P. 651: Montezooma's Revenge project terminated?

From that MiceChat article:

If you are a huge fan of the Perilous Plunge water ride at Knott's Berry Farm, you'd better head over there. Knott's will be closing the attraction on September 3rd to make way for a brand new attraction that will be announced shortly.

Will it be a... giga?

Anyways, I'm surpised Knott's is getting a new attraction and I'm excited to see what it will be.

Let the insane speculation begin.

Whenever I've been to the park, Perilous Plunge hasn't been running.

Now you're just talking nonsense. This statement can't be true.

Wishful thinking here: Soapbox Racers 2.0. Only thing going against this would be that the GP would call this a copycat of Radiator Springs Racers. I don't think it's a new roller coaster since Raffi has wanting the park to revolve more around theme now. I'm going to guess a new dark ride or maybe even some indoor roller coaster.

^ A water element would be really good. Maybe even leave the Plunge Pool.

^^LOL, that poor ride. I would love to see it come back and have it integrated into the new coaster (if they are building one)

Ok, I give you the leaked knowledge on what it will be. They will finally be putting in the full version of Leviathan. You read it here first.

Or just the second half...it's like the whole Harry Potter expansion in Orlando - only Platinum Passholders can ride the full Leviathan!

I'm not even making a joke, an Aquatrax, or at least something with a water feature would be ideal.

Scrambler with water jets. Just sayin!

Posted

^The point we were making is that they already own a scrambler. Its sitting in pieces on property and was constantly moved to make way for new rides. Finally, when Pony Express was added, it was just placed backstage and not moved.

^This! Not to mention Scramblers require VERY little maintenance, only require 1 operator and are an absolute hit with families. Simple yet EXTREMELY effective ride.

Honestly, looking at the pics and videos of that water scrambler ... gonna go out on a limb and say that it would actually look really nice in that area of the park. I think they would have to make it faster than the kiddie version and obviously it wouldn't have the Spongebob theme but similar themeing would fit the boardwalk feel of that area of the park.

I am a bit sad that the announcement didn't include Boomerang in the removal.

Yes not to mention it would be a great family addition.

^You watch your mouth.

Boomerang is an antique. There's 3 attractions that will be running if that park were to burn to the ground. Wipeout, Supreme Scream and Boomerang.

^Oh yea........That too! Something else to to think about.........A Fahrenheit clone would fit in PP's plot of land. Just throwing that out there. It's not going to happen but something to wish for.

I guess Knotts finally got the memo that every park around them in So Cal is getting something new. Now that PP is being removed, the question is "What is the replacement?"

An intamin vertical lift coaster is purrr-fect

^ Don't think there is enough room there, unless they have it go around where Xcelerator is (which could actually be cool).

Now if they had said they were removing Boomerang too then I'm sure there would be speculation of just that.

If the new addition isn't coming until 2014 (which is probable) they could always let the boomerang run next summer and remove it at this time next year to make way for a new coaster.
