Cool. Riddler looks like a Zamperla Frisbee (Kennywood) and Catwoman's Whip looks also like a Zamperla Endevour, which is like an Enterprise.

My question is, is one of those is a HUSS Trokia, and they already have "Crazy Legs", so is that being moved and rethemed?

I wonder that too!

My guess is that Crazy Legs is getting a repaint as Harley. . but I also notice that Batwing is not mentioned. . so does that mean that Catwoman's Whip is going to be replacing that?

(meaning net gain is only 1 ride . . .Riddler).

Excited about Riddler, they've very fun. Almost peaceful. Anyone know if it's a Huss Giant Frisbee or a Mondial Revolution? Rendering looks like a Revolution but then again it's just a rendering.

Don't especially care about the other new ride and the re-theme of Crazy Legs. I'm trying to imagine where everything will go. Does this spell the end of Goodtimes Square?

I'm guessing Crazy Legs rethemes and stays where it is.

the Catwoman ride will fit where Batwing is now (unless it's staying. .but the announcement of Gotham expanding only references Batman and Mr. Freeze coasters alongside the new rides ). . . the Riddler is likely going in the spot where Flashback was, with the BumperCars building as the queue.

just a guess.

Flights are realllllyyyy cheap to Dallas...might do a weekend trip. Any suggestions on affordable hotels near the park? Might look into AirBnB if there aren't decent options.

You can usually get the Sheraton on non Cowboy's weekend on Hotwire for around $50 (its' the only4 star property for the area) A lot of people stay at the La Quinta or Hyatt Place. For example, this weekend since its game weekend rates are in the $180-$219's for the area.

Crazy legs is getting an overhaul and staying put where is.

As far as batwing in concerned, lets face it, while sort of popular with the kids, would anyone really miss it if it goes? It rarely goes down so it has that going for it as well as a great lead-in to the area. Nothing has been mentioned about getting ones last rides in which they have always done in the past so I would not read into it much that it wasn't mentioned in the announcement, after all Mr. Freeze and Batman are the focal points of the area and the two additions will help tie it all together.

I always thought batwing was in an awkward place. Is it possible they might remove some of the games near batman to make way for a flat? I never see anyone actually playing the games over there... at least whenever I was actually paying attention. LOL. I always thought they had too many game stations in the park anyway.

You sir, are not a good man. Now I'm tempted to do a Fri-Sun Texas SF trip. I found a round-trip flight on Spirit Airlines for $110 and I've got some Hilton Honors points I've been waiting to burn up!

I've heard that the city is making the park tear down the bumper cars building because of its poor condition. There's plenty of room for both new rides in that area, especially if they push into part of the parking lot area for the old shopping center.

I guess part of me was hoping they would use that area for a coaster - but it makes sense.

Since their post showing the eye-sore of a stadium, I'm wondering if they're hinting that something new will be put there for 2017.

I believe that was more of a 'damn I'm right here, maybe I should go' photo more than anything.

Spirit? Good luck there, 50/50 shot if you'll actually make it here within 3 hours of scheduled arrival!

You know, I've had GREAT luck with Spirit for over a year now. I've taken (counts in head) around 10 flights, a few of those to Ohio to go to Cedar Point. I haven't had ONE problem yet with them. I've actually had issues with Southwest twice this year to go to Great Adventure and Minnesota; Spirit though...if you know their tricks and prepare for their issues they're known for; you'll have a enjoyable trip.

Considering the two times I flew on Spirit, mainly because I lost a bet, one flight was re-scheduled when the engine caught fire shortly after spinning it up and the other was just flat out 2 hours late with no weather delays. Thankfully I booked the big seats, otherwise there was no way I could make it with zero legroom and 'pre-reclined' seats.

I'll stick with Virgin whenever possible. Frontier isn't too bad for short flights.

I'm happy you enjoyed your flights, but they're not for me. I felt like I was living the real life version of 'airplane' just missing the spinners.

Surprised no one has mentioned Catwoman Whip versus Catwoman's Whip?

Catwoman Whip just sounds really odd to me, but I will be interested to see what the ride itself is all about.

PS - Yay for more Frisbees!!!!!

For me, the odd one is "The Riddler Revenge". My "home" Six Flags park is SFMM, so of course I'm used to hearing "The Riddler's Revenge," as in the stand-up coaster that's there. The omission of the "s" in the names kind of remind me of the transition between "Disney's California Adventure" to "Disney California Adventure"!

Found a video of Catwoman Whip. They have one over at Luna Park in Coney Island.

Okay...

1.) I HATE that they don't know how to shoot a proper YouTube video...

2.) I love how open this ride is. I mean compared to the previous enterprise rides, this looks awesome. Feet dangling and all. However, I can't help but to think about how bad the capacity is going to be on this ride, because of just sliding a door closed like on the previous enterprise rides, now they actually have to check the restraints... I feel like that will take much longer.

I'm in a rumor mood today. Anyone up for speculating what they could finally do if they do indeed demolish the concert hall? The thing is an eye sore and needs to go. I've enjoyed the entrance revamps that Cedar Fair has done with their "coaster-gate" projects by building new rides with a new gate. Obviously that probably won't happen now, but something new and shiny next to the highway would be a nice start and an eye grabber. Thoughts?

I just flew into town. I checked into my hotel, and headed to the park. I got there a little after 7. The single line to get into the park was at least 45 minutes long. I'll pass!!

I'll be there tomorrow morning when they open. I have no use for Fright Fest anyway. I just came for the rides...

Posted

Yeah the one line to get in that also issues season passes that they are pushing is a real downer and happens quite often in the later hours of the day. Not quite sure why they would do that on opening night of fright fest. Have a Six Flags day today.

You keep using that phrase. I'm not sure it means what you think it means.

For those curious as to exactly where the new attractions will be placed next year, I was able to confirm with the park that they are going in Flashbacks former home next to Texas Sky Screamer. The frisbee will seat 40 and the wheel will seat 48 giving both the ability to munch people.

Hey everyone. Quick question- I want to use my Six Flags season pass one more time before the end of the season and debating which park to go to this weekend. I want to get the most rides in as possible and dont' want to partake in any of the Fright Fest attractions.

How has SFOT been the past few weekends? I don't want to make a big trip and then get to ride New Texas Giant once... There is also an ACE event at SFOT this weekend as well so I don't know if that would affect lines etc as I wouldn't be participated in it . I just want to plan accordingly and know what to expect as far as the park being busy. Any suggestions or heads up as to what I should expect on a Saturday in October? Thank you in advance!!
