26th Season

I stopped by the park late this afternoon. The park did confirm that this is Deer Park Plunge's last season to operate. It's very sad to see one of the few last original attractions from the park's opening will soon close.

The trees surrounding Undertaker have really grown up!

Be sure to get your last rides on Deer Park Plunge before the season ends.

I hope another water ride arrives at the park soon!

I'll have another update soon.

Signing off,

Tommy

One of the things that keeps people hooked on this park is the passage of time you've seem to have perfected in your story telling. Not just the trees, but the paint fading, plants growing and changing, rides getting "refurbished" and such.

Just wanted to pop in again and say this park is still awesome, and I always read every update. Thank you for an outstanding story!

26th Season

We're in late July which means I only have a few weeks left at the park before I return to school. I haven't heard many rumblings as far as next season goes, but I have heard that we'll see some general improvements (park infrastructure, new paint, etc.). While it's not that exciting, it's better than nothing. Apparently the Deer Park Plunge site will sit still for most of the first half of the season. Hmm...

They've only been running one train on Superman which means longer lines.

I took a spin on Scooby Doo today, something I haven't done in quite some time.

It's still a great way to escape the heat!

It's a fun ride for the family.

Nighttime ride on Rebellion. Enough said!

Tommy

I wonder if a Hurricane Harbor (or something similar) is in the works. With Deer Park Plunge closing, there really isn't a way to cool down other than that thing with the bucket in the Bug's Bunny section. I don't know how close the park is supposed to be in relation to the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, particularly Myrtle Beach, and its numerous water parks, but, in my opinion a water park section would make Six Flags South Carolina even greater.

I just love this park. Last time I was over, I rode Superman. Still a great ride, save for the lines. I tried to hit all the rides but either V2 was closed or just slow. And yes, I did take a ride on DPP... sad to see it go

26th Season

Let's get right into today's update.

I wonder if the park has any plans for this area besides Tony Hawk, because it looks like the entire area is dedicated to the coaster.

It's a good location to handle the influx of crowds.

The queues are being upgraded to include interactive features to hopefully make passing the time easier.

Have a great weekend!

26th Season

Well this is my last week in South Carolina before I return to school. There has been very little rumblings about next year, so I doubt we'll see anything major. Things aren't looking that great for the company, but hopefully we'll see a turnaround soon.

Tony Hawk's Big Spin looks good from the parking lot...

...as well as from one of the spinning cars!

I'm not sure why they ran an empty car.

I'll have one more update before I leave.

Tommy

This is the best RCT3 park I've ever seen! I know a while back I suggested new colors for Undertaker which is black-grey/silver-purple. Of course that wouldn't look good with Batman The Ride which has similiar colors. I can't wait to see what you decide to do for the 2009 season!

2008

26th Season

Well folks, today is my last day in South Carolina this year. It's been a fun summer. I think Tony Hawk was a great move for the park, as we've really been lacking a true family coaster.

I've heard a few rides will receive new coats of paint next year. Hopefully Undertaker is one of them.

I love this view of the park.

I took one last ride on V2 before heading out.

Goodbye, Six Flags. I'll see you again next year.

Signing off,

Tommy

Your empty car has arms sticking up in the air. lol.

And I think if Undertaker isn't painted next year it's unfortunately going to become a Bizzaro. I REALLY hope this doesn't happen though.

oh yeah! That would be awesome though! Fire!
