TheGreatOne Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 --Best park "moment" of the year: Probably when Bryan humiliated an immature and obnoxious teen that was pestering us in line for Hades. The line he used was so good, I'm not even going to repeat it so that he can still keep the glory of using it. If you really want to know, pm me. I don't even remember what I said. As for me: --Your 2005 year in review: This was probably my worst year since becoming an enthusiast in terms of trips. I blame Arizona. I just got back from SoCal, but it doesn't count towards 2005. First time visits: Cliff's, Mt. Olympus, Timber Falls, SFGAm, Indiana Beach. Repeat visit: CP. --Your first coaster of the year: New Mexico Rattler. Outstanding ride. --Your last coaster of the year: Cornball Express, Indiana Beach. --Best new steel to me: Raging Bull. Didn't ride many new ones, and this one stood out among the others. I'm glad I payed $2 for the most intense cycle. --Best new water ride to me: I don't think I rode any, sadly. --Best new dark ride/walk through to me: Den of Lost Thieves, pretty fun, but winner by default. --Best new water park attraction to me: No waterparks this year. --Best new park to me: Six Flags Great America. Great park, it felt more like an Anheuser-Busch park than a typical SF park. I renamed it Busch Gardens Chicago. --Best park "moment" of the year: My first ride on Avalanche. I'm pretty sure that's the only time I've laughed through an entire ride. It was so crazy and fun. --Best overall park "trip" of the year: My road trip to Dells, GAm, IB. --Worst new attraction (any kind) to me of the year: Maxair at CP. After loving Delirium at PKI and seeing CP running theirs not nearly as hard, it was just a "meh" experience for me. --Best event at a park: None this year, but I'm heading to Spring Fling, Holiwood Nights and hopefully Coaster Madness this year. --Best non-event day at a park: Mt. Olympus/Timber Falls. Crazy rides, not heavy lines and Culver's. --Best non-park related moment of the year: Finally visiting Wrigley Field. shesaidboom Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 --Your 2005 year in review: So far my busiest year for coasters, but it really doesn't compare to a lot of yours. It started with a few trips to my home park PCW, a few days at Cedar Point in May, a spur of the moment trip to Cedar Point/PKI in June. Nothing but PCW until August when I went for an evening at Martin's Fantasy Island, a trip to Detroit to see one of my favorite bands and to Michigan's Adventure the day after, and then the massive [according to me ] road trip from Toronto to Florida stopping at parks along the way. The year ended with one last trip to Cedar Point in September. --Your first coaster of the year: Either Wild Beast or Vortex at PCW, I can't remember. --Your last coaster of the year: Magnum. --Best new steel to me: Montu. --Best new wood to me: Lightning Racer. --Best new flat ride to me: Shockwave at PCW. I liked the Retro TRs that were posted a while ago too. --Best Amusement related news of the year: The Voyage!!!!!! --Worst Amusement related news of the year: If it's definite that Ultra Twister from Astroworld is getting scrapped, probably that since I really want to ride one and I don't see myself going to Japan any time soon. --Ride that I had to rethink my opinion of in 2005: Skyrider at PCW. This used to be one of my favorite coasters when I was younger. I hadn't visited PCW in 4 or 5 years until this summer and when I rode it this year, I had no desire to ever ride it again. It isn't as bad as Shockwave at PKD, but it still hurts. --Hopes for 2006: A trip to SFMM? I know this wont happen though. I hope that the road trip I have planned for this summer is as amazing, or even more so, than the one from last summer.
307 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 --Your 2005 year in review: PCW throughout the summer [though working there has made me enjoy it less], CP in May, June, August, PKI in June, MFI in July, MIA in August, Knoebel's/Dorney/Hershey/William's Grove/PKD/BGW/BGT/IOA/USF/Conneaut Lake in August. --Your first coaster of the year: Wild Beast at PCW --Your last coaster of the year: Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake --Best new steel to me: Alpengeist --Best new wood to me: Lightning Racer at Hershey.. or Shivering Timbers at MIA, which I had been dying to ride for six years. --Best new flat ride to me: Shockwave at PCW probably, or Maxair at CP --Best new water ride to me: Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls at IOA --Best new dark ride/walk through to me: Spiderman at IOA --Best new park to me: BGW or IOA --Best park "moment" of the year: Finally riding Shivering Timbers, Volcano, and FINALLY going to BGW. --Best overall park "trip" of the year: The August trip to Florida --Worst new attraction (any kind) to me of the year: Hypersonic at PKD, because I didn't expect it to suck so hard. Close second is Tomb Raider at PCW, which I expected to suck.. but not so much. --Best non-park related moment of the year: Spending time in Florida on the beach with my girlfriend. --Best Amusement related news of the year: The Voyage! --Worst Amusement related news of the year: PCW is getting a stunt show as their new attraction next year. UGHHHHHHHHHHHH. --Ride that I had to rethink my opinion of in 2005: Anaconda at PKD, Minebuster at PCW --Hopes for 2006: That our planned trips actually come to fruition and are as awesome as we hope they are.
