^That sucks to have to deal with registration crap going into the end of the semester, we registered here like a month ago.

 

 

...with that said, I'm pissed because my school owes me money that I could really use. As part of my athletic aid here I get all of my school supplies for free from the campus book store. However, sometimes a teacher will put down something on a syllabus that isn't available at the campus book store, and in that case you have to go and buy it yourself and the athletic department will refund your money. I had $50 worth of crap I had to get at the beginning of the semester. Everybody else has gotten their reimbursement checks back except for me, so I go into the office today just to find that they lost my receipts! They had no idea what happened to the money they owe me! I know $50 doesn't sound like a lot of money to a lot of people, but I am a college student who can stretch $50 a loooong way (aka I'm broke). If I owed the school money and got it to them late then there would be some sort of penalty, so why should it be any different when it's the other way around? They promised me it would get worked out, but it still annoys me that I'm getting my refund so late. I bought that stuff in December!

Music snobs annoy me like no other.

 

That means, people who say...

 

"Ugh, you listen to __________?"

 

"Why do you like ______ genre of music? It sucks!"

 

"______ sold out, and now they are crap, even though I used to like them."

 

"I like to listen to everything, really. I just can't stand _______."

 

Maybe it's just me, but I appreciate all genres of music. Country, Jazz, Techno, Pop, Rock, Alternative, Metal, Goth, Indie, Rap, Hip-Hop, Classical... etc. There are good songs everywhere, and it bothers me when I am listening to something that might be labeled as "unconventional", and people are like... "What is this? It's terrible!"

Ugh... I hate the people who set court dates. I have to go and testify as a whitness in court, and I got two letters on the same day from the same person saying I have to testify but its on two different days for the same thing. Make any sense? Plus to make things worse the second date is May the 6th when we have to be in Ohio may 4th! Rawr. Stupid people....

I'm getting increasingly annoyed noticing the use of the expression 'I could care less' to describe when you don't care about something.

 

Why?

 

Because the expression should be 'I couldN'T care less'. If you could care less it would mean that you do care to some degree about something, and thus have the capability to care less for it.

 

I've already ranted about expressions that are incorrect once before, but this one is really starting to annoy me.

 

I completely agree. I ranted about that on another forum and everyone was all "FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!!!!1!" and being 'smart' like "Well, I COULDN'T care less about this rant."

I was one of 7 students nominated for student of the year and I lost and got 2nd to a girl who leaves blood drives and career fairs to go fuck her boyfriend(s) and leaves the rest of us(me) to do her work. The only reason she got it is because she knows the principal very well and he likes her a lot. She probably fucked him. She isn't smarter than me and does not deserve it.

It's almost 10:00 on a Friday night and I'm six pages into a paper on how the media is often misleading on reporting science. This paper sucks, I want to go out, but I have to finish this thing because I'm going to be in Atlanta tomorrow night and out of town most of the weekend.

I live a few hours from SFNE. home of the ride of FLIPPING steel! now, you'd think that I'm lucky, right? no. for one thing, I would spend the whole summer riding superman if I could. but my dad will not get season passes to six flags. that sounds reasonable, except that during the entire summer break I don't usually leave te state because my dad needs to be on his boat every other day at minimum. I need to go somewhere interesting! we switched docks so now I'm not anywhere near my friends except for a 5-day annual trip to martha's vineyard with them. (and I'll be back on the level of social outcast) the worst part is that no one is at all like my friends. we got in so much trouble together it was funny. we all could make fun of each other. and we stuck together. if deirdre (only girl in our trio of satan) wanted to watch a chick flick, us gracious gentleman would watch the same movie. okay, it was mostly because we usually ended up throwing foodstuffs at the actors and gambling our life savings away on a game of BS. whatever, we used to be really good friends, now my life is sh!t.

I'm just back from hospital.

 

My youngest daughter was hit by a bike yesterday afternoon and broke her leg. She had to stay one night in hospital, so since she's only 4, I stayed with here last night.

^I just got a flashback of a substitute teacher; her name was Ms Hatchet. She wore a mini meat cleaver around her neck. You didn't want to mess with her. She didn't play.

 

She got in my face one class when I was cleaning out my gym bag looking for some notes. She like to scare students; she tried it on me and I just said "Don't get so close. You need perfume."

 

I got sent to the office. I laughed all the way there... and the principal couldn't punish me with a straight face. She knew it was true. She just told me to go to the library and study.

I got an e-mail from my cousin's wife (who is good at regular family updates, actually). What bothered me is that, like too many others, she's picked up the habit of using "&" instead of the word "and."

 

Now, that makes sense when that's a part of a company's name, a title, etc., but to read regular text filled with &s is annoying. I would think that typing the word "and" would be easier than having to hold down the Shift key and hitting the "7" key.

LOL I hate when my friends try to be "coaster smart". It's not misinformation, they take what I tell them, look it up, and restate it incorrectly to sound like geniuses. Like, I believed that my friend had actually figured out the coaster stuff, until I go "dude, I just saw a video of a motorbike coaster by intamin, it sucked!" he replies "what??? Intamin built millenium falcon, superman, and Expo force! they rock! I can't believe they made a dumb coaster!" headdeskheaddeskheaddesk. oh, and dark knight at SFNE has been completely cancelled. how hard is it to get the damn building permit when their supposed to?

Grr!!! We have this HUGE project we are working on in our engineering class. It's for the school projects fair towards the end of the semester. Well, the teacher told us (on wednesday of last week) that he would let us know what to do for our projects on Monday. Well, his mom died, so he hasn't been here the past couple of days to tell us what to do. So this substitute is getting mad at all the kids for not doing anything. Um, we've told him countless times we don't have any instructions! We don't know what to do!

I hate alcohol, I hate everything about it. Now, because of it, one of my friends might die. This past friday, one of my friends from elementary school went to a party and got drunk (she was only 16). On top of that, before they got drunk, they did bars. Then she got in a car with her 18 year old boy friend who was also high/drunk and went driving on a highway. Neither of them were wearing seatbelts. They got up to 90mph when the 18 year old lost control of the car and hit a wall flipping the car 7 times. My friend (the 16 year old girl) was thrown 150 ft from the car. When she landed, she landed on her back shattering her spine. I talked to the family and when the EMS called to tell the parents they said "she is either dead, going to die, or paralyzed." She is currently under a medicine induced coma. I first heard she was only paralyzed from her legs down which was yesterday. Then today I heard that she may be paralzyed from her neck down meaning she can't breathe, make her own heart beat, etc. Basically, she will die if this is the case. Her 18 year old boyfriend is a vegetable currently because when he landed he puntured his lung and his brain.

 

I have been friends with the family since I was in first grade. I really don't know what to think. Please pray for the entire family.
