Not sure if considered a "flume" but I LOVED Perilous Plunge at Knott's Berry Farm. Why did this one close? Remember being soaked and great drop.

The waterpark is fantastic. Everything worked so easy with the wristband for locker too. I spent more than half my time there when I went last July. Was PACKED throughout the day though. Favorite slides were definitely Mammoth and Wildebeest (Zinga very good too). Wished they kept it open later - probably closed with a good hour-and-a-half of light left at least. -

Ride that Makes You (a bit) Sick

Mostly simulators - the two that come to mind are: Harry Potter ride at Universal Orlando Mission Space at Epcot I also got a bit dizzy on Mr. Freeze at Six Flags St. Louis last summer. -

Thinking about going to Hersheypark for the first time this summer - is there a big difference between the crowds on a Friday vs. Saturday from June through August? Feasible to do all major rides in one day? Deciding if worth it to burn a vacation day. -

A friend & I last summer made a 1 day trip to Holiday World from Sandusky last summer 6 and a half hour drive. Left at 6AM eastern and got there at 11:30AM central. Spent a little over 5 hours in the park, 6 laps on thunderbird first then we went to the front to do Raven, Legend, & Voyage in that order with Voyage being my 100th coaster. Left the park at 5pm arriving back at 12:45 eastern time. That was my first visit to the park and I loved it so much I wouldn't hesitate to take a trip like that again. Haha. Now that's commitment! You must've been exhausted. -

Went to Holiday World for the first time last summer and had a great time. Maybe a silly question, but where do most of its visitors come from? Driving to Santa Claus from St. Louis it was pretty much nothing but open land for the last couple hours of the drive. Nevertheless, the park was PACKED when I was there. Do a lot of people make day trips from the reasonably close metro areas (Louisville, Evansville) ? Do a good number actually come from further away and stay at the hotels? I felt like I was an anomaly visiting from NYC. -
Delayed mini trip report. I went on MLK day this year (1/18) and while the park was pretty crowded, I was able to get on the majority of rides, except for that darn Peter Pan's Flight, which had a 70 minute wait all day. I stayed from 10:00 a.m through 6:00 p.m. and did the following: Space Mountain (fast pass) Splash Mountain (fast pass) Pirates of the Caribbean (fast pass) Thunder Mountain Haunted Mansion - this was much cooler when I was younger Jungle Cruise It's a Small World Hall of Presidents Tomorrowland Speedway Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid Ate lunch and grabbed some ice cream (~45 mins total) Monster's Inc was closed, as was Buzz Lightyear. Didn't have interest in Seven Dwarfs Train or kiddie rides. In my opinion, unless you've got kids that are slowing you down (which I recognize most do) or you want to literally do every attraction, there's no reason you can't fit Magic Kingdom into one day. One thing I love - fast pass. One thing I don't like - the lack of casual dining options (i.e. go up to the window and grab some chicken fingers, burger, etc.)

What is your next park?

Debating Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom Orlando tomorrow (MLK Day). Any thoughts? Care to an extent about crowds if materially different. -
I remember going to Six Flags Great Adventure for Fright Fest 2014. Was the most crowded I can remember ever seeing a theme park. Waited around 2 hours (think that's my record) for Nitro before it got even more insane and decided to call it a day on ride lines. Johnny Rockets had a legit 20 minute wait for chicken tenders. Flashpass lines were 20-30 minutes. Some photos for context:

Mini and delayed trip report from my first visit ever to Holiday World and Santa Claus, Indiana this past July (went Friday, 7/24). Overall had a great time and thanks for suggestions before I went! Good - Rides are fun. Spent most of the day actually in the waterpark, where lines were pretty long. For coasters, loved Thunderbird, Legend, and Voyage (missed Raven). For slides, Mammouth was fantastic, Wildebeast was great, and liked Zinga. - Food and park reasonably priced. Perhaps I'm immune to inflated food prices living in NYC, but didn't seem all that bad. - Locker system was great and easy to use, especially for the watepark. - Enjoyed the holiday theming in the park. Bad - Why does the waterpark close so early? There was still literally 1-1.5 hrs of light left, the lines were bumping, and the slides were being shut down. Womp womp. - Town of Santa Claus, IN. I would have expected better theming for a Christmas town. Was let down by the lack of holiday spirit from the few stores in town I went to. Was looking for a legit Christmas-in-July experience. Other Observation - Boy am I glad I went to the park on Friday (7/24). When driving out on 7/25, the line of cars to get into the park was literally gridlock all the way out to Highway 231. Can't imagine it would have been fun to be at the park that day! -
Where Are You Going in 2016?

Hopefully: Hershey Park (first time) Cedar Point (been before in 2009 and 2010, but getting the urge again) Animal Kingdom at Disney (considering waiting until Avatar land opens though, so maybe Magic Kingdom) -

Thanks! Easy to get back and forth from the theme park to waterpark? It's pretty easy. There's a nice shaded and honestly really nice path between the theme park and water park. If I were you, I'd go to the water park for Bonzai Pipelines (which has had a couple issues lately with one of the two slides down every once in a while), but I would save your water park stamina for HW and focus on the coasters at SF. If you're looking to cool off and get soaked, check out Tsunami Soaker. It will get you really really wet, and it's a fun and unique experience without lines. Appreciate the help! -

Oh yes. There are only four big coasters, so it's easily doable in one day with the waterpark. Dive is very much worth seeing. I watched it twice when I was there for Holiwood nights. It's that good. Splashin' Safari has two entrances, one by Voyage and the other by Legend. Only the main entrance (near Legend) has fluffy bunnies, though, so if you're needing those, enter there. They open just the fluffy bunny area of the waterpark at opening time for the theme park, so it's easy to go put your stuff away, go ride a few rides, then come back and change into your swim gear. I'd recommend doing Raven and Legend in your first hour, as most of the crowd seems to rush to Thanksgiving at opening. Then go to the waterpark right when it opens and ride Mammoth, Wildebeest, and Zoombabwe. Those are the best three slides. Hit up anything else you like in the waterpark, then into the afternoon come back to the ride side for Voyage and Thunderbird, as the lines will be much shorter in the afternoon. Thanks for the feedback! Will definitely have to check out Dive!
