djrappa
Could this be the best attraction ever? Post videos that you find that are not your normal theme park or water park attraction that get an OMFG reaction! Coaster Cow
This is awesome! I love these videos. There are some pretty good ones out there if you look hard enough.
cfc
Hmm--simple concept results in increased chance for foolishness and personal injury. Perfect!
frozenflames
Oh my goodness! That looks so incredibly fun! I've never been on a blob that large, but the camp that I work at has a small one, and I once blobbed one of the campers so hard she did a backflip in the air. But yeah, I think it wouls be amazing to be the launch-ee on this, with that height!
TPDave
The would be an epic TPR takeover!! It looks pretty cool, I'm not sure it'll catch on though Dave
kumba830
These have been around a while. I have seen a few of them at camps I've been to, and they are AMAZINGLY fun! Especially when the person launching you weighs like three times your weight!
Skycoastin Steve
Yeah blobs have been around for years. When I was a senior in high school (2003), we had an end of the year party at this nearby camp that had one of those on a lake. A good friend of mine's girlfriend, who weighed barely over 100 pounds and was not even 5 feet tall, was on the end when I jumped (I'm 6'5 and weighed about 215 at the time). I launched her a good 20 feet in the air and she came down on her side and had massive bruising on her ribs. My friend literally hated my guts for a very long time because of that. I always thought it was a silly reason to hate someone, it wasn't my fault because she asked me to launch her!
SharkTums
Yeah, these aren't really new...I've seen them at summer camps since the 80's. The only problem is, like Steve mentioned, they're disappearing in America due to people getting hurt and our awesome lawsuit friendly country. robbalvey
Actually, this is a great idea for a thread! Try to find the best video of an "attraction" that is not a theme park or water park "ride" (meaning like don't post a video of your favorite roller coaster) that totally looks OMFG!!! WHAT THE HELL!?!??! to share with the rest of us! --Robb

Gav
Awesome idea for a topic...Anyway, here is something I saw a while back, what I love about it is that clearly it would be possible to sling shot yourself into the ground if the elastic was pulled in the wrong direction:

traincrossin
^I remember reading stories of how tons of people got hurt on that thing. Here's what robot programmers do on their day off. It's like a homemade KUKA robot arm ride. Watch your head though.

Angry_Gumball
Not really an attraction, but this looks cool! I don't think I'd have the guts to try it out though...Basically, it's like a launch cable for your skateboards/longboards/roller blades. You and a buddy pull the bungee cord back, you hang on and your buddy releases it to send you flying down the street. And of course you'd let go of the bungee once your speed is reached. Seems dangerous enough, and can't expect to see them lasting here in lawsuit land, USA. If you're curious in buying one, it's called a Banshee Bungee. And of course, you can't forget the classic (human powered) turn tables/merry-go-rounds/round-abouts found in playgrounds back then. So fun, found one a couple of months ago and had my brother and cousin get that thing spinning pretty fast with me on it...childhood memories! Lastly, (again almost forgot about this) the Wipeout course! I'd love to go play on that for a day..lol I'm sure someone here can agree Edited February 8, 2010 by Angry_Gumball
