Six Flags Great America (SFGAm) Discussion Thread

p. 513 - Wrath of Rakshasa dive coaster announced for 2025!

Thanks for sharing the video! Yeah, it was definitely the wrong ride in the graphic. I didn't see it until it was too late - hopefully people don't look into it too much. But hey, if there weren't so many darn rides named GOLIATH we wouldn't have this problem! Haha.

Thanks again for sharing. Look for another construction tour in about a month.

Here is a link to Marcus Leshock's report from the Goliath Construction tour, taken from the WGN website!

I was trying to stay out of the camera's way, and I end up on channel 9 taking a picture of a coaster. I feel like a total nerd. And proud of it I'll be a coaster nerd to the end!

I'm surprised they used a picture of a same-name ride that clearly looks completely different. A picture of Texas Cyclone would have been closer. But I'm sure it has more to do with the Goliath logo?

I am so happy of Goliath's progress! Sorry if this is a dumb question because I know nothing about the actual physical construction of rides, but how is the construction crane-like car going to get out of the ride?

Has anyone tried to mock up what the rollercoaster will eventually look like from the web cam angle? Seems like there's always some great Photoshop ninjas around, and I'd love to see it superimposed on top of what they've gotten constructed so far.

What a great upgrade from Iron Wolf!

Looking at the construction, I see that the bridge will be good for stuff going under the "lift half" of the ride, but not good for where the crane currently is. The crane is now inside the first turn, so when a good part of that is done, I would imagine they'll drive the crane out and build the rest of that high curve from the outside of the curve.
