Six Flags Great Adventure (SFGAdv) Discussion Thread

Well there it is. I would have preferred flats but this cool if it's as good as everyone says. I think it's pretty clear it's going in the Chillers spot since the construction materials are by Nitro and the Chiller spot is all cleared out. Which is great since it'll then likely be open for HITP.

I think it's pretty much a given that this will go in Chiller's old spot based on the cleanup that's already been underway there. And while it's certainly possible that a flat or two may come along with it to further round out and reopen the former Old Country area, I'm not going to hold my breath over it. JL coming to the park and getting a section reopened makes me happy enough already.

I was banking on that package coming this year. I never thought the park would pony up to build a brand new show building instead of converting the simulator building on the other side of the park.

People tend to forget that there are more logistics behind a change like that than what we see as guests. The building actually serves several purposes at the moment. As Harry at GAH pointed out, in addition to the two terror trails inside it, the back is storage and the complete left side of the building, which was added on to since the days when it was used as a ride, is used by the games dept today for prize storage.

I know the theater building serves other purposes right now, but if HITP continues to grow they can reopen with a new movie. I just saw a winter themed (non-license) movie at a small park.

I thought I've previously read that the actual sim / theater was gutted from the building a while ago. If that's true I don't see them building it again.

Hopefully they last longer than The Dark Knight's effects lasted. The hologram billboards were really cool and one stopped working a couple years after opening and the the other one stopped working maybe a year after that. Same with the Bat Signal that seems to only work half the time and clowns in the subway car at the end of the ride.

I guess that I would rather see them get this addition over with now rather than later. It's inevitable that all large SF parks will probably get one at some point. I don't have a problem with the Justice League rides, I just wish that they all were a little different. Once again, it doesn't matter because the GP won't know or care that there are other models. I think it would be cool if this model was related to the "Suicide Squad" movie that's coming out.

At least from what I've heard, people have had a lot of fun on these, and the effects are holding up good. It's something better than having the Chiller plot sit empty.
