alex999 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I play Piano (7 years) and I am going to attempt the Bari Sax for concert season (percussion was for marching which is now over) and possibly march with the bari next year (still in consideration)
Bucket Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I have played the piano for about 12 years now. I remember I hated it at first because my parents forced it upon me, but now I really enjoy it. Music can be extremely theraputic and I am glad I have that skill.
zeke11793 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I played the trumpet for 3 years in middle school. I'm not in band this year because I take honors classes...
kraken613 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I play the Alto and Tennor sax in Concert Band. Alto in Jazz band. Tennor in marching band. I will be playing my Alto when ourt band goes to the Kennedy Center though.
Sunfire Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I play the oboe in my high school band. I love music! I used to play the alto sax, and I also know a little flute, but not enough to sound good. I kinda know how to play the piano.
Billy Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Ive been playin guitar for 13 years. Ive been teaching myself to play the drums for the past 2 years. Wayyyyy back in high school i played the trumpet - and i got perform on the field during the half-time show at the Gator Bowl! it was bizarre and very cheesy.
Tanks4me05 Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I played the trumpet for 3 years in middle school. I'm not in band this year because I take honors classes... My god, your school district is screwed up. Almost all of my band friends are in honors classes. (I'm in honors Global.) Heck, almost all of my "good band friends" are in Marching Band. Me, in the chance I haven't replied here before, I have been playing the Tuba for about four and a half years. I had a 95 on my level 5 NYSSMA solo last year, made all county three or four times, and I'm in Marching Band. (I'm doing a level 5 solo again this year.)
coreyml Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 oboe in 6th grade... hated it chorus ever since played in the pit jr and sr yr in hs b/c my school SUCKS at anything to do with talent and they let me in for free - free trip to japan, heck yeah im the singer of our "rock band" Deep Fried Baby and Hemroidal Assassans
Yankee cannonball Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I join the squier strat brigade. along with the sort of play guitar but suck to much to call it a talent brigade.
Goliath513 Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I played clarinet from 4th grade - 6th grade. Saxophone in 7th grade Now I am beginning computer synthesizer music production, so I use drum machines, synthesizers, samplers, sequencers, piano, as well as music mixing software on my computer.
doublex98 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I play the acoustic guitar and take lessons.
coastercrazed49 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Here is me about 1 year ago playing the drum set for a local music store group. I was a bit shaky at first though. The song is Purple Haze by Jimmy Hendrix 01 Track 1.wma
Force 310 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Percussion, rudimentary piano skills, and if you put a harmonica in front of me I could probably get some sort of basic two-note melody going.
kraken613 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Clarinet- I hated it! I had to play it in 6th grade! Alto Sax- My preferred Sax. Tenor Sax- My 2nd favorite I play it alot. About the same amount as the Alto. Barry Sax- My least favorite Sax I only have to play it once and awhile. Soprano Sax- I've only played it a handful of times but I liked it fine.
youthink? Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I play only the Alto sax, and have been playing it for 4 years now. It's just me and a senior in my band that play the alto's, he's REALLY good, and my band teacher told me that I am just as good as him! (I'm a freshie.)
CommanderLock Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I play the clarinet. I'm 3rd chair, but I don't care because there's 17 of us in the band. Small army of sorts. I play well, better than the guys next to me. There is this one kid in another school in the district who has an Alto Sax spaypainted clarinet black. It was intense. Our band teacher is an Alto Sax player too, and brags that his one of a set of 100 hand-made sax's, and that the factory was burned down, but when they rebuilt the factory they never got back to making more hand-made insturments because the instructions were burned also.
generaleclectic Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Let's see... Played trumpet professionally. I am now semi-retired. Majored in French Horn in college. These days I pump most of my time into 6 and 12 string acoustic guitar, pipe organ and piano.
kraken613 Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 In my band I can outplay all the Saxes! I get most the solos and harder parts in Jazz and Regular band.
VegasCoaster Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I play the trumpet and was a member of the quasi-professional Las Vegas Brass Band when I was in High School. I say quasi-professional since nobody got paid since it was not for profit, but we made CD's and a lot of the people in the band are teachers at high schools or UNLV or had played on the Strip at some point in time.
astroworldfan1 Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I just went to an Indoor Precussion tournament today. And EDW Catholic High School won! They were so good! They also had a guy named Jeff Prosperie. He acually went to EDW.Here is a video of Jeff: -Tatum "He's Damn Good!"
coastercrazed49 Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 That is really good I wish I could do a fraction of that, and I have played for four years.
I love DW Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Wow that guy is good. As for musical instruments all I can play is the baritone and trumpet. I tried to learn how to play piano on my own but I decided to give it up, maybe eventually I will try to learn again.
SFjunkie2010 Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I can play the drum set really well, but just playing a snare drum bores me and I never took the time to practice it. That guy was very good at the snare drum though
