P. 625: Harry Potter Ministry of Magic revealed!

Recommended Posts

Just got back from Universal Studios and two rides on HRRR.

You were in line about 30 feet behind me the second time you rode (When you took the video of the transfer track), I thought I recognized you, haha.

I didn't think the the ride was rough at all, but of course, I don't mind rough coasters. I sat in the front row on the right hand side and chose "Bring me to Life" for my song choice because I heard it worked well, and it did. The ride was pretty quick with a few decent pops of air, but they were kind of abrupt and sudden. If it weren't for the shakiness of the train, I think it would've been more "flowing".

The train did wobble a bit... if anyone has ridden Hypersonic XLC, it's kind of like that, but on a lesser scale.

The sound system was excellent! I could clearly hear my music, but none of the rider's around me.

The best element had to be the non inverting loop. It's pretty much what you expect it to be, but with a bit more air at the top that I anticipated.

I waited two hours. For a first ride, it was worth it, I'll probably end up waiting it again though.

Went back for another ride on the rockit today, got there right as it opened, waited 30 minutes with rain delays, and sadly enough the audio did not work this time I chose wake me up inside, but it didn't matter. I got another ride in the back this time, and got to really experience the ride this time, for last time I was on such a happy high that it was open and I was on it, It all kind of flew by.

This time, especially with no music. I will say it was rougher again, but i've only ridden in the back, and yes I have been on many rough rides, and it's not painful (if u keep your head under control) but it's kind of annoying for a new ride to have the shake, but I will say it does not take away from the experience. My fav part is def. the double take, for that same fact that there is nice air and whip on the way down. I do enjoy the coaster, but I did not enjoy it nearly as much as I did with the music and I too hope everything gets worked out. I'd love to see more trains one, and the moving sidewalk. And again, was more impressed with the jump cut this time, again, I only have opinions on this ride from the back row twice, and I would love to try somewhere else.

Got a question about the music. I thought I read somewhere in the soft opening comments that the music lasts exactly how long the ride is. Is this true? I think then we got the answer to why there are certain tracks only. Timing. Just a thought.

Also if I am not mistaken, the video for Hulk was about $30. I wanted to take a look and see exactly what that was about, but forgot to. I think that the HRRR video would probably fall in the same price range. Maybe..lol

The lockers were running at a free price for up to 45 minutes. After that you start to get charged. Still worth it for not loosing anything! I hate carrying things on lines!

For the hidden tracks so far what has been reported is:

1-30 are the advertised tracks

74 or 75 is a Metallica song

112 - Free Bird

123 - a song by Muse

301 - Float On by Modest Mouse

311 - an unknown R&B track

901 - Moving Right Along by The Muppets

902 - The Rainbow Connection by The Muppets

945 - California Screamin track

reported that a certain code plays the Back To The Future theme.

Also note that if you select a bonus track, the video will be disabled and you will not be able to purchase the DVD. A lot of glitches in the system still so the screen may just freeze up on you.

"Bring Me To Life" was as long as the ride, but, it was also edited to make the song shorter. I know the songs from Crystal Method and some of the other Electronica bands are near 6 minutes long. They're just shortened to the ride's length... they did a good job editing though.

And if #123 is a song by Muse.... OMFG!!!!!!!! Will be my favorite ride EVER!!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely try this next time.

Sorry... had to get that out.

Today was the day, finally I got the chance to ride the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. I have been following this project since it was announced, and have been waiting and waiting with delay after delay. I will admit, I got to the point where I lost hope and began to question Universal's decision to build this attraction. I had such high expectations for this attraction it was almost unfair. I have done it to myself time and time again, I get off the ride with a smirk saying yeah it was good but not what I expected. Today my expectations were fully met and I couldn't be happier about it.

I got in line at about 11:30 this morning and after a rather large technical delay and a rain delay I was on at 2:25. I sat in the front row on the left. The lap bar came down which I thought to be quite comfortable, and I picked my track to play during my ride. I picked the Beastie Boys Intergalactic in case anyone was wondering. After a brief moment we began our journey up the lift. The vertical lift is great and very fast as well. The first drop was great not much in the form of airtime but smooth and steep. The double take is the best element IMO of the ride. I got some killer airtime on the descent. The second drop into the firehouse and the treble clef are quite intense and very fun. Going into the second brake run I got a big pop of air. The jump cut and the crowd surfer are my second favorite part of the ride. Very unique and again a lot of fun, its one of those moments where you just have to scream in delight at the crowd below you. The final section by citywalk is very quick with fast transitions in direction. This ride exceeded my expectations by a mile and is a great addition to the park.

On a side note the talked about roughness of the ride is questionable. I found that the ride itself is not rough at all, I thought it was smooth with a few jerks in between elements. The audio was great and the video editing feature was very cool. Just all around its such a great ride and I think the one thing that will make this ride a true jewel is re ride ability and overall fun factor. I give it a 8/10.

Well after watching this thing from the beginning as well, I too finally got my chance to ride Rockit today. The posted wait time was 120 minutes (2 hours) at around 3:30PM when me and six other friends went in. We ended up only waiting about 1 hour and 15 minutes before we got on. It would have been shorter but they pause the ride to switch out one of the train for another.

First of all, this ride just like Manta exceeded my expectations. I had my doubts about this ride but I'm glad to report that I approve of this ride. This ride was great and the song I listened to was "Can't touch this" by MC Hammer. I ended up sitting on the left side on the last row of the first car. The lift was quick and down the drop was steep and fun. The non-inverting loop was a very unique experience and I enjoyed it. The drop into the firehouse was pretty steep and the double take was fun and had some good intensity. I also got a good pop of airtime at each brake run. The second half around CityWalk was slower but still fun. Overall I had a blast on it and the addition of music really adds to the ride.

The moving walkway was still not running and I believe only three trains were running. At the end of the ride (while were still pulling into the station), an employee would ask if the audio was working on our seat. Out of the seven of us, two had audio that did not work (I believe both sat on the right side).

As for the roughness, I can see where some people are coming from. This is not the smoothest coaster but I didn't think it was too unbearable. There were parts where it pop in my head that it was kind of shaky but nothing too serious.

Overall, I had a great time on Rip, Ride, Rockit and I think it is an great addition to the park. I would give it a 9/10 and say it is a must ride.
