Hattuchili
Photo-TR: A Short Trip To Bahrain and Dubai! First Stop: Bahrain - My first coaster in the middle east. Hey guys, I just came back from a short trip to Bahrain and Dubai. This time I was able to ride a coaster in Bahrain, as well as in Dubai. It was already freaking hot there and I was glad that most of the places have an air condition. We spend 2 days in Bahrain and 2 days in Dubai. I got some really nice shots from both cities. However, in total I have to say that I liked Dubai more than Bahrain. The coaster was also better in Dubai. Okay, onto the pictures! --Soren Welcome to Bahrain. The city of middle east culture... ... and modern buildings! The BAHRAIN WORLD TRADE CENTER has giant wind turbines! It is also the city of huge doors... ... Burger King "Arabic style"... ... "King Size" condoms... ... friendly people... (Do they really need king size condoms???) ... and of course "Ladies Drop Off" stations! Okay, back to the culture! How about some fresh vegetables? Actually I think that´s what they need the "King Size" condoms for...!? However, lets remember we are still in the middle of the desert! So, how about a fresh chicken burger at "Kentucky fried ch...." Ummm... I mean "Bahrain fried chicken" What the hell is that? Enough of that... This is what I am here for! Welcome to Chakazoolu Indoor Theme Park! Lets grab a ticket... There is only one coaster in the park, called: Jungle Storm! There it is... Umm, kind of. There we go, Jungle Storm! ... I survived it. Later in the day we already had to fly to Dubai. We were all booked on Gulf Air... The plane was nearly empty. Everyone of our crew could take its own raw. Bye bye Bahrain. The small snack we got on the 1 hour flight. A chicken sandwich, orange juice and some sweets. At the end the whole crew took some pictures with the Gulf Air flight attendants. Next Stop: Dubai. In the back you can see the highest tower in the world... more is coming soon! Edited April 23, 2010 by Hattuchili

Josh Linn
The Burj Khalifa is scary huge. Those buildings next to it are probably close to 1,000 feet tall but look microscopic compared to it.
Hattuchili
Photo-TR: A Short Trip To Bahrain and Dubai! Update: 04.23. - Next Stop: Dubai + video !!! Hey guys, I am sorry that I did not post the second part any earlier, but I got stuck in Spain for a couple days, cause of the ash cloud over europe. Anyway, finally I made it safe back home and have some time to post more pictures. We flew to Dubai and I was able to check out Sega Republic and its coaster Spingear at the Dubai Mall. There I was also able to get half way up on the the Burj Khalifa, as well as having dinner at T.G.I. Fridays, with a wonderfull view over to the Dubai fountains. I shot 2 videos of the fountain show at the Dubai Mall: [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=MOV08625_o267[/coastertube] [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=MOV08640_2r1w[/coastertube] Okay, onto the pictures! --Soren Welcome to Dubai. First off all we took the Metro to the Dubai Mall. There we go. The Dubai Mall entrance. Sega Republic, the first reason why we came to the Dubai mall. My Sega Republic Play Pass. It was 10am and the place was totally empty. Guess where we are. like I´ve said, the place was totally empty. Yes, Spingear. That´s what we came for. From the outside it doesn´t look that specatculare, but there is a huge indoor part. Lets ride that baby. Two thumbs up for my own car. Next we went to the lake, ride beside the Dubai Mall. Nothing much going on here, too. Later in the day, the promenade will be packed with people. The Burj Khalifa, the second reason why we are here. We were lucky to get tickets to the top of Burj Khalifa. There we go. That´s how the whole are around Burj Khalifa looks right now. They had some cool light effects inside the elevator to the top. Guess where we are, right AT THE TOP. The view from up here is awesome. You can see, we are in the middle of the desert. ... In the far back you can see a bit of "The World" islands. The Dubai fountains, kinda like the ones in Las Vegas. Yes, I made it and the view was great. The financial district of Dubai. Uhh, that is really high. Like nearly every tour this one also has to end with a merchandise shop. Later in the day we went to T.G.I. Fridays to watch the fountain show. We were sitting right beside the lake. What a great view from here. What could be better than good food and a nice show. They were starting the fountains every 15 minutes. Don´t forget to take a look at my Dubai fountain videos. One last view to the Burj Khalifa. Thanks again for reading.

Ryancrash
Wow, what a view from the top of the tower! Kinda like looking down on the earth from outer space. The Sega Republic looks like Sega Joypolis in Tokyo (except Sega Joypolis would have been a lot more crowded).

Hattuchili
Dubai looks so unreal. That´s true. It is almost a year since I´ve been the last time to Dubai and it felt like I went to a totally new place. So many buildings grew out of nothing in just a short period of time. But I like the city. Nearly everyone is speaking english, which makes it easy to understand everything and getting around. I also like the arabic food. Since there is so much going on there, I really hope they will still finish some of the theme parks they have planed. --Soren

Hattuchili
What's up with the women's drop off point? I thought it is a funny sign. But I guess it is more an islamic thing, since there is a strict partition between women and men!?
