Nrthwnd
Ooooooh that looks so wic-ked. The drop, I mean. Mmm m! And ready and running for awhile, before the '07 TPR tour, hmmm? Woof. Well, this one will certainly be my first 4D-Coaster, or whatever it goes by, heh heh. Wow. Definitely part of 2007, I'd say, uh huh. More cam pix! (EDIT: For the 'woof.' )
SpeedMonster
^ What? So it's been confirmed that it will have a vertical drop? Sweet.
Gutterflower
Just came across these. Looking good. and HUGE. what strikes me as odd is the size and distance of the left hand pillar support in comparison to the drop support...
NitroJoeC
^Because of that little dip it does before the first drop...see: X at SFMM. I'd say that looks to be bigger than X from those pics! Man, Japan must happen in 07. JC
Gutterflower
maybe its just perspective but the closes support seems pretty tall. and theres 3 supports between that and the drop. theres only 1 between the top of the drop and the lift on X.... looking at it though im sure its perspective
ncf
Maybe there will be a much bigger dip between the top of the lift and the vertical drop
haux
Now it's starting to look like an X clone.
rollermonkey
I'm leaving to get my Grinpa credit and do a (full size picture) construction update in about 5 minutes! Hold your horses!
MARK
^ By the look of the connect-y thingys on the supports of the hill after the raven turn, it looks like...I don't know what it looks like...maybe it'll do a quick fly-to-lie and then twist around again. Anyway if you look, the piece that connects to the track in the middle of the hill is facing upwards, then the next support is facing to the side and then the others are facing downwards again. NitroJoeC
^Full-full anyone?
COASTER FREAK 11
^^ That looks like it will be a bent-half-barrel roll. The supports on x look sort of the same; however, on X it takes the whole hill to make the 180* rotation. This one looks like it dose the same turn but with half the track. Also in regards to the drop support. It is not the same as X's. Look at the distance between them, then look at the new 4-D. There is a huge distance between the lift suppot and the drop compared to X. And there are no smaller supports in between them. This is a new design with some of X's elements. NitroJoeC
Um, the drop supports are obviously not all completed on the new 4D...the reason they look so spaced out is because the one that is done isn't the apex of the drop. I still say the first drop will be extremely similar, if not the exact same, as X's, save for a good two stories taller.
COASTER FREAK 11
Your right...you win! So now i have moved to hoping that is a new design.
Ed
Larger picture below. Looking at the supports after the raven turn it is definately the Full-Full element S&S would feature on this 4D http://www.coasterforce.com/cf-info/viewtopic.php?t=2272&start=
HCOSurfer90
I have this strange feeling this is going to be another X. Anyway it's looking good, even though I probably won't ever get to go ride it.
rollermonkey
I went to Fuji-Q yesterday with a new guy from work. I got PLENTY of new pictures, and I got to see a little actual construction. Travis also noticed a place to get a 'new' angle on the construction, and it worked great for station pictures! I also got a solid statistic from a worker! I'll hide it in a photo caption! On to the photos! Last one: Here you can see where the missing footers are so the cranes can get out. More next month! I can't wait! I think there will be a station flyover based on the footer lines. They stood one up! Look how tiny the people are. These supports are BEEFY and MEATNORMOUS! A more overall shot from this angle. Stanley the Steam Engine is playing in the dirt before this becomes a no entry zone. Taken from the "new" angle. It is now looking like a single loading station. It also appears there will be a single building for the car barn and load/unload platform like Ddodonpa. I think it's weird that they are building the lift hill from the middle. It's like they don't want anyone to know how tall it is going to be. At about 4:15, the high crew knocked off for the day. Good job today, guys! These columns will support the track between the station and the lift. The maximum height of this coaster will be 80 meters according to site workers. Backside of the Full-Full. Some construction yard shots. The workers said I need a hard hat if I want to walk around the site. I think I'll try to find a hard hat! EXTREME CLOSE-UP! Taken from Fujiyama's exit platform at maximum zoom. Action shot! Here the dip gets set into place! Within days, this will be the FULL-FULL! Can you picture it yet? PIC OF THE DAY! From the DROP on the splash boat, there's a lot to see in this picture! I took this from the top of the shoot-the-chutes, sorry it's crooked. It really is a vertical drop! Here's some rebar, there's still a few footers to be poured once the cranes move away from this end. The "low" crew got this frame assembled without a crane during the day. It will be stood up by the "mid" crew either later today (Saturday) or on Monday Track waiting to be lifted under the not looking like a half-half area. Small crossbar added to the dip area. Coasters while-you-wait? That crew can work faster than the "high" crew, as the pieces are smaller. They made lots of progress while we were there. The second or "mid-high" crew has been hard at work on the middle of the lift hill, this box structure and more! From near to far: A lamp post, the splash bridge, the not looking like a half-half, and a completed lift hill support. A worker going up to where the pre-drop dip will be. The drop is attached to the raven turn and an "Oops, I dropped my..." net has been already attached to the raven. Lots of black, and lots of work going on! From the Ferris, you can see a lot of new black support columns. What's going on to the right? There's a new structure going up to the 'left' side of the lift hill /vertical drop area. This is what you see now from between the carousel and Fujiyama.
Atarashiihito
It looks like it might be a very similar layout to X? I'm new to this thread, so I don't know all of the details. But maybe a few support and general track adjustments, but generally pretty similar?
Nrthwnd
I think I'll try to find a hard hat... Here! Here! I have one I can ship over to you Chris!!! Wow. Excellent construction shots there. And I love the color combo of the track and the support framework. Looks nice and evil-looking, heh heh. Yes, definitely for a bit of a ride next year, huh? (Keep up the grrreat photo work there too, Chris, by the by...)
The Cheat
Judging by the construction photos the layout is gonna be: Station, turn, lift hill, drop, inside raven, full-full, luge turn, outside raven....after that I have no idea what its gonna be. ShoubraStreet74
The maximum height of this coaster will be 80 meters according to site workers. According to Google, that's 262 feet, more than 60 feet taller than X. I guess that rules out the possibility of it being entirely a clone. woah_killa
^That looks like an outside raven to me...
