Hhappy
So this weekend I got the chance to take a quick trip to Rome and visit Cinecitta World. This park opened July 24th this year (the Thursday before my visit) I was there on sunday. Had an awesome visit and a great tour around the park. I really liked the park for what it is. It has the different movie set area's which look good. It has 2 coasters (1o inversion and indoor), a mack water ride (which is always fun during the Italian summer) a drop tower and some other small stuff. The food options are good (fresh made) and there's always something to see when walking around. A small cowboy show in the spaghetti western area, or some singing in the roman restaurant during lunch time. The evening before my visit I drove by the park and it looked stunning with all the lights they have set up for the evening opening hours. Unfortunately I did not have the time to check out the park after sunset. Hopefully next time. The staff was giving their best and interested in learning new things. It felt like they were enjoying working at the park and felt connected to the park and making it an awesome place to visit. The park also has a pretty good show called Enigma. It's visually pretty good and entertaining. For the people that are interested in a deeper meaning behind the things you see.. it's there So yeah, great visit. The video's will follow soon Here is the video of Altair: But first, pictures looks like I made it now this looks like an entrance just a tiny bit of fog before opening the gates early 20's style mainstreet area small warming up show at the end of the mainstreet random film thing happening in the western area I love it when a parks invites their guests to join the fun so this train model might look familiar Darkmare the indoor coaster I love walking around darkrides when the lights are on this one has plenty of screens to keep you entertained and maybe even slightly confused during the ride it always surprises me how much track can be fitted in a certain area going up running through a wall so this is the "end"?? just a tiny bit of engineering time to cool down a little and go outside the area looks pretty good station building skloosh looks like a few people got a bit wet on this ride just another look next stop, drop tower water play area, always fun for kids and at night used for a fountain/projection show the drop tower was down for some fine tuning during my visit, but it got this view from inside i'll try to be quiet it's an elephant with a drop tower Erawan Lunch time time to check out Enigma smoke always helps big projections playing wit light dancing and multiplying how are you doing dj? playing with light and mirrors back to ancient rome haunted style and remember.. it's about the movies.. keep on singing making use of the stage hey, there's the elephant again I love the question mark the red scarf is a signature style thing of a famous Italian Director just like in the movies, credits time time to check out the big coaster at the park and it's 10 inversions lapbars are always fun different riding positions looking down the rolls here they come different rider reactions looking at the station inversion time final inversion Altair ride sign zig zag up the stairs lots of steel to look at almost at the top random riders up-side-down rolling so many small details to look at I really like how the coaster supports blend into the station building going up almost there going down final inversion outside of the station lifthill time for another quick lap through the park these stones are part of every western style area small picnic area another attraction (did not have the time today to check it out) indoor go-karts like area kids having fun kids area splash battle's are always fun it gives guests and riders the chance to interact typical kids area ride (one of many) looks pretty back to the water ride random riders here they come skloosh and yes, there is a soak zone more happy riders skloosh thank you so much for the visit and tour. Had a great time and how many parks do you know where they do a group photo in the soak zone? Edited July 30, 2014 by robbalvey

chickenbowl
Great pictures! I wasn't aware of how substantial the indoor Intamin was, it looks interesting (a thirteen-style drop track?). Thanks for going out there!

_koppen
The park looks awesome, but the main street do look like it could use one or two rows of trees.
Hhappy
Great Photos! Interesting park, wonder if there are any dark rides? it has an indoor coaster.. The park looks awesome, but the main street do look like it could use one or two rows of trees. well the main street is back to the 20's style.. not sure if those streets had many trees back in the day. regarding the other areas, they are working at/looking at more shade/covering. it's a brand new park with brand new trees and green stuff, so it's going to take a little while before these grow in (and get bigger)

rcjp
^Yeah, I'm curious about that too (especially the 10 looper). Great pictures, as usual.

Enjoyed them both? ^Yeah, I'm curious about that too (especially the 10 looper).Great pictures, as usual. Personal opinion: the 10 looper was not bad at all, those last few spins were pretty disorientating. Not sure if it was just the train or something else but the trains probably need a little bit of tuning. If they can fix those last (tuning) details it will be even better and more people will ride it over and over again. the indoor coaster was a lot of fun, the horror style with projections and then being a ride indoors made it a lot of (re-ridable) fun Edited July 29, 2014 by Hhappy
kailisun98
How did Cinecitta World's 10 looper feel compared with its older brother Colossus?
Hhappy
How did Cinecitta World's 10 looper feel compared with its older brother Colossus? Personal opinion: my last ride on Colossus was when just brutal (as far as I can remember as it has been a while) this one has lap bars (BIG plus compared to over the shoulder restraints) and feels more forceful and fun than colossus. CPSFMMCW
Glad Italy can add another Great park to its list. In a few years, i'm sure it'll be right up there with Gardaland and mirabilandia! It's already looking good. Although, that first picture of the parks name on it is kinda strange how its completely not detailed like the rest of the park...gives a different feel to it
Hhappy
^ I think you could see it (the white building you see first after parking) as the gateway to the world of movies. behind that is the themed entrance with ticket boots on the sides. glouthan
Great report! I love the "feel" of the park from you photos. The "Trojan Elephant" is awesome! And I love how the park made a path right down the line of sight of the four heartline inversions, so that the coaster would end up being very prolific. The park has plans to change this in the future so that there will be something like a viewing area.

Geauga Dog
Nice photos! I like the look of some of the areas in the park and it seems like they are off to a good start but it also seems like there isn't a whole lot to do ride wise (I realize they just opened).
