coast4airtime Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Here is the link on Screamscape about GCI. It is dated 6/23/10. http://screamscape.com/html/kings_dominion.htm Like it said, they might just be doing rehab on one of the rides.
Skycoastin Steve Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 While on the subject of GCI and Kings Dominion, it seems the constant mentioning that someone from GCI was at the park during the event was kind of an inside joke. Someone from GCI was there, but only to hang out… not on business.
Chroniq Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Not to be a hater, but threads like this make me wonder how many people actually read all the posts.... That being said it's definitely not a new steel building in PA for train building, It's clearly a secret "sink or swim" project for Ghost Town in the Sky.. Chris "Just Noise" Connolly
Jds03 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I'm putting my money down for Freestyle Music Park
chadster Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 ^ Should I send you my paypal address now or later?, because I'm taking that bet!
tntornadox Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 My money is also on Opryland... they haven't added anything in going on 13 years now!
coast4airtime Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Today they posted it would have a steel structure. Not much help to figure out where it is but I thought it was cool that they were making a hybrid.
Tmcdllr Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 A building is a structure, sometimes containing steel, so is a metal fence, a bridge, a large sign...all some sort of structure with steel.

robbalvey Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 Today they posted it would have a steel structure. Not much help to figure out where it is but I thought it was cool that they were making a hybrid. A hybrid GCI project? Hmmm......
Skycoastin Steve Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Don't buildings have steel structures?
hyyyper Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Nowadays building are made out of gingerbread and cardboard, so...no.
LcHg5265 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Maybe it is to allow a coaster that currently has one train to have two. (i.e. storage / transfer track)
larrygator Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Maybe it is to allow a coaster that currently has one train to have two. (i.e. storage / transfer track) I was thinking the same thing, but didn't have the time to check if GCIs in the USA had only one train (Beech Bend???)
coastermoosh Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 The clue mentions it's a USA project. GCI has built 12 coasters in the USA, of which only one operates with a single train: Beech Bend's Kentucky Rumbler.
mightbeawannabe Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 ^^The ones that do have two have a whole transfer table (e.g. Prowler) but I think that other types of storage track types (switches) could be added without a steel structure. My money's on shop expansion.
HerBlackWings Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Raise your hand if you didn't bother reading or at least skimming the thread. Commence pointless pontification.
chadster Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I'm sticking with a building, the pics on the intern site and facebook site have too similar of surroundings.
Hayzle Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 How come they never let out what they were doing?
Skycoastin Steve Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 ^They did, it was the new building on their property.
