gerstlaueringvar Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 They can use 10 sets of those to launch a wild mouse car, as long as the train won't break into pieces from the extreme acceleration. I think US Army started using this technology to launch missiles decades ago.10 Stators on a Cross Section of Track to Launch a Mouse Car or a Single Line of 10 Stators?I'm thinking about something like this.
Anac0nda Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Wow, this project really got a PR boost jump after a very uneventful winter! PowerPark has provided two webcam links to follow the construction. Webcam #1 Webcam #2 Â This picture was taken today. It shows clearly where the ride is going. You can see the bridge has a restaurant in the end. Imagine watching this beast roll by while dining! I just wonder where the entrance to the queue will be and how it will be connected to the rest of the park, as the station's location is kinda remote. But considering this is PowerPark, they'll probably add more rides and other stuff to incorporate this area to the rest of the park in the coming few years, as it's the way they have been doing it so far. I really like that they show long-term planning (as opposed to a few other parks I've seen in the last few years...).

I've always thought Intamin could use two sets on LSM instead of one. They would basically look like their magnetic brakes on accelerator coasters and should make for a forceful launch! Â The ride looks great. I'm desperately starting to need a massive trip round the continent.
KingRCT3 Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 rcjp, wasn't it you who were wondering how manufacturers tested their seats? Well, Gerstlauer posted a video where you can see their (featuring a Junker's style seat, so I'm on topic!): Â See here, the last few minutes.
gerstlaueringvar Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 ^^So nice to see those DDD style lap bar on the background!
_koppen Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Also the name Junker refers to an airplane company Junkers, but it's also a pun towards the local people living near the park like mentioned. Maybe this'll mean that it'll have airplane-themed cars like Karacho? I certainly wouldn't mind even if they'd look the same!  I actually was at an Airplane museum today, and I saw the Junker reference. I had totally forgotten about that plane company before I saw it today! I also missed that you wrote it, so it was funny that I figured it out today at the museum  It seems like a no brainer that we will se little airplane cars, hopefully with some extensive theming!
Anac0nda Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 First pieces of track have gone up! Oh my yes that tophat looks tall!
rcjp Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 ^Nice! It does look fairly tall. rcjp, wasn't it you who were wondering how manufacturers tested their seats? Well, Gerstlauer posted a video where you can see their (featuring a Junker's style seat, so I'm on topic!):Â See here, the last few minutes. Oh, thanks a lot! That's very interesting! I have a feeling Intamin didn't do this with skyrush's restraints (if they did and thought they were fine they're mad)
Anac0nda Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 They are working hard, a bunch of new supports and a little bit of track have gone up in just a couple of days! I must say, Junker looks better every day, I didn't think that the double-inversion around the Kwai-bridge would be so high
gerstlaueringvar Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 The concept art kind of made me think Junker is something a bit bigger than Lynet, but wow it looks massive on the photos!
linearinduction Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 The concept art kind of made me think Junker is something a bit bigger than Lynet, but wow it looks massive on the photos!Agreed! So far I have not been very impressed with Gerstlauer's Layouts, but this one Looks GREAT!
linearinduction Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Look at the banking into the MCBR!   That looks even more Whacked than the one on Wicked and Cannibal!
KingRCT3 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 The concept art kind of made me think Junker is something a bit bigger than Lynet, but wow it looks massive on the photos! Â It's twice the size of Lynet! 40m vs. 20m. Taller than Anubis and Karacho too. If I'm not mistaking it's the third tallest Gerstlauer, after Kanran and Takabisha.
gisco Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 This is looking great and a good addition to the park. To bad it is so far out of the way.
Anac0nda Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 The other half of the tophat has received some track. Looking better every day  Here are the links for the webcams again www.powerpark.fi/ukkostutka/webcam1.jpg www.powerpark.fi/ukkostutka/webcam2.jpg
Intaman Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Let me guess, this photo was taken around 11pm. Â Seriously, this coaster looks pretty rad; it makes me miss Scandinavia.
StealthFan Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 You have to give them credit this ride is going up at a pretty decent pace. Cant wait to see this thing complete. Is most of the ride going to be over water or am I just imagining things?
Nrthwnd Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 This is looking great and a good addition to the park. To bad it is so far out of the way. Â Next Scandi Tour. Â ^ And it looks like it's pretty much (will be) all over water to me, Craig.
