^but that forum is the WORST ride name forum.... This forum isnt really about the worst ride names, its about the strangest ones... We dont necessarily hate the ride names... Does that make any sense?

Vicky The Ride is named after Vicky The Viking, a character who first appeared in German-Japanese cartoons in the 70s and has been property of Studio 100 for quite some time now. They recently made a couple pretty successful live-action movies with him.

Now some will notice the above images say "Wickie" instead of "Vicky".

The original name is Wickie, but PlopsaCoo is located in a French-speaking region, where the character is known as Vicky.

I always found some of the names of Chinese coasters rather amusing such as Loop Screw Coaster

(Forgive me if there's already a thread for this. I searched for something like it on Google and TPR and didn't find anything on this site.)

You didn't search very hard! I merged your thread into an existing one.

Top Thrill Dragster, Kingda Ka, and Volcano: The Blast Coaster are all kinda weird.

Hurler and Montezooma's Revenge are based on unpleasant body functions.

But the oddest one is "Sky Princess" on a decent woodie at Dutch Wonderland. Really. But hey, they named the steelie "Joust" for no apparent reason, too.

Intimidator 305.

Very little effort there.....it's more like statign the obvious. It's right up there with 10 Inversion roller coaster.

They might as well call TTD the: 120mphStrataCoaster

Boogie-Woogie Space Coaster is very odd. Also 3 of Victory Kingdoms coasters have very generic names (Spinning Coaster, Suspended Looping Coaster, and U Shaped Roller Coaster).

Maybe its just me but "Dragster H2O" ... Like really?? I am not feeling that... They couldn't come up with something better??

It was voted for by the GP. What do you expect?

I allways thought Joris & de draak (or George and the dragon) to be a pretty weird name. I think most people would love to ride a dragon. Riding a George... I don't know.. Feels like I want to get to know him a little better first.

China provides quite the bumper crop of bizarre coaster names. One that caught my eye is "Revolving Pulley" for a standard Golden Horse Spinning Coaster. And let's not forget "Sky Scrapper," or the B&M Flying Coaster of Many Names, at World Joyland and Hidden Anaconda for the Skyloop at Happy Valley Wuhan.

A lot of them are probably just odd/bad translations, but there sure are some weird coaster names in China. A few of my weirdest favorites:

Hidden Anaconda, Dizzy Love & Whirling Passion, Happy Racing Boat, Lovely Fruit Worm Pulley, U-Shaped Roller Coaster, Bat Diving Speedy Car, Big Worm Inertia Train, King of Kings, Bull Fight in the Sky, Coulourfull Four Ring Coaster, Suspended Looping Coaster over Water, Crazy Jungle Squirrel, Golden-Dragon Tackle, High Altitude Rolling Sliding Coaster, Pig Bug Coaster, and Super Speed Cool-Cool Bear.
