Sk610 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Screamscape is reporting that SFA's intamin trains showed up at SFDL. That would give them as many as 4 trains possibly on a ride where they only run 1. I know at least 1 is for parts, if not both, but it's a small start https://x.com/Fightingmoon342/status/2006265493662113793/photo/1
ricklap77 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Plenty of train parts now! I still hope Superman at SFA gets saved not scrapped!
pryonisys Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Dumb question, did SFA run two trains on Superman? Just curious if the brake run (insanely short) was good enough there to prevent bumping the train in the station, and if that could be a change made to Darien Lake's ROS. Because of how the park is run I don't anticipate them running two trains any time soon, but it would be nice if they could.
CaptainUnknown Posted January 7 Posted January 7 There could also be insurance/legal reasons why Darien Lake only runs one train. Remember when New Jersey said that Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro could not both be in cycle at the same time? 1
Sk610 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Promises, SFA added an additional brake caliper to their brake run so the didn't have to worry about the trains bumping in the station 1 1

Of course it doesn't mean Darien Lake will, but was I was just curious what the difference was between the two regarding the brakes 1
Sk610 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 It is my understanding that DL's version does not have the extra brake caliper 1

pryonisys Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Goodbye Darien Lake (from a Six Flags perspective at the end of the season). This is complete speculation on my part, but I would be surprised to see this park in the chain in 2027 after today's press release. EPR already owns the park, I would be surprised if the lease agreement is not ended after the 2026 season. Maybe EPR will put in some money to the park, but I really don't expect anything coming to the park for a long time.
Sk610 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 It sounds like EPR already has a company that will be managing their parks in Enchanted Parks. My guess is that SFDL will go back to regular Darien Lake in 2027. Honestly though it seems like a good thing for DL as the parks sold are all very similar and DL may turn into a flagship park due to their hotel, campground and concert venue on top of the amusement park. It may not, but you never know

It may not, but you never know Lease with Six Flags has a lot of time left and is triple net. With it not being mentioned as part of the deal, id say SF keeps it.
john10693 Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I agree. SF wanted DL back and I believe an option to purchase was part of the original lease agreement IIRC. It would not suprise me one bit if they did outright buy it. As has been stated many times DL has multiple revenue streams. Also if the premise was to exit from the EPR lease, why send SFA "parts" to DL. Also, I was thinking about the low sale price for the 7 Enchanted parks, possibly being tied into a DL sale to SF. Again, just speculating.
TheAmericanKnight Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Any word on if Predator is getting more titan track this season and where on the track?

According to an article published the other day by Buffalo Business First, the Predator will receive 500 feet of Titan Track this year, with the remaining amount to be replaced by 2027. If you don't have a subscription for Buffalo Business First and are a member of the Six Flags Darien Lake Connoisseurs group on Facebook, a member of the group did post more details from the article in a post there of what's new at Six Flags Darien Lake in 2026. I am really excited about the continuation of Titan Track being added to the Predator!
CaptainUnknown Posted March 20 Posted March 20 All titan track should provide a better ride at least. The transition between track types was jarring with the TT feeling bizarrely smooth and the wood being wood, if not rough.
ricklap77 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Good thing!! Because last time I rode it back in 2018 it was awful!!

Sk610 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I hope this year they do the final full turn and those last airtime hills. After such a great middle section hitting that ending is rough and jarring. The first drop and first hill are fine for now but the ending needs the most love right now in my opinion 1
ricklap77 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I have always enjoyed my visits to Darien Lake. Great family park with the campground next to it! Great rides too, especially Viper! 1
