Any ideas of what the park could possibly add for next season? maybe a flat ride in hang times old spot maybe?

Coming next season: Dorney's closure due to lack of ability to compete with other regional parks.

What are you talking about? The waterpark is always slammed. They will keep the waterpark open and close the dry side

That gust of wind you hear is the joke flying over your head.

Sort of last minue, but I'm heading to the park tomorrow. The "processing fee" for online ticket purchases is $6 (ridiculous). Does anyone know of any fast food places that have the discount vouchers, or what those vouchers might offer? Wondering if buying at the park is the better deal.

buying online is actually the better deal. you save i believe 15 dollars on the gate price.

Subways and Burger Kings have discount Dorney coupons. At least the ones where I live. But even with that processing fee, the ticket on-line is still cheaper than the price at the gate.

You should not need FL at all, save your money for crab fries.

Also check your PMs.

That actually ended up not to be true. After the processing fee and tax, the online ticket came to about $51. I ended up buying at the park with a Subway coupon for $47.99.

I ended up having a really terrible overall experience at the park yesterday. I've always heard about Saturday crowds, and they were in full force, and quite a "rough" crowd too - Definitely worse than anything I've ever experienced at Great Adventure. I encountered some of the most class-less and unfriendly people yesterday, and in conjunction with terrible service, horrible employees/lifeguards (I watched a grown man collide with a young girl going down a water slide because the lifeguard was clearly more preoccupied with coworkers than keeping people safe), and the absolutely astronomical prices, I'm going to stay away from Dorney for quite a while.

Six Flags has proven to be (shockingly) better at providing a consistent, mostly pleasant experience with spectacular rides.

End rant.

Allentown is a pretty rough city. The downtown area is on its way to becoming the Camden, NJ of the Poconos.

has anyone ever wondered how great the park would probably be if cedar fair never bought the paramount parks? now dorney and many other smaller parks of the chain are neglected and cf could care less about them.

I don't think Dorney is neglected, Cedar Fair has added something almost every year since they took over the park.

2015 - Cedar Creek Flyers

2014 - Snake Pit

2012 - Stinger

2011 - Planet Snoopy

2010 - Demon Drop

2009 - Good Time Theater

2008 - Possessed

2007 - Aqua Racer

2005 - Hydra

2004 - Revolution

2003 - 10 new slides for WWK

2002 - Meteor

2001 - Talon

2000 - Camp Snoopy

1999 - Dominator

1998 - Hangtime

1997 - Steel Force

1994 - Thunder Canyon and Road Rally

1993 - White Water Landing and Cedar Creek Cannonball

Surely CF wont relocate Shockwave to DP.....I mean, I know they have relocated several rides to DP, but Shockwave?

See, I agree with you in spirit, but would say "neglected" is too strong of a term. MiA is the only park that could really make a serious claim to that designation, and even then, they haven't really been neglected. That being said, there is no doubt that the Paramount parks purchase affected the smaller parks in the CF chain greatly, and it does make for an interesting game of "What could have been?"

From Steel Force, to Talon, to Hydra, major coaster additions were on a routine four year schedule prior to the Paramount parks. Then the transplants began three years later, after GL's closure, and then back to four years later for another relocation. Interestingly, if they continue that pattern you are due for another transplant in 2016... How convenient one coaster just became available!

In all seriousness, however, had CF not purchased the new parks, I doubt DP would have more coasters than they do currently, but at least they would have likely received an original coaster, instead of Stinger. I think the GL purchase and closure would have happened, regardless, so there's a strong chance you still would have received Possessed.

They moved Demon Drop... Anything is possible...

Something like Buzzsaw at SFNE would fit nicely there.

Dorney used to have a similar ride, I believe it was called The Joker. I don't recall when it was removed, but it used to be down constantly, and parts had to be shipped in from Europe.

You are correct, sir!

But Demon Drop is awesome.

After riding Shockwave for the first (and only) time a few weeks ago, I think I would cry if CF relocated it to Dorney. My god I have never experienced pain like I did on that ride, it was even worse than KD's Hurler.

I'd imagine the excitement graph would go something like this: Dorney announces new major, extreme excitement. Dorney announces it's a relocation from another park, excitement decreasing. Dorney announces it's Shockwave, crippling depression followed by not leaving the house for a number of days.
