Password121
The last time I rode KK I noticed the floater air on the camelhump, I had never noticed it before. Very light floater air but I was up and out of my seat for a good couple of seconds. I'll have to look for that when I ride Kingda Ka this weekend. In the past, the OTSR's have tightened so much that all I can focus on is the pain in my thighs. The same problem many people have had on Skyrush. I didn't have that problem on Dragster, but Dragster also doesn't have that camel hump.

Nitro1118
How will the lines be on that friday? Read my post on the last page. If you want specific wait times that's nearly impossible. Weather, summer camps, and other variables make it too difficult to predict. Also, lines vary throughout the day.

However, there was one ride in specific that through the camel hump, the restraints tightened so much that I had to clench my fists in pain and could not wait to get off. They dug into my legs and my thighs were red.'this obviously isn't the case for everyone, and usually isn't for me either.
jetsplumber
How will the lines be on that friday? I would expect the park to be crowded. schools in the area are pretty much out. plus the summer camps are starting. the summer is here.
JonnyRCT3
Question. What would one consider the airtime on Kingda Ka's camleback hill? Is it light floater air, comparable to B&M hypers? Personal physics project. I would say it is light floater, like on B&M hypers. Only you don't really feel it because the restraint, by then, is really tight, but I did notice there was some. It seems there is some very light floater air. My calculations were correct, I thank you all.

Goose
Hi, my name is Goose, and I'm a recovering coaster addict... The last time I rode anything was actually my trip two years ago to the NYC area, where I rode the Cyclone at Coney Island. So, with an open day on my current trip, it was time to end the coaster drought and head to SFGAdv last Thursday. It had been raining earlier in the morning, with the forecast calling for a chance of more later on. I chose to still head down to the park, and was greatly rewarded for it. The place was pretty much empty all day, with only a few school groups filling things up. The longest lines all day were seen at El Toro and Superman, which were running about 30 minutes at peak. While most everyone chose to go left once the gates opened, I chose to go left. The first ride of the day was on Nitro, which is certainly one heck of a kick-in-the-pants! I was able to get a couple of re-rides in before moving on. Next up was Batman, which is just like every other Batman out there. Again, they were allowing people to ride as long as seats were available. The Dark Knight was kind of cool, but I had already ridden the one at SFGAm. It wasn't quite as dark as I'd like a dark ride to be. I next headed to Skull Mountain, where I got the biggest surprise of the day. There, I ran into my friends Steve and Crystal, whom I had no idea would even be there today. While I was planning on just rushing through the park on my own, it's always much better to share the day with friends, and I thank them for letting me hang out with them all afternoon! As for Skull Mountain itself, the ride was OK, but nothing spectacular. Much darker than Dark Knight. After that, we hooked back so Steve and Crystal could get rides on the three I had already done. From there, we crossed back toward the other half of the park. By this point, the rain was starting to show up at the park. Thus, my ride on Green Lantern became very wet. Green Lantern was alright, but I think I like Riddler better at SFMM. Superman has a pretty decent wait, but it was well worth it. Again, I like Tatsu at SFMM better for it's larger size, but this one is alright. I'm not a big fan of the pretzel loop. Next up was the worst ride of the day, the park's little mine train. I don't know if it's the rain or the age of the ride, but it was extremely rough! I think we were all agreed that one ride was enough on this one. Finally, we waited and got on El Toro. I can see why everyone keeps giving it the rave reviews. I liked it a whole lot more than T-Express in Korea. However, it took them so damn long to dispatch the train with them having to make sure all the bars are down completely. Kingda Ka was down all day, though they were testing Zoomanjaro pretty constantly. Not that big a loss for me, since I have already ridden Top Speed Dragster at Cedar Point. After El Toro, it was raining pretty hard, so I decided to call it a day. I didn't get to ride Bizzaro, but I'm not all that broken up over it. Of course, as soon as I had left the parking lot, the skies cleared and it was beautiful the rest of the day. Overall, I liked SFGAdv a lot! The park was very clean, and everyone was extremely friendly. I'd like very much to come back here next time I'm through! Steve-
Seddy
I've returned with more pictures from my awesome day at Great Adventure yesterday! After patiently waiting all day... The time finally came... What a sight to see.. a full train completing its course! I put my phone in a fluffy bunny before getting in line, but a nice guy visiting with his son took this pic for me and emailed it to me! After my Kingda Ka experience, I had to get a shot underneath that beautiful sign! My friends phone doesn't take good pictures though. And I also purchased my Kingda Ka on-ride photo. Notice me and my friends were the only ones with our hands up! FRONT ROW!!! Leaving the park, I got another pic of Green Lantern and Superman. I also got a pic of the beautiful Kingda Ka with a train going over the Tophat. Looks like they got Superman running again... LOL And I end my trip with a pic of Nitro cresting the lift... yankeeman311
I'm gonna ask an interesting question here. GAdv had some rumors to get a big addition next year. With the near confirmation of MM and NE getting RMCs, do you think this eliminates the possibility of GAdv getting a big coaster too or do you think next year can be a big year for Six Flags? I ask because the last brand new coaster we've gotten is Dark Knight in 2008 but SF has only done 2 big additions the last few years. Medusa and Goliath this year, Full Throttle and Iron Rattler last year, X Flight and Superman: Ultimate Flight in 2012. With that pattern and every Six Flags getting something every year, what do you guys think?
jetsplumber
i dodnt think SFGAdv will be getting anything new in 2015. its between NYC and Philly, guests will come no matter what. I do wish SFgadv would get rid of the OTSR on Kingda Ka. Would make the ride 100x better.

I ask because the last brand new coaster we've gotten is Dark Knight in 2008 but SF has only done 2 big additions the last few years. Medusa and Goliath this year, YOLOcoaster and Iron Rattler last year, X Flight and Superman: Ultimate Flight in 2012. With that pattern and every Six Flags getting something every year, what do you guys think? There is a slight chance that Colossus won't open until 2016. In that case, a larger attraction, whether or not it's a coaster, is still a possibility in 2015. However, all signs are pointing towards a Summer 2015 opening, booking two projects for 2015. I agree in that I don't see SF making three major investments in 2015, especially considering the scale of the Colossus renovations. In that case, which is the likely option, I could very well see a very large investment in Gadv in 2016, and potentially some flats/park improvements next year in 2015. A year similar to 2012 would do wonders for the park as is.
coasterbill
With Zumanjaro being such a high profile ride this year I could see them getting something small next year and then a bigger investment in 2016 (Wing Coaster Maybe?). Ideally I'd love to see some general improvements next year like some additional theming / general cleanup of the less appealing parts of the park (the old Rolling Thunder area, Camp Aventura and Movie Town) and maybe the re-opening of the path that connects the now separate parts of the Golden Kingdom. Some new lights in Golden Kingdom are really necessary too though they may be working on that this year with Zumanjaro on the way. Personally if they just did that and maybe re-tracked the valley before El Toro's turnaround and fixed Nitro's train C I'd be happy... I wouldn't even care if they added a new ride (they will though as they've decided every park needs something every year... hopefully it's another flat ride with mass appeal like Skyscreamer was, personally I'd love to see a Frisbee). jetsplumber
a start could be, repaving of the parking lot. painting of the rusty water tower. cleaning up the exterior of the cruddy great lake grandstand. Reopening Old country. add some new flat rides to help on lines.
rcjp
personally I'd love to see a Frisbee That would be nice. I'm not really into flat rides but Maxair at CP was really good.
El Toro_Ryan
No promises that this is true but I've heard from Theme Park Maniacs that Zumanjaro will have a season pass holder preview day on Friday, July 3rd and will open to the public the day after. Stay tuned to hear for an official announcement from the park.
DevilsFlight
I hope we get a new coaster. We are long overdue foot a park with such a high popularity. Some flats will be nice too but El Toro was the last major coaster. And that was 8 years ago. I think one in movietown or frontier adventures would work great
