Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

You would think that Hurricane Harbor wouldn't garner as much attention as a new 4D dark ride but you'd be shocked at how crowded it can get sometimes

The line for Bonzai Pipelines last Wednesday was pretty insane actually

You aren't kidding, I went on Wednesday and we waited almost an hour for Bonzai Pipeline. They were only running one of the slides when we were there, so that could have something to do with it.

Couldn't imagine standing in nothing but swim trunks in the sun, especially when it was pretty hot that day

TR from KD is up for any other STLers thinking about taking the trip. BGW report to follow, shortly.

SFZIP: I'm happy but surprised you haven't found anything to leak. Good for the park, but you'll probably be back on your game soon.

I see what you did there.

Unless you are planning on going to the waterpark or riding water rides you'll probably have minimal waits if any at all.

Wow - that's great to hear. Thinking we'll skip the waterpark (going to do the combo at Holiday World / Splashin Safari on Friday). The waterpark isn't included in ticket price, right?

Also, non-theme park question. Thursday planning to do: Anheuser-Busch factory tour, St. Louis arch, Forest Park, and Bogart's Smokehouse. How is parking around St. Louis and specifically these areas? Would my GF and I be better off taking an Uber around and then coming back to our hotel (in Fenton, MO).

I had a good time at the park yesterday. Here are a few notes.

The park was really packed but lines were not awful. We waited for Batman for an hour, but that was the longest line of the day and it was early. All the other Coasters had no more than 15 minute waits and were walk on at night, including batman.

The Water Park was seriously packed! That's where the crowds were! We didn't ride any slides because of the lines. Bonzai Pipelines were down all day.

Screamin Eagle was fun as always. The last time I rode it at night, and I decided to ride in the very back for the first time in over ten years. That was a mistake! The back was so rough, and was not an enjoyable ride at all! I'll stick to the front from now on.

I went to ride Ninja a second time, but it was shut down by security, as was Mine Train, because some idiot jumped into the danger zone. I have not heard why or any other details, but I'm sure he is facing some nice charges.

Superman was up and down all day (no pun intended lol). When it was operating there was only three cars in use.

Justice League was broke down as expected, but when it was operating it had a horrendous line so I skipped it this visit.

American Thunder was running wild yesterday! Its always fun, but my God was it crazy this time! Best air time I've ever had on it!

Now for The Boss. I know its redundant, but OMG RMC, RMC, RMC!!!! It gets more rough everytime I ride it! It hurts so bad! I had red marks on my stomach from the awful restraints. I'm perfectly fine with skipping it but my friend wanted to ride it so I did it with him. Three times. I know. Now, I am a seasoned rider, and I know coasters are safe. I also know that they make loud clicks and pops, especially wooden ones. But with that being said, the final ride we took on The Boss as we were climbing the lift hill about a 4th of the way up we heard and extremely loud, BANG! I've never experienced this before on any coaster. It absolutely terrified me. The whole ride I was tense and scared. I have no idea what it was, and obviously did not pose any threat, but still. I've never experienced that and I still am confused as to what it could have been. I just really do hope that RMC is in the plans for The Boss SOMETIME in the future. It needs it bad.

All in all it was a really fun day. Thanks for suffering through my post.

Edit: I forgot to mention the ride ops. They were all very slow and unprofessional with the exception being the Screamin Eagle crew. I've never seen this at any of my former visits. I hope this improves. Also, to be fair, I did not ride Mr. Freeze, Boomerang, or Mine Train, so I cant say how those crews were.

Water park is free.

Thanks! Easy to get back and forth from the theme park to waterpark?

It's pretty easy. There's a nice shaded and honestly really nice path between the theme park and water park. If I were you, I'd go to the water park for Bonzai Pipelines (which has had a couple issues lately with one of the two slides down every once in a while), but I would save your water park stamina for HW and focus on the coasters at SF. If you're looking to cool off and get soaked, check out Tsunami Soaker. It will get you really really wet, and it's a fun and unique experience without lines.

The Good News is you can go to Kentucky Kingdom and ride there RMC next year!

Or go to Six Flags St. Louis and enjoy that RMC track that is on Boss right now.

*Insert rant about the park losing its coaster edge compared to the rest of the region. The only park yet to make us look dated is WOF.*

You'll waste your money. Parking isn't really much of an issue in this Sh** hole.

I guess if you enjoy getting punched in the ribs repeatedly.

Would like to know what rumors are for This park in 2016.

SF has done a good job hiding what they are going to be adding. Considering that we just received a huge attraction, I would not be surprised if SFSTL installed a flat ride. If there WAS something big, we would have seen items leading to its development, i.e. survey markers, old ride closings, teasers on social media, etc.

It was 1 year ago today that SFSTL announced the closing of Scooby Doo. So they could still announce a closing of a ride.

All I've heard is the Green Lantern themed 4D Free Fly, but they've definitely been more hush hush than usual

Other six flags parks have already announced rides that are going to close at some of their facilities. If STL was going to announce a closure, it would have already happened, or be announced in a week or two. Besides Tidal Wave(we don't even know when they plan to close this) I don't see a lot of other rides that need/should be closed. Any I am missing?
