily concentrating on the kiddie rides and ones with low/no height requirement, with a few exceptions. My son and I hit up Phoenix and Twister multiple times, and one of those times on Phoenix he even rode it with his grandmother (who's not typically a coaster person)! My daughter got on the Balloon Race, which she loved. Then she did the Merry Mixer, which... um... let's say she was less than merry about. We all hit up the train rides and antique cars, which offer fantastic views of Phoenix and Twister from underneath. I know a lot of enthusiasts tend to skip these, but I can't recommend them enough for a great relaxing cool down. My son and I did the Flyers as many times as we could, and riding them again simply reinforces my belief that these are the best set of flyers you'll find anywhere. It looks like Knoebels just won best amusement park food in the Golden Tickets again. Say what you will about their coaster rankings, but I can't deny that their choice of award for food is anything but spot on. Every last bit of food we got throughout our two days was amazing. People always rave about the pierogies, and as much as I love them, I think the potato cakes are my personal favorite! Overall, an absolutely fantastic weekend away with the family at a park that I will never say no to visiting. I've loved it here ever since I was a kid, and am so glad to be able to introduce it to my children as well. Its classic charm is so refreshing and just simply something that you don't find at too many of the major regional parks these days.
Taylor Finn
Something I didn't post about before but I was riding The Flyers in a separate car as my girlfriend a month ago and I had thought my sail (or whatever it's called) had a smaller radius of motion than hers which could pretty much go almost 180 degrees.. On my way off the ride I compared hers to what I had and they were different. The design of my car was actually slightly altered in the area I attached below and it prevented a full range of motion. I was still able to get pretty close to snapping and I am not upset at all! I'm more so just curious if anyone has experienced this/give people something to look for next time! Wow -- that's an unexpected and awesome addition! I haven't seen one of those in years. I hope they manage to keep it into next year's season and aren't just getting it on loan for the holiday. Devins3
^^ I am pretty sure those have always been there. Unless they are larger than they have been in the past. I haven't been since May so I could be wrong.
njcoasterguy34
I took my parents to the park yesterday and they enjoyed themselves. I had my best ride yet on the flyers yesterday. I don't know if they were running faster than usual or what, but they were snapping like crazy. I think I'll go back by myself this coming Saturday.
