Kentucky Kingdom (SFKK, KK) Discussion Thread

P. 410: Discovery Meadow details revealed!

I'm pretty sure SF took the trains

If that's the case then It really should be getting Vekoma trains IMO, wheel boogies have not really been a strong side of KumbaK. I wonder if there is someone else who would be interested in manufacturing trains for SLC's, Premier comes to mind.

Premier did an excellent job wrecking a Vekoma (Goliath at SFNE). I say KumbaK.

Some people might not be a fan of one color for all on a coaster but I think it looks awesome. That side of the park needed something bright and vibrant to stand out and it sure will with it being sunny outside. Maybe there could be a surprise regarding the trains, it might be something nobody has thought of for the trains to enhance a coaster like an SLC. Who knows but Ed Hart seems to always have something up his sleeve.

That side of the park looks well-balanced in terms of color - T3 would have be camouflaged if it were some shade of blue or green.

I'll just leave this here. I'm sure most of us get where the reference is really coming from!

Red is the new black.

Edit: Oh, and I'm really digging the color now.

Double-Edit: I totally skipped over the previous page and didn't see that this photo (along with the following photo) had already been posted... Oops.

IIRC the trains were shortened due to some miscalculation/design flaw with the track. It be nicer to have 10 cars per train but I doubt it will happen without track work ala El Condor... Unless I'm completely wrong about the reason for shortening the train.

What things would you like to see RMC do to Twisted Twins?

I would like two see the two sides combined like iron colossus. I think this could work even better for the twins because each side already has different elements and lifts, so it wouldn't be like riding the same coaster through twice. I'd also like for them to keep the wooden track, like they use on their new construction. Cool trains, crazy colors, and a little theme would be nice, but that's wishful thinking. I don't care what they do with the layout; whatever they come up with would porous ky be vastly superior to what I could imagine anyway! Lol

With how much land that would be available after reopening the past rides, I'm not sure there's much room for anything major. Maybe a half-pipe coaster of some sort?

Iron Colossus it. Maybe with the same type of track Outlaw Run has.

What coasters could you guys see coming in the future to the kingdom

Not sure where everyone is getting the idea that they're totally out of space. There is like two empty blocks right next to kentucky kingdom, not to mention that most of the fairgrounds is run down and not used for anywhere near as much as it used to be. ketucky kingdom seems to be the best thing the fairgrounds had going for it these days.

RMC fixed up Thunder Run, so I would say they're the most likely fix for the twins. Does gravity group do those kinds of overhauls? They make some good coaaters so they could probably do something pretty cool with the twins as well.

In the future Id like to see a new midway around the old dragsters and some kind of premiere launched coaster, like the superman ride. That would be a great fit for KK I think. I don't think they need to drop massive money in a big, high capacity B&M when they can clearly make Crowd pleasers (lightning run!) for a lot less.

I wish Cardinal Stadium was not on the other side of the Exposition center. Kentucky Kingdom could definitely use that space for better things than would the State Fair Board.

I mean 90% of the fairgrounds is just a parking lot. They could list turn the stadium area into a parking lot, and allow KK to build on the parking lot close to them. That way they could expand and keep the same insane amount of parking they already have.
