Six Flags Enthuseast Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 My personal favorite was Colossos at Heide Park in Germany. When I rode it on the TPR Europe trip, part of our ERT happened in the rain and it ended up being totally amazing! In fact, I think I had more fun on the rain-rides than on the dry-rides! You know a ride is awesome when you have fun on it in the rain!
mwoods244 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Easily, Screamin' Eagle at SFSL and The Voyage at Holiday World. The later is a bit painful for the eyes, but so worth it!
2012jarrett Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Well going to Dollywood this week with a 30% chance of a storm, all these reports of their coasters make me excited! I've only ridden Maverick in a small sprinkle but it was great!
ZeroGravity55 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 The Voyage and Raven at Holiday World! Airtime on the Voyage goes from this to this
Aceattack52 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 ^ Well, Voyage is good no matter what condition.
ZeroGravity55 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 ^ lol of course! The rain just makes it go even more balls out than it does in normal conditions. Ask some TPR members about the night rain rides they got in 2009 at HoliWood Nights. I've read it was quite the religious experience and I wished I could of experienced it. That's actually on my bucket list, ride the Voyage at night when it's raining!
TunaSled Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 We enjoyed a rain ride on Dominator this Tuesday. Very fast. Slippery when wet!
Dr. M Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I just got back from Hershey where I rode the Comet, back row, immediately after a driving rain storm. I was shocked at the difference, the ride I got was almost Phoenix levels of awesomeness, airtime over every single hill. We were really flying! I didn't think it was possible.
ThanksforRiding Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Don't care for SLC's much but Mind Eraser at Darien Lake gave me the best ride I've ever had on one in the rain. So now I only do SLC's in the rain.
MorganFan Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 New Texas Giant New Texas Giant and New Texas Giant
Pyrozooka0 Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Intimidator at Carowinds is awesome when wet (still cant touch Goliath at SFOG though)
mike541x Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Pretty much every ride at BGW, especially if it's at night.
Moose Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I've only found wooden coasters to be better in the rain, and even better after a rain so you don't get pelted in the face while riding.
GoBears Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Viper at SFGAm. It starts squeaking on the turns and it feels so much faster.
mark549 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Voyage. Honorable mentions: Flight of Fear at Kings Dominion and Kings Island ...
Philrad71 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 ^ Voyage in the rain????? And how do you do Flight of Fear in the rain when it's indoors? Okay, I'm gonna assume a tinge of sarcasm here....
GayCoasterGuy Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 The ultimate rain coaster used to be The Beast... but that experience is a thing of the past I vote for Phoenix or Kennywood Thunderbolt. And anything Anton, of course.
SuperShawn Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Phantoms Revenge gave us some great and hilarious rides in the rain this past summer. Though my top pick coaster to ride in the rain is still Thunderhead.
gerstlaueringvar Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Does Dodonpa run in the rain? I guess not... But imagine the most intense acceleration followed by rain drops hitting in your face at 107mph!
Groteslurf Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Space Mountain I agree. Any indoor coaster would be fine for me
bert425 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I used to LOVE riding the Texas Cyclone in the rain -- that thing just flew when the tracks got wet. nowadays, I'm an old, crabby man. .if it rains, we do the indoor stuff
Woodie Warrior Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I had two rainy front seat rides on Outlaw Run and they were amazing, albeit a little painful. Runner up is a misty ride on American Thunder.
