G$ Kurt
June 2009 was my first trip ever to kings island. After putting it off long as long as possible we finally decided to give Son of Beast a go. Maybe five trains after ours they take the ride down. As we now know it never reopened. My first ride on SOB was one of its last.
scottjenkins
I was lucky enough to ride Thunder Looper at AT in its last few weeks of Operation.
John Peck
My nearly missed credits have been actual parks... after hearing about closing, we went to miracle strip and on the same trip, hit some of the gulf coast parks including six flags new Orleans in 2004, then in 2005 we went to texas for astroworld and hot sfot and sfft thus getting the original texas giant and the modified rattler. Oh, and Cypress gardens when for the short time they had the Starliner... so i go to ride both the original and the modified one.
michaellynn4
Technically Thunder Road. I had to travel to South Carolina for work in the summer of 2014 so I did a quick three-hour visit to Carowinds. Only one side of Thunder Road was running. Didn't realize it only had one more year in its life at the time, so it was kind of cool I could at least enjoy it once before it bit the dust. Physical
Shockwave at Kings Dominion. Got on it roughly a month before it closed. On the other side of things, a credit I just missed, Thunder Road at Carowinds. Missed by literally 3 days!
WOFanatic
Mine was Wildfire at SDC. It's not defunct, but with the temperatures staying in the high 30's until 5:30, the ride was only open the last 20 minutes of the day.
PKIDelirium
Screechin Eagle. Went during one of the cheap "preview" weekends in June, ended up not returning that year, and then it turned out that 2002 was the last time it ever operated. Got six laps on it. XSupremacy
I got on Vortex's second to last train, would have been the last if it wasn't for the stupid contest CGA did
thrillseeker4552
Disaster Transport. I rode it in 2012 on my very first visit to Cedar Point, and it closed less than a week after I left. Also, Deja Vu at Six Flags Magic Mountain. It closed down a few months after my first visit to SFMM, and I may have rode it only 2 or 3 times total. BeansproutMidget
Thunder Road, technically. I got one ride in on one side, and then the ride shut down just as I was going around for the second side. I didn't make it back down to Charlotte, and it was closed and demolished by the time I did. Masquerade
Mean Streak about three weeks before it closed (1st visit ever to Cedar Point). I've had to up my Lexapro dosage to subside the PTSD symptoms.
