If you would have told people in 2008 that Canada's Wonderland would get a 300 footer, they would've all said no too, but here we are.

If we do ever get one, I don't think it'll be for a while. They've got so many less expensive options that would be better.

It can have lap bars only and a 0-150mph launch in 3.1 seconds with a Mega-lite-inspired layout and a bonus helix! Let's not forget a water splash! We'll theme it to a pile of dirt and call it Laser Snake Horse on Fire!

Hey lets build a 420 foot coaster even though Millennium Force, and Magnum XL-200 are right there. Excuse me sir this is Cedar Fair.

^ Top Thrill is a launched coaster with completely different elements at their flagship park. The height of it was so it could be a record breaker.

The fact that they have i305 definitely wouldn't stop them from building an Intamin Accelerator.

 

The only problem is that there's more than five other reasons to not build a one.

I would totally be content with a Maverick-esque type Intamin. It Would go perfect in Hurlers spot

^^^^^ But all of those coasters revolutionized the industry as they were all firsts (magnum broke the 200 barrier millie 300ect.), it doesn't make sense to do this again because you lose the individual parks uniqueness in the chain and is diminishes cedar point as "the park to go to" in the cedar fair chain.

 

And don't even think about a record breaker because, 1. it's expensive(kingda ka-$28 million)2. there is another ride like that in the chain and I doubt intamin would bring lap bars onto this thing again, making cedar point still the destination and wasting money.

CF would do it if they were interested in making a quick ROI regardless of which park they did it in & with the new CEO coming on board he may decide to take CP in a different direction than Kinzel did with less emphasis on making it the sole bread winner of the chain.

How exactly do you know they would do it? They could announce tomorrow that they've decided to not put in a Windseeker and put in a super sized StarFlyer instead.

 

Kings Dominion being a part of Cedar Fair doesn't mean anything, especially to 95% of the guests in the park, who don't even know who Cedar Fair is. So many enthusiasts trash on Cedar Fair for their "practices", all that trashing goes down the toilet when you look at a park as an individual. The park could be in the worst possible chain but have the best guest service in [insert region here].

 

Just look at Dorney Park. That park has remained perfectly viable throughout all these years without any crazy-expensive addition like a record-breaker or a giga coaster. You wouldn't even think it were a Cedar Fair park.
