nissanskyline1235 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 LOOOOOOOK! The CnC patriot is for sale! How sad, it was like the best thing in the park! http://www.italintl.com/detail_page.php?record_id=705 --Cody P.S. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news..well I think it is any way.
coaster_type_of_person Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 OMG I loved that ride, loved it and now its going.....why couldn't they take out the storm or whatever it's called. This kind of could be expected, but not so soon, maybe they will be adding a new addition to the park after this. or maybe its just because the park is going broke, well to me. So i don't know, but thx for letting me know
Mr.Six Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 OOMMMGGG!!! I hate it when people spell things out like THAT to bring our attention to the topic. Anyway; yeah, I think its expected. But I do wonder who will end up buying it. _six
DATman Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Actually, it sooooooo CAN be happening But it seems that they just removed the best coaster in the park (from what I hear), which is always a stupid decision
haux Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 The last helix on Patriot was pretty fun. It's a shame they're selling it. Hopefully another coaster will go in its place. This state's got too few coasters as it is! If anyone wants to see a POV from Patriot's back row, click here. My bandwidth may die, though.
rollercoasterdan Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Dont see any reason to visit that park anyways.....................Id rather just drive 9 hours to L.A. to go to KBF or SFMM. I doubt Castles and Coasters will replace it with anything, at least not in the next decade or two. But, I do see the park closing down pretty soon, as real estate is pretty good in that area. Hopefully the Santas Village fair thing will become permanent, and we can add another rollercoaster or two to arizonas stunning array of rollercoasters .
SharkTums Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I guess there's a mouse rumor? Oh well, honestly, I think they're going more for the 'family' thing. Heck when we were there, there was a longer line for the kiddie coaster than the looper. Oh, and the fact that the first drop is BRUTAL!!!!
Tomizzle For Rizzle Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I think eventually all the Hopkins coasters are going to disappear. I was told by peeps at Adventureland that they expect their's to last maybe 2 more years, and then they are planning on taking it out also.
BiCoastal Kid Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 ^Except it would probably be more intense than Regular Patriot.
pvcoasterguy Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 If anyone thinks that the Hopkins coasters with lap bars are brutal, come on over to Adventureland, where we've got a Hopkins with OSTR's! Totally brutal ride- the helices are insanely rough. The only way to escape with a "that wasn't too bad" ride is to ride in the front row. The ride sucks; I hope it will be leaving soon.
coaster_type_of_person Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Oh, and the fact that the first drop is BRUTAL!!!! Which one?
DATman Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 ^Except it would probably be more intense than Regular Patriot. Just because Patriot isn't a huge coaster doesn't mean that it won't be intense. Look at Batman, or BBW, that thing was about 5 times more intense than I thought it would be.
Wes Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Just because Patriot isn't a huge coaster doesn't mean that it won't be intense. Look at Batman, or BBW, that thing was about 5 times more intense than I thought it would be. Yeah, but what BiCoastal is saying is that the recent Cedar Fair purchased B&M inverteds have been about as intense as sitting on a bench. See Silver Bullet and Talon.

Scaparri Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 ^That would be the Texas Tornado at Wonderland Amusement, unless Adventureland got them for their's as well.

Look at Batman, or BBW, that thing was about 5 times more intense than I thought it would be. pvcoasterguy Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 ^^ Nope, Adventureland's Dragon has lovely Hopkins trains, with no padding and little room to move. The seats are very awkward, and it feels like there's some sharp rod poking into your spine.
Twister II Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I dought another coaster will come. The plot of land is so small, you can really fit nothing into it! Also the fact the park can't expand anymore because its surrounded by roads on all sides, plus the fact a HUGE (awesome I might add) mall is right across the parking lot.
dj snow Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 I'm new to the Phoenix area, so I haven't yet been out to visit Castles 'n Coasters, but it sounds like I'll have to make plans to visit, posthaste. You're all heaping such praise upon the ride! Hmm... Maybe next weekend...
