Bring back Viper!

There might be something wrong with me, because I read this and immediately shouted out "Yes!" Maybe I never recovered from the concussion Viper (probably) gave me.

Viper is quite literally (with no exaggeration AT ALL) the worst ride I've ever ridden in my entire life. Period.

I've never had the "pleasure" of riding Goudurix though.

Oh, I agree, Viper sucked. I'm just proud of the fact that I have the credit, and got it at a time where it was rare for the ride to even operate (2004).

Viper was the first coaster I rode with inversions. I consider myself lucky that I wasn't permanently turned off from coasters thereafter.

Only thing that Viper was good for, was a cool looking train!

Actually, the ride did have a surprisingly great first drop, and the heartline roll was fun. The rest of the coaster, specifically the transitions and shoulder restraints, was awful.

I never tried Scream Machine or Shockwave, so I can't compare them to Viper. But compared to some of the other arrow loopers I've been on ( Carolina Cyclone, TN Tornado, Demon, Walbash Cannonball) I can say it was the smoothest and most enjoyable ride outside of TN Tornado.. Not to mention that when I went Viper had a full station that mornig but by the afternoon was a station wait or less, so I really got to enjoy it in all different seats and everything.

I'm at the park right now and everything is running and El Toro's crew is slower than hell. It's been about 10 minutes for one train...also only one train.

Nitro is running great with all 3 trains.

You know we're talking about this Viper (TOGO)...

...and not this one (Arrow), right?

Is it train C again?

Or are you saying "A train" as in Train A". If so then never mind my dumb question...

I THINK I heard complaints on the "A" train in a video posted just a few days ago from the park. I thought that they had switched wheels on all of them this season to get rid of the notorious "C-train" rattle though.

Posted
Actual "A" train, it was terrible.

I take it the "B" train is the one to wait for then? Or did they just swap the letters on "C" and "A" this year?

C train has new wheels and is butter smooth. Rode it on opening day the ride was a bit slower than usual but it should be tremendous once the wheels are broken in.

They were running all 3 trains on Nitro when it opened, but took one train off because the park is dead.

It's so dead I managed to ride Superman twice in a row in the front row.

No lines are out of any of the stations.

Kingda Ka is up and down, it's been up but every time I go to ride it closes because rain lmao

Nitro is running great with all 3 trains.

The crew is always slower to start the year. I biggest problem I saw today was people refusing to pull their lap bars down all the way. When the dispatcher has to call out Cars 1,3,4,5 and 6 to recheck it is a problem.

The conundrum is that the ride ops are lenient and only gently push down the lap bar the first time through then they have to recheck practically every restraint. On the flip side, if they stapled everyone in right away people would be complaining about that.

The extra layer of clothing that people wear plays a part in the slowness as does the unfamiliarity of the ride ops where the lap bar has to be to lock. The experience ride ops can clearly see if car 4 if called which lap bars are higher than other and go to that lap bar first. In the beginning of the season, the ride ops staple everyone in your car before approaching the person with extra layers of fat or clothing.

I did not spend a lot of time in the park today but El Toro, Nitro, KK and Z:DoD all had significant down time in the 2.5 hours I was there.

Toro and Nitro definitely opened late. We got here at 10:45 but Ka was running, but kept going down for weather.

Around 11:30 Toro and Nitro opened. Everything seems to be open now.

Wow so they really did go with the fake flames to go w/ the lighting package on Diablo.

Color me impressed. Did I mention I'm really gunning for some landscaping around it? lol

Now if Golden Kingdom and PDC could connect directly to the left of El Diablo (Where the mini-arcade is), ED would have really cool placement. It would be quite the spectacle.

Does anybody know what's going on in this picture?
