I just canceled my gold legacy memberships, I'm going to just buy the season passes in full now. The price differences simply weren't worth considering I'm saving $100+ now a year.

The 3 main differences are...

I had 20% merch discount down to 10%. I don't buy enough merch to warrant paying extra for 10% difference.

2 bring a friend free ticket down to 1 bring a friend free ticket per pass. Not worth paying extra for me.

1 refillable drink bottle down to 0. I don't drink that much soda to begin with and usually bring in water bottles anyway so I'm fine with this.

I'll also have access to all the Cedar Fair parks now too and for less money than I've been spending per month. They had raised the memberships 2x in the span of like 8 months and it just became not worth it at that price point. Now with it being cheaper and I can go to Dorney a few times a year as well it just made sense to cancel and get the new season pass.

I'm also owed $20 back per membership because of a refundable deposit so it's going to be interesting to see how long and how much of a headache they make that for me. It's also a reason I'm not interested in buying new memberships since it says the $20 is non refundable per pass now. I just don't see any benefit anymore in getting a membership over just paying in full for the season pass.

Yeah, I don't care that much about merch discount or bring a friend free either, I often don't even use all the bff that I have. Which is why the food was possibly the tipping point for me. I guess I just need to sit down and do the math and calculate the differential between buying food or not and see what the difference is likely to be and if it's worth it. Of course this means I have to do math 😒

I think also a little part of me is reluctant to give up the memberships just because I've had them for soooo long and I know once I do there's no going back. On the other hand that's a very first world problem and probably not worth all the consideration I'm giving it, lol.

So............per my previous posts I've been a dog with a bone over trying to find someone who can give me an answer about the future of the meal plan that is currently on the DE VIP memberships. Well I was finally able to speak to an actual customer service person at the corporate office today and got an answer. Maybe. According to her the current meal plans on memberships will still be available in 2026 at all legacy SF parks but not legacy CF parks. However, I'm somewhat skeptical because 1) She did not immediately know that answer and had to go "find out" 2) That is the same as this year if you did the all park passport add on and 3) She seemed really unsure about the whole thing. In the end I think the only way to know is to try it out next year and see if and where it works 🤷‍♀️

You can add the all parks dinning plan that is 2 meals per visit. $155. I think you need ten meals to make it worth your time

Yes, IF you get one of the new passes. But you cannot add it on to a membership. And even if you could that would be dumb because it would cost way more than getting a prestige pass and doing the add-on

I was told "yes" you can add that $155 dining pass to any legacy membership.

They allowed you to add meal plans on memberships this year. Can't imagine that will change. Like this year, you'll probably have to visit guest services to get it all squared away after purchase. You will have to pay the full amount up front.

I went online to see if you could add the dining when this question came up before and it wouldn't let me BUT I have no idea if that was because it wasn't working properly, or because it knew that I already have dining on my membership so therefore it would be redundant, or what. I mean it's a moot point for us because we already get 2 meals and a snack grandfathered in our membership. I think right now it's all somewhat of a crapshoot depending on what day it is and who you are dealing with.

Not to derail this conversation about passes. Seems like i missed something that people keep saying Peanuts characters might be leaving  cedar fair parks? I rad that they own the rights till 2030 for now?

Not sure if i missed something else.

Supposedly the Peanuts license for the chain concludes at the end of this year, with an option to extend it to 2030.  No one really knows if they have extended it or not, and with the doom and gloom surrounding SFEC as a whole, people are speculating that since it's supposedly cheaper to rebrand everything to Looney Tunes (or just de-brand everything), that's what they're going to do.

It's just more frustrating speculation based on rumors and hearsay if you ask me.

IMHO, if they were going to let the contract expire, they wouldn't have installed Peanuts-themed things this year, but I'm not an "industry insider" who gets paid by generating clicks on my videos/articles, so what do I know, right?

When I went to add dining, it was insistent that the plan would only be good for legacy Six Flags parks so I didn't. If it was good for legacy Cedar Fair parks, I would definitely have added it on. We will have at least eight days in Six Flags parks next year (road trip: SFFT --> SWSA --> CotaLand --> SFOT --> SFFC --> SDC --> WOF --> SFSL & a separate trip of two days at CP), but four of them are legacy Cedar Fair.

I was just at SFOG on Monday, and they had in park electric signs (ie: advertising) featuring Peanuts characters.  (Charlie Brown, Woodstock, and Snoopy).
over by the Theater next to Monster Mansion, and across from the Mine Train.

it was so noticeable, I even pointed it out to those I was there with.

you should adjust that slightly:  Start at SWSA, then SFFT, then Schlitterbahn (which you pass on the way towards Austin, in New Braunfels - I suspect COTAland won't be open yet, so you will likely have a free day to visit one of the best waterparks in the USA)

The all parks dining works at all parks in 2026 just like the product title and description say.

It very clearly says it will only work at legacy Six Flags parks.

We rarely touch water parks. If Cota isn't open, we will likely replace it with a lengthy detour to Magic Springs in Arkansas and adjust the park order accordingly.

Yeah, you're looking at the 2025 Pass add-on, not the 2026 Pass add-on, which is what everyone was talking about.  You want this page:

You're right. When I open my 2026 pass and explore add ons it only offers me 2025 plans. Very odd. I have to navigate separately on the website to find the 2026 plans. I wasn't paying attention to the dates because why the heck would you add anything but 2026 plans to a 2026 pass?

Anyway, gold and prestige meal plans are the same price and seem to have the same wording. Is there a difference I am missing?

To touch on this, it is now official:  Peanuts licensing contract extended.

Surprising absolutely no one, except the click-baity YouTubers who threw everyone into a panic over the contract "being allowed to expire because SFEC is going bankrupt!!!!!11!!!"

Quote

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: FUN), North America’s largest regional amusement-resort operator, today announced it has extended its licensing agreement with Peanuts Worldwide for another five years. The new agreement extends Six Flags’ position as the exclusive amusement park partner for Peanuts™ in North America. The agreement also includes in-park entertainment and sports, food and beverage, retail operations, and exclusive Peanuts merchandise to December 31, 2030, ensuring that millions of park guests at Knott’s Berry Farm, Carowinds, Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Dorney Park, Canada’s Wonderland, Great America, Michigan Adventure, Valley Fair, and Worlds of Fun will continue to experience and connect with the iconic Peanuts characters.

“We are proud to extend our long-standing partnership with Peanuts, which has delivered so many fun and cherished memories to our guests,” said Christian Dieckmann, Six Flags chief commercial officer. “Both of our brands are built on bringing families together and creating one-of-a-kind experiences and emotional connections. The renewed relationship between Six Flags and Peanuts Worldwide will enable both companies to enhance and extend their brands through themed areas, live entertainment, merchandise and games.”

“It’s been exciting to see how the legacy Cedar Fair parks have introduced our beloved Peanuts characters to new generations of kids over the years, and this renewed partnership with Six Flags will ensure we expand those connections in authentic and meaningful ways,” said Tim Erickson, executive vice president for Peanuts Worldwide.

The company’s collaboration with Peanuts dates back to the early ‘80s when Knott’s Berry Farm in southern California opened the first Camp Snoopy. Since then, the legacy Cedar Fair parks have made significant investments to introduce Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang to guests of all ages.

Earlier this year Carowinds unveiled two new family friendly attractions in Camp Snoopy as part of the largest investment in family attractions in the park's history: a new launch roller coaster and an interactive raft ride. These additions, alongside splash play zones and a meet-and-greet experience with Peanuts costume characters, offer more spots for families to cool off and interact with Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang. In addition, the park introduced the Camp Snoopy Bird Watchers Club, featuring augmented reality (AR) based games for the whole family.

Last year, Kings Island expanded its award-winning kids’ area with the addition of a new adventure play space, Camp Snoopy, featuring the park's newest roller coaster, Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers. Also debuting last year was Beagle Scout Acres, a shaded, nature-themed play area where kids and their families are able to explore and play on their own among turfed mounds and grassy areas filled with camping equipment.

Some of the coaster influencers or what ever we what to call them just have really bad info or ideas and 100% made up to what they went but sell it as facts. They have no contacts in the industry so just feed off each other BS.

Seriously.  What's worse is how much some other forums will just take these 1-in-a-million unsubstantiated rumors and run wild with them.  Example:  There is a thread with 24 posts on another forum focused on a singular Legacy CF park, in the subforum "Coming Attractions" (which is described as "Discuss what's coming to [park name redacted] in 2024 and beyond!" to discuss actual announced projects) entitled "Looney Tunes Planet Snoopy Retheme Concept".  The original post contains custom made graphics, a photoshop of the Looney Tunes mascots from a SF park in front of this park's most recognizable landmark, and suggested re-namings for every single ride and theater in this park's Peanuts section.  It assumes that the contract was not being renewed as a fact.  Though most of the responses were not on board with this idea, one person actually created their own crude photoshop instead turning Planet Snoopy into a DC-themed area. 🤦‍♀️

This is why I love TPR.  Wild, ridiculous speculation is frowned upon here, like it should be.

I also don't like the reckless media.  The Sun reported that Six Flags might go bankrupt and quoted Dennis Speigel of ITPS as a source, so I looked them up.

The Sun also repoted today that the Russia drone incursion over Poland almost created World War 3 and space aliens have anti-Hellfire missle technology.  Why are people quoting The US Sun as a credible source?

Dennis Speigel lists consulting on the feasability of former Hard Rock Park as an accomplishment when it failed within a year or telling Parques Ruenidos to purchase Palace Entertainment are not indications of your successful prior predictions.  In fact most of your projects seam like guessing, at best:

Hey, Dennis, you okayed this one?

Or telling Parques Ruenidos to buy Palace are not idicators of your past intelligence.

It's still just a five year deal.  Unless they've always done five year deals, they could be evaluating what to do with the IP going forward.
