  1. Should hopefully be at the park this Thursday. Been a long time ago, but had a few questions: (1) Going to be rolling solo and plan to get there late morning and stay through early evening - figure ~9-10 hours. Given there are single rider lines on some of the rides and I don't feel the need to do everything, assuming the $$$ for MaxPass won't be worth it? Must rides for me with a re-ride on maybe 1-2 of them are (feel free to recommend others): Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Hyperspace Mountain (likely 2X), Indiana Jones, Jungle Cruise, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run, Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain. (2) What's the intensity of the Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run experience? I'm ok on pretty much all rides, but certain simulators with sustained times of gravitational pull / rotation I don't do well on - good example is Mission Space at Epcot. (3) Taking an Uber there. If I buy my ticket on the app in advance, is entrance to the park pretty quick and seamless?
  2. Thanks! Didn’t know about that. Do you have to pay for parking on both Thursday and Friday in that case or does it work for both days?
  3. Planning to visit Hershey for the first time on a Friday this July. Have one day, but have the whole day. Is the Flash Pass Unlimited a must? Was thinking normal Flash Pass could probably suffice since will probably only want to re-ride a few, but it’s a fairly comparable price point at $75 vs. $90. Assuming, I really only care about the coasters, is Flash Pass worth it? I’m assuming Friday crowds are similar to Saturday / Sunday. Any must eat places either in or outside the park?
  4. If planning to do both the amusement park and the pool on one summer Saturday, is there a good place to change with lockers to store normal clothes / wet bathing suits when doing one vs. the other? Also thinking about where to keep valuables while swimming. Any tips?
  5. - Definitely get up early and take advantage of the early entry to the park that you'll get from staying at Breakers. I rode Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Millennium Force, and Valravyn all before the park opened since they were all "early entry" attractions. Top Thrill Dragster was not one, so I recommend going to that earlier in the day. Since you'll have early entry and you have a few days (albeit a weekend), you may not need to buy FastLane - would feel it out the first day. - If the budget fits it, best meal I had was at Bay Harbor. - If you're flying in and haven't booked yet, consider flying to Detroit instead of Cleveland. Found much more affordable flights and the drive isn't too bad.
  6. 1) You can just get a ticket to HHN without a daytime ticket. The advantage to having a daytime ticket is you can stay in a "holding area" during the transition inside the park and get first dibs on some of the houses. 2) Honestly now a days any day is a busy day, but I'll let someone else speak to that. They have certain tickets that are good certain days and certain lengths of time for the locals and they flood the park any chance they have with their "season pass" of sorts. One ticket is good for unlimited visits the first few weeks, the other is good for unlimited visits certain days off the week. I haven't looked at this years options so this may have changed. 3) Unfortunately it's one big conga line, which really limits the scares. They don't let in small groups due to the sheer crowds and moving as many people as they can through at one time as possible. Thank you! Very helpful.

  8. Is there a recommended / most convenient hotel to stay at between Knoebels and Hershey? Ideally something approximately halfway from both if I wanted to a weekend at both parks (Saturday at one, Sunday at other). Was looking at Hampton Inn in Pine Grove.
  9. A few Halloween Horror Nights questions: (1) You cannot just buy admission to HHN right? It's a ticket to Universal Studios Florida (not IOA or Volano Bay) and then a separate fee? (2) Assume Friday and Saturday are busiest days, how do Sundays tend to be? Is it recommended to get an Express Pass on a Sunday assuming I want to see ~5 attractions? (3) Related to crowds, how well do they do with controlling the crowds in the scare experiences? I went to a similar Halloween attraction a few years back and it wasn't all that effective / enticing given they had so many people walking through at once. I obviously get the tradeoff that if fewer people go through the attractions at once, lines are longer.
  10. Fyi...they do have non soft serve ice cream. The new sponsorship is Breyers. Thanks! I guess it has a smaller presence than the previous ones I mentioned (or I wasn’t paying enough attention), as everywhere I looked and used to go for regular ice cream seemed to not be there anymore. Specifically thinking of the old Cold Stone locations near the main fountain and near Nitro / Batman.
  11. Mini trip report and notes from my visit on Tuesday 7/31: - So happy I didn’t get a flash pass. Only wait of the day was about 20 minutes for Justice League. Everything else was basically a walk on or station wait. Rode Nitro and El Toro each 3x in a row in afternoon / early eve - Cyborg - meh. Honestly nothing to write home about. - Joker - much better than I remember it being. Hit me with some great surprises. - Dare Devil Dive - never had done this and now SO glad I did. The coolest / best experience in the park. As much as I love the Kingda Ka launch - the first drop on this is incredible. Well worth the money. - Food Quality has not improved by any means in the last 5-10 years.Havent been to Macho Nacho yet which I heard was good. - Where is your non soft serve ice cream? I recognize the partnerships with Ben & Jerry’s and Cold Stone must have expired, but wish we had a place to get real, legit, premium ice cream. - The Golden Kingdom to Plaza Path is open again. So much win!!!!
  12. Thinking of going next Saturday (7/28) - is Fast Lane basically a must? Are there single rider lines?
  13. Great report and sounds like an awesome trip after so much time in the making. You got a ton of rides on Steel Vengeance. For those of you on the fence about staying at the Hotel Breakers, I cannot emphasize enough that it’s worth the extra cost (assuming you can afford it), if you are going on a busy day. The early entry to the park is unbeatable.
  14. May be heading out to the park next Saturday: (1) Worth It to snag the gold flash pass if I want to ride everything (including most flats and water rides)? How is the single rider line situation? (2) thoughts on quality of Holiday Inn Enfield vs Hampton Inn Enfield? About $100 difference in price across the two nights.
  15. There's not that much there to make it impossible to hit everything in 11 hours. 4 is probaby sufficent to get a ride on all the big attractions. http://www.chowderpothartford.com Thank you! Even on a summer Saturday should be ok? Hoping to maybe even hit up the waterpark a bit as well, but that may be ambitious. Chowder Pot looks good. Love me a great Connecticut style lobster roll.
  16. To confirm - there's no fast pass type of option at Lake Compounce? If I have all day (even on a summer Saturday), should I be able to ride pretty much everything, including flats and multiple rides on Boulder Dash? Any great seafood joints in the area? Looking for some classic New England seafood even if I need to drive 30-40 minutes.
  17. How crowded does Knoebels get on weekends in July? Both amusement park and the pool. Assume it's considerably less crowded than Hershey and Dorney? What places do people like to stay at?
  18. Is there a level you can purchase above Fast Lane Plus? I noticed a few times this past week that there were instances of people who got on Millennium Force (including front row) at the exit station, so that the spots were filled on the train when it pulled in. Also there was a group that entered Steel Vengeance through the exit gate.
